EA SPORTS FC 26

Anyone noticed any randomness or things that happened off script like in real football, deflections or funny off the line clearances?

Don't forget that the 60 rated players you mention are still professional footballers. They could probably still run rings around you. They just aren't at the elite level that the EPL stars are
Sure but a league 2 player should never be able to consistently make line breaking long balls like Pirlo and start stringing one touch passes like prime Arsenal under Arsene Wenger

I have to be honest, I think EAFC 26 early impressions are that this is a really good game and I think the one that means I may finally delete PES 21. It’s not perfect but other than the ball physics being a bit off it’s actually really good. It offers a challenge for once. It actually works well on pc which is the first time in years.

I think some people who say authentic is too fast need to realise that it’s a game and you can have the exact same speed as real life as who on earth has the time/ want to play a 90 minute match? With defenders walking about it would be dull.

This game is defo trying to cater for us that want to play offline career mode and as someone who has not been able to get into any career modes since FIFA 17 this is what I have been wanting.

PES 21 has been great and I have modded it to death, the work people have done on it have been amazing but for me nobody ever sorted the AI (they on dribble in straight line down the flank and the scripting ruins it). It still is a great game for the ball physics and feel but it’s not a challenge really and just to frustrating with mods going wrong.

I have loved this forum but I’m tired of modding and searching for the perfect game for a career mode. Time to accept that FC 26 is as good as it gets and I will enjoy a career mode at last.

I completely agree with you on this - PES 2021 has received so much love from the community in terms of the incredible content available for it that I'm desperate to enjoy it...

...but the AI is Game Boy level, and it's too hardcoded to fix, so it's impossible for me to enjoy. Straight-line runs, defenders pumping 100-yard passes forward all game like 90s Bolton (when they're actually Barcelona), chested down perfectly every time...

However. FC26 is identical but opposite, and you sort of admit it yourself - "ball physics are off" (way off) but AI is good. PES 2021 has good ball physics but "off" (way off) AI.

I'm really glad you're enjoying it, not trying to be a party pooper. I agree with you SO MUCH on being fed up of modding and searching for "fixes" that don't actually fix the core issues.

I get annoyed with the modding chat, especially in console threads, because 1) not everyone has that privilege, 2) nobody should HAVE to resort to mods to make a football game feel like a football game, and 3) modding can't fix hardcoded design choices. Even if those mods undeniably make it a better game and take a lot of hard work to perfect.

But realistically it's just swapping one game with a big flaw for another one with a big flaw, because it's fresher. I can't see past those cannonball headers and the no-momentum, insta-controlled passes, with 90%+ pass accuracy every game...

But I hope it lasts for you, and that updates over the course of the year make it even better!

Tbh I think there's no reason for them to not try to improve this "authentic" game mode, if not through patches I strongly believe we should have a decent authentic mode at least in the next FC games... idk how much of the dev's work it takes to mantain the crappy UT updates and events going, but as long as there's at least one team working on authentic it should improve enough for it to be enjoyable I guess. I haven't played FC25 when it was first released, but isn't FC26 authentic gameplay a better base gameplay for modders? I mean, at least the opposite team AI isn't shitty.

EA FC 26 isn't bad (it's just a game). It can't be compared to a soccer simulator because it becomes awful.

EA needs to improve the way players move.
Because it's terribly poorly done. Their bodies (their heads are always shaking). Their legs get stuck inside each other.

The player controls with his right foot and switches, floating senselessly.
Another serious problem is the impact on the ball (the player doesn't use the correct physics). The ball feels like a birthday balloon.

I don't understand. How can a team of programmers, who can capture the movements of entire matches, not achieve PERFECTION?
For God's sake, it's 2025, and we don't have the basics faithfully reproduced.

Check out the horse's movements from RDR 2 below:

THE ENTIRE EA DEVELOPMENT TEAM SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
22 players (professional athletes who play for billion-dollar clubs) completely pathetic. This is my true feeling...

Your idea of perfection and the EA board of directors are two completely different things. . UT drives around 5 billion of the 7 billion it makes somas long as that's earning that's all they will care about.

If you play in authentic mode, the speed is great so I don't understand. If online, yes the game seems very fast this year!
I usually play online seasons and it is faster than ever. These must be an option to search with autentic settings imo.

BTW, I tested Authentic mode and played 5 to 10 matches with all kinds of teams. Even in that mode, sometimes the pace still feels faster than it should.

After enjoying a few exhibition games I dived into a career mode with San Lorenzo - After a dubious start, I am starting to enjoy this.

You can’t knock the depth that they have tried to create in career mode, interested to see how the manager movement pans out.

@FC Bayern still no fouls unfortunately 😂

Was the thing where you pick 5 others leagues to simulate there last year? It's really immersive seeing results from other leagues pop up on the news.

I was excited to try out the simplified skill moves but on my game that option is grayed out.

Anyone knows why and how to enable it?
Have you locked controls to "competitive" at the top of that settings page by any chance? I would imagine you can't use this option online (which is primarily what that control set is for).

Which is a shame because it makes more sense to make skills contextual than Street Fighter style...

Destroyed the defender with Gyökeres on the old gen version (Xbox One) would've been more satisfying if the defenders didn't look completely uninterested in keeping up with him

I did something similar in FC25 but couldn't score

That defender teleported 8 feet

The A.I. and tactical side of the game is once again, absolutely absent. The way the A.I. "cover" space literally creates 20m gaps between defense midfield and attackers, nothing is remotely consistent, just all over the place.

The defense in particular just has no clue how to position themselves or where they should be on the pitch according to the position of the ball and the attacking players, even ps2 games were far better in that regard....

In 2v2 it doesnt show as much, since you are controlling more of the players, but 1v1 its so shit...

vent over...sheesh...another FIFA, that is only, maybe playable 2v2 or in clubs...

I played the switch version of FIFA 23 a few months ago (it was basically Xbox 360 FIFA 19 gameplay wise) and the mechanics of the old FIFAs still crap all over any of the next gen Hypermotion era stuff lol

Nope, it was new for FC26 - see the pitch notes by clicking here which explain what drove this addition (and what supports it).
And it does read well, right?!

If only like 5% of all teased features would make it into the game with only 50% correct implementation in regards to/combination with gameplay (!!!)… it could all be so enjoyable.

I have to say, I’m a sucker for nice trailers and reading good written patch notes. It’s like reading a book and my mind goes wild and paints the most amazing pictures… 😂

I gift and a curse!! 🤪

It's because of Player IQ/Role rigid zones. Please report the issue on the portal here: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8401603/Player-Feedback-Portal-EA-SPORTS-FC-26

I really wish they’d get rid of that stupid looking squatted sidestep shuffle animation your player does when defending one on one.

Switched down to World Class. Enjoying it more now tbh despite it being a little easier.

Even though I didn’t find Lengendary (or Ultimate) difficult, I feel like the artificial difficulty was one of the reason I get out my wingers through on goal with 3-4 first time passes.

World Class seems a bit more settled but the usual problems still exist. Trying to just an enjoy it as a game for now and not as a football sim.

With that being said, I both love and hate the random events in career.

Same here with regards to the random events - I was in two minds whether to include it or not. I set the frequency to ‘low’ and I have already had 2 in my first 5 games. It definitely adds another dynamic but I can see it becoming tiresome/annoying if implemented the wrong way.

Interestingly, this is my second career and I set them to low this time.

When set as default, I had one in an entire full season.

When set at low, I’ve had 5 in half a season.

I would not be surprised in the slightest if the settings are bugged, because EA.

To exaggerate slightly, I'm currently spending more time in the settings menu checking options than on the pitch because the game simply won't save my fucking settings.

Kickoff mode for example. I go into the menu, tactical fouls are disabled. I enable them and exit the settings. Then I go back in and they're disabled again. So I enable them again. And only then are they saved. But only for the next game, after that it starts all over again. How many years has EA been unable to fix this? Same thing with other options. It's so incredibly annoying.

Apart from that, is there no remaining playing time anymore when you start the trial?
