Bundesliga 2008/2009

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

they want to keep him until the winterbreak.

To be honest I don't think it's his fault. For last season to be so good and now this one, you have to question the players and the signings. Why were Barbarez and Van Buyten allowed to leave?

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

they wanted to extend their contracts with at least the same amount of omney they had before, but the club's plan was to cut their wages (barbarez, beinlich) + put young players in front of them (de jong f.e.) who earned like twice the money of a player being in the club for years (barbarez)

van buyten: it's hard to keep a player with an offer from bayern, same for boulahrouz.

still, most of their signings are horrible (kompany: 8 million €, out for the season, sorin 3 million, not played 2 single games in a row yet...etc.) and they have incredible bad luck with injuries...

If we were to talk about dissapointments so far, you'd most likely have no other choice but to mention the whole Hamburger SV squad. Not living up to the expectations would be a compliment still, considering they only won a single match in seventeen games and were slaughtered in the UCL.
Bayern still has ambitions in both national and their international competition, being the only top-team to achieve that. However, their overall performances were rather a let down.
I expected a lot more from Borussia Dortmund as well.

Just like the last three years Bremen is celebrating football on the pitch most of the time. Diego did not only replace Jo Micoud, so far his consistent brilliance really outshines the big shadow the "genius" left.
In a shape like this, Werders team is the hottest candidate for the 2007 title.
Good thing for the runners-up: the gap is minimal!

:)

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

Bastian Reinhard....omg!!! How the hell could he score an own goal like that, and give away the points (again!) Just typical of Hamburgs season so far, constant blunders by defenders and goalies, while last year the defence was their main strength and they won many 1-0 games thanks to them. Without van Buyten they lack their natural leader, and Boulahrouz was also great for them.

They should have gotten Co Adriaanse when they had the chance, now hes signed for Metalurg Donetsk. I think he could have gotten them back on track, interesting who will try to get now...

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

doll still there it seems, but van maarwijk now gone at dortmund. they wanted hitzfeld to take over, but he is not interested

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

german cup today, aachen 3:0 ahead against bayern at halftime :D

I hate you! ;)

The weird thing is, they were not even that bad. Had a lot of decent chances to score but a magnificent freekick and two counterattacks burst the bubble ... :(

Bring on Poldi! Time to score four times! :D

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

Whoo!!! Go Aachen, awesome result for them!

Bayern made it interesting again in the second half (good goal by Mark van Bommel) but Jan Schlaudraff put Aaachen through! They have a great atmosphere there btw.

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

what a big surprise Aachen beat B.munich!!!! but who played for Bayern? The "fridge"players or the regulars??

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

all the way their best players, they only used their second keeper rensing instead of kahn:)

van bommel and schlaudraff goals both awesome!

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

HSV now bottom and surrender a 1-0 lead for the eighth time this season, how much more faith can they have in Doll to turn it around?:)

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

HSV... :-s

This is horrible to see. From one extreme last season to this. Surely they can't go down for the first time in their history?

Re: Bundesliga 2006/2007

Thomas Doll most likely will not be in charge anymore tomorrow which is good but probably too late to avoid the relegation. I am going to start accepting the fact that after this season we won't be the last Bundesliga club who was never relegated in history (over 40 years). Too many mistakes have been made which are almost impossible to solve.
