Terrific night for the Turkish champions, as Fenerbahce made a history and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history by defeating Sevilla in Spain. The talented goalkeeper Volkan Demirel saved three spot-kicks after hosts Sevilla had won 3-2 and became an absolute hero.

At the very beginning of the game Daniel Alves and Seydou Keita scored two goals for the hosts Sevilla, but two Deivid goals forced the game into extra-time following Fenerbahce's 3-2- first-leg victory at Kadikoy in Istanbul. Volkan Demirel became a hero as he saved from Julien Escude, Enzo Maresca and Alves.

işte budur arkadaslar ya... forumlarda birbirimize daha ziyade kişiler önemli değil -taraftar ayırd etmeksizin söylüyorum- kendi takımlarımıza saldırıp duruyoruz... tabiki sonucta yine biz gülünç duruma düşüyoruz... artık yurtiçindeki rekabetimizi bir yana bırakıp en azından burada birbirimize destek olmalıyız...

Even though it was a few days ago, I want to say well done on knocking Sevilla out. Obviously, penalty shootouts are lotteries, but Volkan made himself a hero despite being at fault for the first two goals. I was hoping Sevilla would do well in the Champions League but it was not to be. :((

Terrific night for the Turkish champions, as Turkey witnessed a great 2-1-victory at BJK Inonu Stadium. Fenerbahce got the edge over Besiktas and kept up the challenge at the top of the Turkcell Super League with 63 points.

Captain Alex de Souza was the one who led the canaries to the ultimate victory at Inonu Stadium. The scoreline could well have been greater, but many chances were missed on the counter attack. The canaries celebrated a famous win as magnificient goals sealed a thrilling victory against Besiktas.

Fabolous victory for the canaries, hopefully more of the same when Fenerbahce return to the Champions League on Wednesday.

Congrats. Great goal by Deivid to redeem himself. Tonight the Fener fans were great, the best fans ive seen this week in CL. Very loud and were dancing all game. They went crazy after the 2nd goal. Shows people how Turkish fans are just as great, just stupid individuals that ruin things.

thanks Milan fans.we won again after an own goal.ın second match roberto carlos and one of best players of us gökhan gönül will play and chelsea cant make defence like this in second match.ı said if fenerbahçe won this match we will be succesfull in london.ı hope it will be like this.deivid sorried from us with an booming missile.thx to him.good luck to chelsea in second match.they are very strong and they proved it tonight.

Fantastic night for the Turkish champions as Europe witnessed a great 2-1-vicotry against Chelsea in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at Fenerbahce Sükrü Saracoglu Stadium.


Deivid's spectacular long-range effort nine minutes from time gave the canaries a UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg win against Chelsea FC that had seemed most unlikely when the same player scored an early own goal. Chelsea, who have won three ties at this stage in the past four seasons, looked in control after that opening gift. But after being under pressure for much of the first half, the knockout phase debutants responded following the break and London-born substitute Kazım Kazım turned the tie with a neat left-footed finish before Deivid's moment of redemption left next Tuesday's return at Stamford Bridge perfectly poised.

I think Chelsea will win the tie in Stamford, because as you said sedax They cannot play defense. I think that is a disadvantage, because Chelsea have a lot of offensive power and yesterday they did not utilize any of that because they were playing for an advantageous away score and became lazy after the own goal. I'm not trying to take anything from Fener, but a Chelsea trying to score many goals is much more dangerous than a Chelsea just trying to get a good score or keep the game as 1-0. Also, they will have home advantage. So I definitely don't see Fener winning the tie with ease. As Alex said, you guys have to work much more harder than the first leg.

Come on its Chelsea who is going to win. Its Stamford Bridge. They havent lost there for 4 years. And even at the Fener Stadium it was Chelsea who dominated. But were just unlucky to concede 2 goals. But for sure at Stamford the work will be done.
