Sticking to the position is a good idea and I do try - though one of the games last night - think were a spanish team, we again were both CM and I wasnt sure which player (in real life) did the holding. As I was a number 10 and looked skilfull, I thought I should bomb on - but then you were too at times.

Think its easier with teams you know - i.e. Arsenal, one could sit as Gilberto and one can roam with Fabregas.

This is were the mics come in to play too - to shout when to hold etc.

Anyway, sure we'll all get there!!

If we stick to the same people in the same teams, we'll get to know each others preferred style. I did notice BitterRivals liked to run with the ball a lot and attacked an awful lot though ;)

Mics are needed though I think. It'd be good if it said who was speaking at the time though, because last night I just heard two voices who sounded VERY similar :(

You really have to be alert to who is around you, how much time you have etc. Its almost as if you have to play 5 seconds in front - almost knowing what you are going to do with the ball once you get it - seeing space open up etc.

The normal cam is a bit more relaxed as you can see everything - but, I'll stick to the BAP cam and have panic attacks!

Mate, don't start having attacks while you're playing! You'll be clear through, your player just standing there while you're collapsing at home! We'll be like "oh here we go, another PBoreham attack *sigh*" :lmao:

lol really!

i think i had a mare lastnight, found it difficult to have a pass on in my head, well done to the opposition lasnight i think

i normally try and play simple passing , but it's not much point doing it if the team is attack attack, which i find happens allot and you can get caught up in it.

i prefer the build up in all honsety (much more rewarding)

I didn't know you could change the camera till the other day. the BAP cam is frustrating for me as I can't get my groove on. I can't see all people around me.

I'm gonna try it on tele next time.

I much prefer the build-up and slow play too. There was a few times when I got the ball on the wing and assumed the opposition expected me to dart down the line, so I passed it back. I'd like to think I caught some of their players out and left them out of position ;)

I should be on again tonight, quite late though, maybe 9pm or so.

Can you have 2 players using the same console in the same team? ie. 2 in my house and then 3 others using 3 other consoles wherever they may be in the world.
Just wondering. I'm a PS3 user (if that makes any difference).

Ha! I'll be fine... deep breaths!

I love the way you can buy yourself time with the BAP cam though - sometimes when I got the ball, I did a little trick and sidestepped my opponent, then it opens up for you!

The BAP cam is also great for seeing shots hit 'at you' if you know what I mean? Some of the screamers from the other side last night - particularly Kanoute(!) look great in BAP.

Its the opposite when attacking though... I went through 1 v 1 as Zigic of Valencia and I could barely make him out the cam zoomed back so far...

when we were in the lobby the was a blank space where he was, and in the game i rarely saw his name flash up

must be some sort of bug

I rarely saw his name too, it popped up on occasions. I thought he was playing "Any" because he just seemed to pop up randomly?

Yeah there were some great games last night

As for the AI, if you your individual players are spaced out then the AI is spot on with passes. We had 2 centre mids, a winger and a striker, so when the CPU got the ball there was nearly always one of us in space to pass to.

You have to ask for the ball like you would in real life, hes not going to play it through a crowd so drop into space and ask for it and 9/10 he will pick you out. B is a handy button for the AI as well because that gets them to hoof the ball, so thats good to use when your defenders have it

I was linking up brilliantly with my AI strike partner last night just by getting into space and pressing A or Y to get the ball and also the RB to make him run ahead of me

Kanoute is a Legend :)

Oh and its all about the talking, Tim with a wide free kick with me telling him to put it back post, he said run onto it which i did resulting in a cracking goal. My highlight of the night

I would like to defend myself against the many comments that I am just out to kill every player I tackle, some of them are genuinely mistimed but for the most part I am out to kill as its the holding midfielders job to break it up in any way possible.

Was a quality night last night and I think we have found an awesome foursome to take on the World ;)

Just going back to the Turkish game, I thought it was hilarious how we seemed to get beat and then get to the Turkish game and took a 3-0 lead so easily ... and to be hanging by a thread in the second half and the last few minutes :lol:

Cries of "boot it" and "get it out!" could be heard by me and I assume PBoreham, quality :lol:

What do all the icons mean? I presume the ball means pass to me, up arrow means do a through ball and circle means pass to me so I can take a shot? Not sure what the player icon means when pressing square.

Or am I completely barking up the wrong tree and they mean something else altogether?

The player icon comes on when you press for an extra defender to press the player with the ball. The target is when you call to shoot, ball is for a pass. Haven't seen any others.

You hear your team mates all game and the other team whenever the ball is out of play (only till play resumes) and pauses

An Arrow which means through ball

Thats a point as well, pressing is vital in the game but only at the right time. You cant hold it down much because it drags defenders out of position. I only press it when player is very close to the person i want to press

Cheers guys. My assumptions were correct apart from the player icon. I know single player is close down but it didn't seem to do much for me when in BAP mode.

Ahhhhhh... I wonder if mine was working ok then and due to the fact most of my team were not mic'd, I didnt hear anything till the ball was dead - when the rest of you came in.

I did wonder... so is that 100% true - you only hear your team during open play, and then the 'room' when the ball is dead (i.e. cheering after a goal!).

That makes sense!
