EA SPORTS FC 27

There is a counter-argument to things like this (e.g. skating, vibrating players, jelly legs and balls going through limbs) which I've heard a few times - "it's just the animation system, the wrong animations / stance is being chosen, it doesn't affect gameplay".

But if your player should be falling over and doesn't - or the ball should be deflecting and doesn't (or deflects in a physically impossible manner to magnetise to a player)... They're slightly different things but I'd argue it's reflecting the core gameplay issues.

In fairness, Michael Jackson could hold that pose.

Barcelona has 3 red cards so it was 11 vs 8. So yes there is no defender here at the end of the match, with the stamina empty. Having the context is always important 😉.

I want to tell something to everybody, it will be the last time so listen carefully.

I didn't want to have a full simulation, boring like many footy matchs. I want to have a fun game in 8 minutes half that bring me fun and want to made a more realistic career with my teams.

I'm not a developper, I'm a user like many of us.
The game is now out for the ultimate version.
I can show now some actions with MY FEELING.

When peuple said this game is trash, It's ok, no proof needed because it's a national sport to said EA always maid bad things. Canadian developpers didn't know anything about football...

But if you said, you have fun, there are fouls and the ball is more free. Peuple said you're a fanboy, you lie etc...

That's ok, I take it.
I always explain my feelings with a video to show what I want to explained.
I have read there is no goal from CPU from distance. The CPU scores already twice long ranges against me on legend.

I accept people didn't have the same feeling as me. We have all different taste. But in the other end, you have to accept that people could have different tastes or feeling too.

FIFA is always difficult to judge, so many settings that changed the CPU behaviour.

The career producer said fouls will be tweak at launch so maybe the day one patch will be out the 25th.

I hope you will have a great experience, on FUTO, FUMA, whatever.

Take care everyone and never forget that it's only a game, so stay chill.

I agree with the fact that footie games will never be truly realistic until you do 45 mins halves therefore more actions needs to be compressed for 6/7 min halves. Match statistics should reflect that the match is being played at a smaller interval than real matches so chances should be proportional to that. I know not everything can be scaled to such smaller halves(like the amount of passes) but in general, that would mean that the matches are more "action" focused than a real match would be because of this compression. However having said that, i feel like the authentic gameplay in FC 27 is not "action" focused. Neither it is a match that feels like it's a condensed version of a full real match. Most of the matches i am having there CPU only takes like 2-3 shots in the entire game. Everything is still too perfect. The defense, the auto tackle, the lack of intelligent attacking runs, CPU not figuring out how to create chances, the lack of context specific error(it seems random that a player takes heavy touch for no reason), etc. For me, a video game is suppose to be fun but i am just bored.

this game problem is it try to cater everyone thus satisfying no one end up disappointing everyone

no game can be all end all tbh imo

for me it's fun to play small sided but even then it's still not EA BIG arcade thus at mercy of animations/physics leading to frustrating inertia and things that will go wrong will go wrong hahah

for simulation side of footy the less said the better it may look like it with the broadcast presentation but it ain't lads

for me annual FIFA/FC has just been reduced to a way for music discovery because they still haven't lost that touch (subjective btw ahaha)

Do you know if anyone is making sliders for competitive and not authentic?

Authentic just feels an extreme mess this year, so heavy and unresponsive. The game is just dead. Competitive is the extreme the other way, but much more fluid.

Hoping theres a way to save this game because career mode seems really good to play through.
You can find sliders here, you have the choice.

https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/forum/soccer/ea-sports-fc-and-fifa/ea-sports-fifa-sliders

But I found this year Authentic mode and Dynamic CPU far better than FC 26 for my personnal tastes.
I don't know if the game is now appreciate or not for offline players.

Me, too.

My first goals and scenes on Pro level vs AI. (Authentic/Tactical/Competitive/Standard Sliders)

I completely respect that people have different opinions and enjoy different things, but for me, it’s honestly hard to understand how anyone can get any enjoyment out of playing a football game that looks like this.

The defending, particularly when it comes to marking and defensive positioning, is unbelievable bad, and this is supposed to be authentic mode? Looking at the goals in your video, almost all of them seem to come from you getting through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, with no defender between you and the goal.

Obviously, I don’t have any actual data to back this up, but it just feels completely backwards compared to real football. In the vast majority of goals scored in real football, there is usually some sort of defensive presence between the player taking the shot and the goalkeeper. In FC, it seems to be almost the opposite.

Hopefully, some sliders can be tweaked that help correct this and make the overall experience somewhat more realistic. I’m not looking for FC to be hyper-realistic either, but I do want it to at least resemble the actual sport to some extent.

This is recorded on pro difficulty, i don't think this can be a reference if defensive presence is given or not.

Many bugs that were never fixed in the PS5 version of FC26 are inexplicably still present in FC27. For example, gameplay settings that never save; on the fly tactical settings that require multiple presses to register or don’t at all; running jockey not working when using authenticity features; commentary turning off during some matches…

Finally, something positive 😂

In two of my four games played in the beta, the commentary wasn’t just turned off - after I had disabled and then re-enabled it in the settings, it was back in German, even though the settings were set to English. EA never ceases to surprise.

The level of sophistication in the bidding war system literally seems as simple as randomly generating interested clubs as soon as the user approaches a player.

Not being able to sign every player you approach is refreshing, but the way it’s done is so basic it just feels pointless. Miss out on a player and then he’s instantly at another club. Can that happen in reality? Yes. Does it happen all the time? Of course not.

They add a more manual / loose ball in certain situations (i.e. through passes) and people go crazy about how it's added a "skill gap".

Please, for the love of Christ EA, read this and make your game more like football - because even the FUT players like it.

44 seconds, when Tevez (lol) gets the ball in the attack and spins with it totally glued to his feet... I mean, not even Super Sidekicks did that: for people not old enough, that was an Arcade machine from SNK back in the 90's... To call any of this "authentic" just sounds like a bad joke.

That clip isn't from Authentic gameplay - that was my point. The standard gameplay is obviously horrible for us, but they've given through balls more freedom, and the players scream "skill gap" and love it.

I honestly don't think the majority want everything automating (e.g. glue boots and magnet balls).

This is exactly why majority of them would/is going back to play "Retro FIFAs" without knowing why in the first place. If the gameplay team understands that quicker, the better for all of us.

The great irony is that they don’t need to create anything new because it already exists in real life and in past iterations of these games. Real ball physics can be chaotic. Constraining players to real human movements means a mishit or mistimed pass is punished severely. Then add in manual controls with no correction assistance on defending, passing and shooting and it’s an extremely difficult game. (Not to mention the whole complexity of tactics which would truly blow a FUT player’s mind.)

sorry for being a newb, but have you got competitive in there as an option, or addition setting within Authentic?
Yes, you can use Competitive as an additional setting while keeping Authentic gameplay active.

Authentic still controls the general offline gameplay style and CPU behaviour, while Competitive applies the more restrictive competitive control settings on top of it. For example, some assists are limited to Semi instead of Fully Assisted, and certain automatic defensive actions are reduced.

So it is not necessarily an either/or choice. You can keep Authentic for the more realistic offline gameplay and enable Competitive as an extra layer if you want less assistance and more manual control.

For me, if it's not as good as this (16 modded), I can't play it - and you can see how good it is without having to have the controller in your hand. Everything is grounded. Why would you play something worse just because it's newer?

I managed a lot more game time over the weekend and after hitting the half way mark with the trial, I feel like I can share my honest feedback on the game so far.

I will try to keep my feedback concise and I will probably avoid some of the obvious issues which are well documented and noted in this thread.

For context, I am playing Legendary difficulty with a 5 minute half. Authentic mode on but custom slider settings based on my preferences. All games have been completed in Career Mode using Pohang Steelers in the K-League (a 2 star team). Semi-assisted controls.

Overall, I quite like it. I don’t think I got more than 2 hours into the FC26 trial before quitting back to PES21. This time around, I have racked up the hours quite quickly and it has actually left me with that ‘one more game feel’. That being said, there are some personal pros and cons to the gameplay:

Pros:

- Physicality and fouls - You can definitely feel the physicality more and you have to be really careful shielding the ball or timing your movements, otherwise you will lose the ball. Fouls are definitely more prevalent too, although if I was being really picky I’d argue they could be ramped up slightly more
- Midfield - For the first time in a while it feels like there are actual midfield battles in the game. It might be a legendary difficulty factor combined with my sliders but you can’t just ping pong through or run down the wing unchallenged as you could in previous versions
- Fullback positioning - Again, possibly slider/personal tactics related but fullbacks seem more involved in build up play and willing to push forward compared to previous versions
- Difficulty - Overall, legendary feels a notch up compared to previous versions. You really have to think about your passes, movements and work to create obvious through ball or goal opportunities

Cons:

- Auto tackle
- I’m not a fan. It throws me off completely and most of the time, even when I do win the ball, I just end up losing possession because it is so hard to predict
- Physics - The physics are still poorly represented at times. Some of the body movements become unnatural or you’ll have a header that travels 30 yards
- Ball freedom - I have messed around with some of the passing, heading and deflection sliders to make the ball a little bit looser at times although this is mainly limited to set pieces or crosses. For ground passes, it does feel like the ball is on a set trajectory
- AI attacking - The AI still make some strange decisions when attacking and rather than punishing you or whipping an early cross into the box, they opt to play it safe and retain the ball

Is there full gameplay video of this? I couldn't use it anyway as i am on PS5, but i am interested.

In almost all of the clips ive seen in this thread, almost all goals are 1 on 1, a few quick passes and through ball to the striker who has a whole half of a football pitch to himself and the keeper, gets 10 yds out and absolutely rifles it into the corner, no scrappy goals, no little side foot shots into the corner, takes the enjoyment away from scoring

Been using these. Not really sure how I feel about them yet because I only played a few matches but they seem alright. The CPU just never stops pressing even on custom CPU sliders.

For whatever it's worth, when I played FC25 on PC I was using this guy's sliders over the free gameplay mods and other slider settings that were available at the time (never tried any paid gameplay mods so can't comment beyond that)

I did not have time to upload before but here is a really short gameplay clip:

(Ignore the poor defending, I am still trying to shake my PES muscle memory)

Guys thanks so much for posting this. No exaggeration, this has given me this brand new hope for the game.

It’s a lot of work modifying the sliders while watching the video, but worth it, you can see an excellent game in there, which is insane!

There are issues for me though, the AI is useless in the sense of posing a threat, and I can one-two behind their super high line with ease. He definitely needs to work on CPU marking and positioning, and perhaps reduce their errors so they can pass it around. However, all the user settings are a dream. The first touch, passing, dribbling etc are incredible.

Looking forward to more updates!

Just downloaded the trial and I'm not really seeing any huge difference from last year. The closing down to cause fouls just seems to be at the expense of everything else, aka defence just abandoning any sense of holding a line and leaving an easy ball over the top. It really is a horrendous game. It actually reminds me of UFL at this point.

Take away all the licences and polish and hardly any of us would making any effort with this rubbish. Feels like free to play tripe.

Also sick to death of zero effort with commentary, zero replays...the list goes on. They don't even try and hide it anymore.

It should be helpful to set the line deeper or (what i do) give them a slight advantage in speed and acceleration.
