well done to chelsea, second half performance was very impressive
glad chelsea won tbh not just of the fact of hating arsenal (lol), but the fact that chelsea has a lot of young talented BRITISH players

Yeah but they only bought one through their youth system. Anyone with Romans money could buy those players.

As much as I hate the "buy success" attitude, I must admit I think it's good that they've got a core of English players in the team. I think that grit that they've got combines well with the foreign flair and has probably been a big part of there success so far this season.

Yawn about the money/Abramovich thing. Ooh! Chelsea are doing well, it's because they've bought it. Ooh! Chelsea screwed up, money can't buy you success, ooh! oh! ah!! Yawn! Change the record you change to suit your moans.

Tonight my star players were Terry - pre-Abramovich, Lampard - pre-Abramovich, Gudjohnsen - pre-Abramovich, Gallas - pre-Abramovich, Bridge - humble young Hampshire lad.

still tho i would rather see a british team with a decent number of british players, just my opinion

So would I, not just poaching everyone else's though. Other clubs bring them up and then chelsea flash the cashe ruining any loyalty there was between player and club!

If thats in response to my quotes you should re-read mate, I only said the money is the reason you have English players not why you're winning.

Come on Noted we can't use that as an excuse, we were piss poor the second half and Chelsea deserved to go through, we din't it's as simple as that. Everytime I looked down at Henry tonight he was strolling around like he didn't give a shit. I think Reyes was the only one who wanted it as much as Chelsea, he run his bollocks off!

Congrats to you guys but I still can't see you beating Milan.

well then just apart from cole then!

It's the same for both teams we've bought nearly all of our starting line up. I only commented on the fact Chelsea only have lots of English players cause they bought them.

I've mentioned it in other threads, but not this one, oddly enough, though I thought I should:

Excellent play today Chelsea. We lost the plot after Lampard's goal and well done to you for capitalising.

ur not gonna complain if someone comes in and gives ur team loads of cash to spend on players are u ?
Exactly, Milan have one of the biggest crooks in the world at the helm and Madrid performed some dirty tricks to remove their debt then go crazy in the transfer market. Stop whinging, Chelsea DESERVED to go through, as did Monaco.

Thats not my point, Chelsea did deserve to go through today. My original point was about how Chelsea created a new team this year with bags of money and got this far.

i wouldnt go as far to say they've created a new team, but more of an all around greater squad.
a lot chelsea first teamers are the same as last years probably apart from duff, mutu and bridge who are having the most influence of the new influx of player chelsea have brought in

to be fair to chelsea this season, id have to say that the best players have been the ones that were already there - lampard, hasselbaink, gudjohnsen, terry, gallas, cudicini

I agree with you, maybe Bridge and Makele have made an impact though.

But you're missing my point, Milan only had that money to spend because of the crook running the club, while the rest of Italian football was in a money crisis.

He is a dirty cunt I agree. His money has been poured into MIlan in the last 20 years, but ... 170 Million (i think it was) in a season is a different situation.

It most certainly isn't a new team. Those of you old/sensible/ enough to see past the blind jealousy have noticed that our core and best, most influential players are the old guard CFC.

It was inevitable this was gonna happen whatever. Chelski lose people laugh at the money spent. Chelski win people look at the money. To be honest i am jealous of Chelski's money but who isnt. Can you honestly say if your club had billions poured into it and won the champs league with it you wouldnt over joyed? look at it from the Chelski fans point of view.

Anyway like i said before congrats to Chelski. Enjoy the moment fellas and i for one will be hoping you go all the way. Nice to see an English side win the champs league.

Would anyone consider Crespo as a flop? He hasn't done a thing for Chelsea since he got here, AFAIK. He did have a few good games at the start but hasn't been producing the goods in the last few months...

I dont think he suits the English league imo. He did well in Italy it is better for goal pokers (Vieri, Corradi, Inzaghi etc) He is also good at headers which is why he scored a shitload last season.

Crespo like veron is an excellent player............Although only when it suits them!.........They ARE CRAP in england. Chelsea are fools for buying these overated shitbags.

Plus they are both ugly twats.

i would say it would be a bit harsh to call him a flop yet, but it obvious that he hasnt had his most productive season
he has a fair share of injuries
however if he doesnt start gettin some goals now thats he seems fit for the rest of this season and the start of the next he may be viewed as a flop
gotta say though imo he will come good for chelsea, he is a proven goalscorer and surely his class will soon start to emerge
