English Premier League thread

I would like to see Clint get a 'big' move. I'm glad so many others are seeing what he is capable of now. He's one of the few players for the US that doesn't seem afraid of any situation, he fires off shots from any opening and I love it.

+1 He is also a team player. He covered the most ground of any player at the 2009 Confederations Cup and the third most ground of any player at the 2010 World Cup. He would be an invaluable asset to any of top clubs in the EPL.

I remember people in the Liverpool thread being sarcastic about both Fulham and Dempsey.
They called Fulham a long ball team (which they never were).
Liverpool could certainly use players like Dempsey, Ruiz and Dembele.

Jol's masterstroke was to put Dembele in midfield. Hugher bought him as a forward, but Dembele's weak point is that he doesn't score very often. Since he's a midfielder, Dembele really had become Fulham's pivotal player...

I hope he does develop a consistent shot, he'd be great as a deep lying forward.

I can't believe we did it today. Pretty Shitty City 1, Overpaid Fucking City NIL :SHOCK::SHOCK:

Welcome to the "Graveyard of Ambition" Manchester :D

Just to slightly paraphrase Brendan's interview last week, if you'd have told me we'd be 14 points clear of the relegation zone with 10 games left to play I'd have bitten your hand off! :SMUG:

Another well deserved triumph for the best thing that happened to the EPL since it started. Oh god, what a fantastic team Swansea are...this is the poor man's Barcelona and i mean this extremely positive.

I hope they can keep Sigurdsson, but since he's still from Offenheim that will be extremely tough.
Next season will be a very important one for Swansea...i remember how good Reading were in their first season (but not as good as Swansea now) and they got relegated the season after that..

In the Belgian papers there is lots to do about Moussa Dembele. Man Utd would be interested in him.

Seems to me like Hoffenheim are offloading all their good players anyway, might be less of a hassle if they're suddenly in trouble and need to sell.

Been a master stroke by Jol to convert Moussa to a CM rather than a second striker or winger as he started at Fulham. He's definitely got the talent for a big club but he's showing great adaptability as well to a new role.

He certainly wouldn't look out of our place in our midfield.

I never understood why he went to Germany in the first place. Should have had lots of Prem clubs in for him at the end of last season - he lit up the Championship.

"ESPN, who are covering this tie live on TV, have reported that Fabrice Muamba had CPR while on the pitch at White Hart Lane. The 23-year-old collapsed about five minutes before half-time."

"ESPN's reporter in the White Hart Lane tunnel says Fabrice Muamba was not breathing when the Bolton midfielder was carried past him. Medical staff were still attempting to resuscitate him and a defibillator had been used."

Crazy stuff, hope he's OK.

Rumors say that the player finally died...
15 minutes of cardiac massage, and he's not response...

Can't even imagine what his family are thinking, i'd assume they would of been watching, he has a little kid too.

Horrible.

I turned the game on right as it was suspended, commentators had no information other than medics had tried to get him breathing again for five minutes then he was carted off. Haven't heard anything since. Did he just collapse or was it a collision? They didn't show anything, just the stadium which was dead quiet and then everyone started chanting Fabrice Muamba

The hospital have released a statement saying he's in a stable condition, that is good news.

Apparently there was a heart doctor in the stands that ran onto the pitch to help, credit to whoever that was and everyone who acted so quickly including the St Johns Ambulance team who are voluntary organisation.

Thoughts and prayers with him and his family, shocking how this can happen to a footballer who must be in the best possible condition.

It can be a defect that he was born with. Those can be really hard to find unless you're specifically looking for it. A friend of mine died the exact same way during a match in 1996, mainly because none of us had any clue about first aid, and we certainly did not have a defibrillator ready to fire. He just collapsed, turned blue and was gone, and all I managed to do was to stand and stare...

I pray (to something..) the quick reaction was enough for Muamba, the medical staff was quick off the blocks and it may have saved his life.

Keep strong Muamba, you're in my thoughts and I really hope you pull through this one.
