The AI isn’t that super spontaneous when it’s about loose balls. You have a chance. Same as they have a chance. Loose ball battles seem more free. More fair.
And I appreciate that big time.

While I’m playing I could name so many things that are better. It’s crazy. Just a few things are worse. Not many.

The response times are much better. And this is the first time, I’m taking this into consideration... there must be something down to response times. Wish I could get my thoughts out much clearer... ich wünschte ich könnte genauer ausrücken was ich meine. ;)
Edit: Opponent players are not super quick in getting balls back. They behave and walk and run more natural.
The “force field” is not that pronounced. You are not “sticking” to the opponent a lot of times. It’s more free, weighty and challenging, imo.

Which stats are you editing?
 
Hi guys.
I've already had a chat with couple of you about this...

I'm playing version 1.00 and editing even one kit, just changing the colour, is causing my game to glitch, stutter, the ball to feel heavy, to move like on a string when dribbling, all sorts of degradation in gameplay.

If I revert that single kit to default and replay the match with that team, the game plays fine again.

I've tried this on three different ps4's, including a brand new slim and it's the same problem. In fact, after editing a few teams kits, even matches between licenced teams begin to glitch.

Has anyone who's manually edited on version 1.00 had a similar problem? I just cant believe the game can be this unstable.

Has anyone on xbox had this problem?

I'm willing to play without proper kits but being stuck with default kits is a step too far really, especially in an ML.

I'm wondering if it's the disc? But then it plays absolutely fine when I havent edited anything.

Would be grateful for your experiences, views, suggestions for work around.

I think I saw an option in the settings about the size of the avatar that's shown.

Just for the record, I am not going to defend the game as I have had similar experiences. However, after spending time testing the game under different circumstances, I got a much better understanding of why these things occurs, and that they are not "AI cheat scripting."

Breaking down your examples...
1) CB stop running after switching to it:
This used to happen to me a lot and I have learned that this happens if I am not holding sprint towards goal before "player switching." Also, for PES2020, because turning speed is slower than previous games, you want to hold sprint towards the direction that the CB is running before switching or they will go into a turning animation.

2) 88 rated strength DMF smashed by smaller weak COM players:
First of all it's important to look at the difficulty level you are playing, and also what is the situation in the game as "team spirit" and "momentum" all play into this. If you are playing on higher difficulties, stats are boosted for COM players and you will see this happening. Like I said, this is a "known feature" of the game as stat boost is how difficulty level is set. I do have to say that with the game being much more "realistic," this way of implementing difficulty setting is antiquated, and it is immersion breaking, but again this isn't "AI cheating," just a badly designed feature.

3) Unable to play a pass 5 yards
I have spoken about this year after year, and this problem is especially bad for FUMA players. The way passing meter is implemented is currently broken as even the lightest tap will result in a pass longer than 5 yards. Without PA1 or higher, you have simply no way to pass to the feet of a player close to you. This issue is compounded by the broken player switching and the currently low responsiveness of players to "loose balls." So this is a case of the game being incomplete/buggy/badly design, but again it is not "AI cheating."

Note; I know very little about ps4 hardware. I'm just spit-balling, but is there an option to defragment your ps4 storage? It sounds like if you edit a kit (which is stored in an edit0000000 file by the game on pc) the game is taking longer to access/load kits. I'm fairly sure @PRO_TOO is playing 1.0 with edited kits, so it would be weird for this to be a game issue rather than an environmental one as I would've thought he'd have noticed it too.

Note; I know very little about ps4 hardware. I'm just spit-balling, but is there an option to defragment your ps4 storage? It sounds like if you edit a kit (which is stored in an edit0000000 file by the game on pc) the game is taking longer to access/load kits. I'm fairly sure @PRO_TOO is playing 1.0 with edited kits, so it would be weird for this to be a game issue rather than an environmental one as I would've thought he'd have noticed it too.

That sounds like a possibility, especially as the fan goes into overdrive the minute a match with an edited kit begins. I keep thinking its environmental too.

But the thing is I'm playing on a brand new ps4 slim, I havent even signed into my playstation account yet. So I'm struggling to work out what I could do to the ps4 to improve it.

Is there a way to install the game onto a ps4? Or does it do that anyway?

I'm beginning to wonder whether the game is optimised for the ps4 pro, but surely even konami wouldnt screw the edit mode on a standard ps4?

This sounds like a hardware problem. I would suggest returning the PS4 and get it replaced.

It’s happened on a few of his PS4’s though, can’t be a hardware problem.

The fan goes crazy for me on PES 2020 as well but FIFA is fine unless I’m in a press conference.

This is what's left me stumped. Its happened on my old ps4, my brothers ps4 and my one day old ps4 slim.

I feel like theres something I'm missing I just cant put my finger on it.

Is there any way it could be a disc problem? That's its damaged in a way that's not physically obvious so doesn't read properly when I've edited? Does that even make sense in terms of how discs work?

Sorry guys, this isnt the most fun topic, I'm just genuinely in a fix. I'd play with default kits but some of them are just the plain wrong colour and even with my (necessary) capacity for self delusion when it comes for pes, I cant look past them!

I only edited tactics for my 1.0 save, till now.
But I can give it a try @FShas ! What teams should I play to test it and in what mode?!
Just edit the kits before kick off (like changing color)? Gimme detailed instructions and I’ll have a look.

@Emroth did a lot of kit editing with his vanilla save. He did not mention weird matches..!!

Hey ProToo, sorry to drag you back down this rabbit hole.

A simple experiment I do is play Norwich liverpool at village road night summer clear weather.


I originally created a third liverpool kit, the black one. And it immediately started glitching.
I deleted that kit, played with the default liverpool red kit and game played normal again.

So...I changed the colour, nothing else, on liverpool's home kit to a brighter red to make it closer to reality. And it glitched again!
I changed it back to default and it played fine again.

So this is what I've done only on my new save on the new ps4 slim.

On my old ps4, I changed a load of kits at once with a mass edit and had the same problems, so I couldn't isolate the problem then.

But now, with this new ps4, I've tried just one kit and it definitely caused the glitch.
The main thing is animation glitching. Players will warp, they will stutter, the ball will not move away from players properly when dribbling...it will almost be stuck close to their feet and then suddenly be kicked 3 or 4 yards away on the next touch fro no good reason. It's just a general degradation in gameplay and it's so noticeable.

Would be so good to hear what happens for you. I'm just beginning to think it cant just be me...

Fan here too. I'm beginning to wonder whether pes 2020 (and previous pes games) actually damaged my previous ps4 through this fan problem, causing it to overheat.

If this edit mode problem extends to anybody else, I'm seriously considering some sort of action against konami...

Fan will run loud when there is a heat dissipation issue. This is more likely to happen with highly demanding games as the GFX subsystem will run consistently hot. However, if the heat is within operational limits, the game should not glitch.
PES2020 is not a graphically demanding game, and the fan should not run loud unless the operating environment is super hot, or the ps4 has venting issues such as massive dust build up. Being the PS4 a brand new one, there should not be any venting issues unless the PS4 is placed in an area where the heat is trapped, but I am assuming he does not have the PS4 in an un-ventilated closed box.
If the game is glitching due to the heat, even for a undemanding game like PES2020, there is an absurd amount of heat being generated, and this sounds like a hardware issue.

Hardware issue when only PES causes the fan to ramp up!!?!! Its not as if I don't play other games that aren't graphically and CPU intensive... do me a favour mate :)

The console is in a completely open unit so no issue with that.

My issue with it being hardware is that the game glitches instantly. Before heat can build up. From a cold start. It wouldnt have time to overheat surely?

Where it could be hardware I wonder is if regular ps4 cannot cope with edited teams? And so pes is optimised for ps4 pro levels of hardware grunt?

But then, I'm sure I've seen people with ps4 pro say pes kicks their fan up too...
 
interesting. i have seen pes do way to many random weird glitches where stuff like players telporting and running into each other happens. i wonder if it is the editing/option files?

i usualy put OF on day 1, maybe i shoud try without and then with this year

I know some people get very upset about about the option file talk so please close your eyes for this but...

I'm always surprised by how much more smoothly the pes lite versions play. And I'm pretty sure it's because I've always loaded up an option file on day 1 too and so generally never sampled the unmolested gameplay. I've generally dismissed glitching and warping as part of the experience for years on end...

I'm beginning to wonder now though.
If my pes cant cope with me changing the damn font colour on the back of the shirt from grey to white so its suddenly more visible, who knows... (I specifically remember a pes, it was either pes 4 or pes 2013 where the names and numbers on back of shirts for unlicences teams were left invisible, ie the same colour as the kits, because highlighting them affected the frame rate...and this was confirmed by konami too!)

If others report this manual editing on vanilla version problem, I'm considering borrowing an xbox and moving over to that. I know all through the xbox 360 years pes always played better on it, even the AI routines were more efficient...I've heard similar things with the demo this year from people who have played it on both consoles extensively...

Well slap me twice and call me vincent..
I DID see this glitch, where ball is getting stuck during the first touch and then suddenly is 3/4 yards away from their feet. It wasnt happening all the time and I didnt think much of it. But I definetely seen this few times.
At the start you were talking about camera glitching and the whole thing being fucked, so I thought you have some bigger thing going on there.
So that is caused by kits Edit? Well shiiiit...
That will save me a lot of time if I come back to vanilla.. :LOL:

Unfortunately I cant see you having any hope going against Konami, as they can easily say its a glitch that was fixed with a patch, so if you want to get it fixed - update the game..
 
Pes made my Ps4 fan loud too, but i managed to make it much more bearable by cleaning the vents and the fan. I have an original model Ps4, not Slim or Pro.

Yes!! Its not just me! The thing is, the longer you play with the kits edited, the worse the glitching gets. And yes, it's the kits that do it.

Get this though. My brand new fresh slate pes on my brand new ps4 was playing super smooth. As mentioned earlier, just editing one kit screwed the game...reverting it back returned it to smoothness.

But...since making that one change and even though I then reverted the kit to default, ove noticed the game glitching still...even with ajax vs psv. It's nowhere near as bad as playing with an edited kit but it's there.
I noticed this on my previous ps4 but put it down to the ps4 generally bring knackered...

But now, I'm beginning to think that editing a single kit on vanilla will potentially cause that entire edit file to corrupt, even if you revert that kit to default.

And just to confirm, I played at least 4 hours on this new ps4 before I edited a thing because I wanted to ensure these glitches weren't in the vanilla version itself. And during those 4 hours, not a single warp or glitch.

But since that single edit and then reverting to default, little glitches have appeared in the same match-ups and the same stadiums etc I was playing before I ever edited.

I'm now deleting the whole game, save and edit data and starting again with only tactics editing.

So it's either just me or vanilla kit editing is fucked.

As for going against konami, yeah, legally it would be an almost certain lose for me. But I dont see anywhere on there box that I need an internet connection to play thr game smoothly or that edit mode only works for tactics unless you update the game...
I have contacted their customer sevice...will report back.
 
People. Please. It's a myth. It's placebo. Editing kits can't have any influence on the gameplay. If that were the case, it wouldn't be possible to play online with default kits against someone with modded kits, because you would instantly get disconnected due to a mismatch.

In this way no more "SUPERMAN GK" and you avoid even biggest jump like "superhero"

Alisson Becker 90
Oblak, Ter Stegen 89(less 1/same Overall)
De Gea and Neuer 88(less 2/less 1)
Szczesny, Handanovic,Courtois,Ederson 87(plus 1,No Change, No Change,less 2)

" "
Etc...


Even if i maintain the same Overall i made same chenges about the stats.

Physical contact is the key about GK nowdays, that's why i put higher especially because a lot of them are very tall and get a massive weight :)

Even Reflexes and Clearing because it's really unusual to see a GK catch the ball every time

And less GK Reach cause not all Gk are able with this kind of stat
