The tournament will be held from 19 January to 10 February 2013 by the usual scheme, the Final will be held on the stadium Soccer City in Johannesburg.

Only one year has passed since the last African Cup, held in Gabon and Eq. Guinea and ended the sensational victory of Zambia. And, again, it is time to gather 16 best teams in Africa to identify the best on the black continent. And no where else, and where almost three years ago to the sound of vuvuzel was "battles" of World Cup 2010, in South Africa. We are again able to enjoy that atmosphere, those mesmerizing stadiums that we've seen on the last Mundial. Unfortunately because of the unusual system of selection associated with the transition of the tournament in odd years, we will not see in this tournament teams such as Egypt, Cameroon, Sudan, Senegal, Libya, Guinea. But there are also several newcomers, such as Cape Verde, Niger (2 time), Togo (First time since the tragedy in Angola) and Ethiopia (not took part for 30 years). Good luck to them.

Well, without further ado, I can only say that I hope the tournament will be a very interesting and fascinating. And I, after a long absence, postorayus as a year ago to present it in a complete and clear manner. Happy viewing! ;)

ye mane cote d'ivoire are favourites imo, especially after being dicked by zambians on penalties last year. and there are a few of the top african teams missing this which is shame but also nice to see different nations.
 
Quite boring first match, both teams lack that one quality player who can raise the overall team performance. South Africac used to have this in Pienaar, but unfortunately for Bafana Bafana he has retired for the South African team. South Africa was lacking a creative player, and they were constantly trying to play clever balls through but they couldn't pull any good ball off. Only player I was impressed by was Majoro, but he isn't a real goalscorer. Cape Verde has a solid defence and they held on well at the back. Ryan Mendes looks like a promising player, just lacks the physique to compete with the big defenders. He was easily isolated by big guys Khumalo and Sangweni because Mendes and Heldon were the only real attacking threat it was easy to close them down.

Hopefully Angola - Morocco will be a better match.
 
cape verde could of even maybe grabbed a winner but the game was quite dull and fuck these vuvuzelas'
 
Agreed, hopefully Ghana can put on a show. :)

Didn't see a lot of Angola - Morocco, because I was watching Brest - Saint-Etienne and Juventus - Udinese. (One streamed, other on tv! :D) So I can't properly judge on that match.
 
Great matc between Zambia and Ethiopia, massive respect to Ethiopia! A man down and still equalising with the reigning champions, well done!

Nigeria and Burkina Faso now, very nice goal from Emenike, after a fantastic flick on by Ideye Brown. :)
 
Can is so tight this time round loving how the so called lesser teams are playing very well. Burkina Faso / Ethiopia played extremely well.

Can't wait to watch north African derby Tunisia v Algeria

Great game by the Ethiopians. Played in ten against the champions, and still have a chance to win, it is great deal. Well done!

After these results, I think their next match against Burkina Faso, will be even more interesting than the match Zambia and Nigeria. :P

If Traore will continue to hammer these balls in the same spirit, I have no doubt that soon it will become a national hero in Burkina Faso, if not already become.
 
I think this was the best day so far for the ACON.
The Cote d'Ivoire/Togo match was awesome, so many chances and that last minute win was the cherry on top, but the Algeria/Tunisia match wasn't that good, too many lost balls, and static moments for me, but that Msakni goal was just amazing!
 
Yep, the first match was very good! Good to see Gervinho scoring, wasn't the easiest finish.

Unfortunately, I missed Msakni's goal.

to make it we have to eliminate the host country wich can't afford to loose.
I don't believe we can, we don't have the needed level to do that. the 2 points we got so far are dued to pure luck, we should have lost both games.
