I'm chilled, Lehmann's head is far too big though.

Superb animations.
I like the way the integration between scoring and celebrating has been smoothed out.The way Almunia lays on the floor with his arms out after Drogba smashes one past him (3:58) and runs away celebrating, just looks fantastic.It all seemed a bit too quick in Euro, the ball sort of just hit the net and a split second later the focus was all on the celebration.Now ,it seems, there is more of a real time feel to the whole sequence which lasts a tad longer.
There was a nice frantic feel to the game as it progressed, which you would expect from those two sides in a top match.Dribbling and shielding has given us a better sense of space and awareness and looks like you can have a real go at beating your man via a very good first touch.
Drogba's shot had a real sense of weight and pace for the goal, but I would have liked to have seen some long pacey passes through the air or on the ground to make a better judgement of the overall feel for ball physics.
Love the Ref and his assistants, it gives it yet more reality.I also like the fact the crowd seem a bit more reactive to the situations.
The player models look slightly slimmer and more life like, couple this with the fantastic animation engine and ,at times, you may well think you are watching a real game.
I hear peeps saying its like PES5 and such.I have to disagree, the only resemblance to me is its Football, the graphics, lighting, animations, collissions,atmosphere and overall gameplay are improved IMO.The response times are the key to me, I find it unplayable as you wait for the animation to unfold in the two previous efforts but the reports on this are very encouraging.
You can see by my sig that I have reservations on the overall gameplay experience considering the complete frustrating affair of 08, but I think they may well have cracked it, giving us a smooth, beautiful looking,simulation.

Thanks for the videos, I will buy Fifa09 without a doubt however, I hope they fix the following:
- Nets
- Darkness (corner kicks and etc)
- Fans --> Pitches they seem to be to far from each other
I think the game play looks like it has improved a lot, and it looks more smooth.

Its funny, but there are alot of requests regarding this area, which alot of folk think (me included) are important when capturing the overall emotion of scoring, yet something so simplistic to implement is continually disregarded
We all accept that there are so many things, far more important to iron out first, but i dont see it as a time consuming and exspensive problem.
I would say any half talented programmer visiting this site could rustle up a good net physic in less than a week.

Will this new fifa 09 include new kits?
Arsenals' so far have been their 08 season's kits, and I would love to play some footy wearing
! I realise these vids are from an old build so when the game ships will it have the correct kits and line ups? (i.e. last minute transfers)

After going to youtube and watching some Football kingdom, I agree that nets should be sorted

all the bitching about faces, kits, nets (they aren't as bad as people are making out)
come on get a grip, this game is head and shoulders about anything else and you are moaning about things that really are not that important, unless you wanna replay, zoom in like geeks? and not play the game as a football game?
what did i used to read about pes, "doesnt matter what it looks like or the atmosphere it is all about the gameplay"
maybe take that into fifa, and actually enjoy what this great game has to offer?
on a seperate note, if they started improving all the faces, and the nets etc and neglected the gameplay and other features then i would be pissed off.. bit of perspective needed?
maybe they have set things they want to advance, like gameplay and then they will concentrate more on the finishing touches like nets , faces etc
i reckon next year you will get an improvement in manager mode

Fully agree. I've already said I don't understand the fascination with nets, and you make a good point about PES. Back then, FIFA was always the better looking game but we played PES because of the gameplay.
I'm sure we'd rather have the gameplay fixed up rather than them releasing another 08 with better nets?
