WTF? Why are you shouting about 1-1 with Real and Monaco if it finished 4-1? :eh: Am I missing something here?

FD

Fell asleep in the Real/Mon game as well FD, uh? Must be that beer you got

Well well, the atmosphere was fookin' electric at the bridge. Now then, imagine a FA cup QF/SF, the English contingent will know what i mean, they are fookin' serious games. This was like that, but 100 times more so. Sure, if you're a neutral you don't feel it, but fuck me, we were up for it tonight!! There were times when we were just attacking the Arse goal. Might i add that the officials were absolutely woeful. Desailly sent off for what exactly? As it was a Premiership affair, we should have at least had a Scottish or Irish ref, sodding Spaniards don't have a clue what a Premiership match entails. A sweet goal by Eidur, perfectly put away. If that was Henry who did that you gooners would have creamed you're pants. Ok, so they got the away goal, but it's all set up for the next leg. But if they get through Real/Arsenal will be a mouth watering Semi.

Peace. \:D/

PS FD, i'll be watching you hoops tomorrow against Ronaldinho.

I don't know why your complaining about Desailly's sending off, it serves him right for knocking the ball out of Jens Lehmann's hand, and although there was minimal contact with Vieira for the second yellow, it was still a bookable offense for intent if nothing else.

yeah, the Lehmann thing was well cheeky, but he wasn't booked for that, and that didn't effect play in any way. Viera, however, did his best Porto impression. An 8.5 i think.

Er..... Desailly was booked for the Lehmann incident, and Vieira didn't dive, he was just anticipating the challenge and trying to avoid it, he's not that type of player.

c'mon be honest that was a blatant dive which is sadly happening far too often in the game, he knew wot he was doing and succeded in getting desailly sent off

Yeah he dived cause the thought of a one on one with the keeper didn't sound promising. Desailly was sent off and he deserved to go.

I thought Eidurs goal was a great finish, if he'd taken one more touch it would have been cleared of the line.

i have to be honest and say that most players would have dived in viera's postion there, i wasnt merely criticising him but almost all footballers who dive in similar situations. its the fact that diving is now such a prominant part of the game that upsets me....

Otherwise known as diving mate, c'mon, who do you think you're kidding? I'll always admit when my team does something wrong. Viera knew Desailly was on a yellow, and dived to get him sent off. Sadly such antics are now professional tactics in modern football.

You mean that some footballers fall over in order to win a free kick/penalty even when they arent touched, I am shocked and stunned by that statement

I remember Bergkamp getting a straight red for intent against the scousers 2 years ago in the cup, it was Desailly's stupidity with the first booking that got him the red card.

Yep, for a while there I thought 'Oh, F*CK!' This is lousy, then Lamps scored that second and I thought 'Ok, the game's ON now!' and then Jimmy cracked the third one and it was SUCH a relief!;)

I'm optimistic towards the second leg against Arse. I still think we have a chance. But Ranieri's gotta put Jimmy and Eidur up front, and Duff on the left. I think a lot will depend on the team selection.

Oh come on folks. We win again, and this thread is quiet. We have Arsenal in a few days and this thread is quiet. We are second in the league, and this thread is quiet. Celebrate, Talk, Comment, Dont let this thread sink!

Great win at Tottenham. Hahah, Cousins Lampard and Redknapp. He wants to kick him for busting his lip open!

Right boys, a big game tomorrow. They are without Reyes and Ljundberg which hopefully can only help. There's still the threat of Henry and Pires of course. What are the chances of us narrowing down the Arsenal silverware to 1 from 3? ;)
We need an early goal, (normally from Eidur) and take it from there. Sure they've beaten us for a while, but if we were to turn it round, just this once, it would make up for so much, because this would hurt. I think we have a few neutrals on our side too, as undoubtebly, Arsenal are the team to beat this season. I just hope we play well and give it a good go.
C'mon lads! [-o<
