An Alex de Souza hat-trick was a only a part of a 6-0 showpiece performance by Fenerbahçe against Kayseri Erciyesspor in the first game of the Super Lig season. Tümer Metin, Tuncay Sanli and Murat Hacioglu were the other scorers in the game.

An away goal is the only positive we take from Kiev as we fell to a 3-1 defeat to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev. A very early goal by Diogo Rincon gave the home side a head start. Marco Aurelio’s header in the 48th minute levelled the score, but the following minutes took the game beyond reach.
Serkan Balcý’s sending off for a second yellow card in the 75th minute may have been harsh, but it certainly capped a lacklustre performance by the right back, who had Tuncay Þanlý and Ümit Özat at a similar level of play.
Even with 11 men, a dangerous corner wasn’t dealt with accordingly and our defence allowed Rincon to score his and his team’s second goal in the 67th minute.
With ten minutes to go, substitute Semih Þentürk scored a goal that would be ruled out for offside.
Three minutes after that, Ayila Yussuf blasted a fantastic shot that went in off the crossbar. Substitute centre back Servet Çetin had failed to clear the ball which led to a comfortable approach from Yussuf.
The second leg will be played on 23 August.

Bir Galatasarayli olarak, Fenerbahçe yi sahsen avrupada görmek isterim. Ülkemize puan lazim!! Benim abim, amcalarim, dayim hepsi Fenerbahçeli. Ama kafama takilan birsey var. Hollanda'da Galatasaraylilar, Fenerbahçeyi avrupadaki musabakalarinda hep desteklerler. Fakat Fenerbahçeliler, Galatasarayi herzaman düsman gibi görürler ve avrupadaki musabakalarda bile desteklemezler... Bu Hollanda'da yasiyan biz Türkler için geçerli tabi. Abi Galatasaray kini ve nefretinden gözünüz baska birsey görmüyor. Fener nezaman Galatasarayi yendi ozaman is tamamdir gibi bir hava var sanki. Dinamo Kiev rövans maçinda Fenerbahçeye basarilar dilerim.

Latest transfer acquisition Diego Lugano will arrive in Istanbul on Saturday afternoon to complete his move to Fenerbahçe.
The Uruguayan international will be travelling via Italy.
Lugano will wear number 35 this season. Fenerium stores are already stocking the shirts of the defender.

Just wanted to say congratulations for Lugano... When he came to São Paulo, no one believed him... When he left, he did it as a hero... We will all miss him deeply and he can't be replaced easily, so I wish the best for him and all you supporters of Fenerbahçe...

i dont really care about the europe anymore we aren't ready, if Fenerbahce makes a stable team this year and succeed for the turkish super league cup that would be awesome for our 100th year and anything else is a plus. :applause:

Well, if your problem was the defense, is all done now... Cruzeiro announced today that defenser Edu Dracena transfered to Fenerbahçe... A personal comment: if your defense line includes Lugano and Edu Dracena, no one will ever score gols in your team... Honestly, these two are one of the best defense players I've seen playing...

Typical Fener fan thoughts. That's why Fener wont be succesful in Europe like your rival team anymore.

For transfers, I have heard great things about Lugano and Edu. Also Alex, Edu and Deivid played together at Cruzeiro 3 years before when they won League Cup and Copa Libertadores. If they fit very well, Fener can make good job on Turkish League. And everybody knows Kezman. No need to comment on him. But i'vent heard nice things for Deivid. For newspapers, Deivid is a lazy and slow. Only he can use his right foot well. And heading shots. Looks like new Jardel coming to Turkey.

It is a proud day for the club as the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium has been picked by UEFA to host the UEFA Cup Final in 2009.
After numerous inspections by UEFA representatives, the Saracoğlu, or "Kadıköy" as referred to by fans, has been honoured with today’s decision.
Since 1999, the stadium has gone under complete reconstruction and refurbishment as the essential part of President Aziz Yıldırım’s plans for the club.

congrats on getting the uefa cup final, the stadium is class ... hopefully one day galatasaray will built a new stadium.
