Battlefield : Bad Company Series

Shame their is no replay function in the full game as BF1 was full of 'wow!' moments online that you'd wish you could show off.

EA has detailed the free unlockable content that will be provided with next week's launch of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as part of the company's Project Ten Dollar initiative to make pre-owned sales less attractive.

A code in the box will unlock two maps at launch: Laguna Alta, Rush mode, bringing the total number of maps to 10.

Two further maps will be released later in March at no extra cost if you have the code: Arica Harbor in Conquest and Laguna Presa in Rush.

The press release is open that the maps are "available in the box" and simply unlocked by entering the supplied VIP code, for which you'll need an internet connection (you'll need one to play multiplayer too, obviously). Kotaku has confirmed that the data for the maps is on the game disc, although the PC

If you do pick up a second-hand copy of the game with the code already claimed, you'll be able to access the maps by buying a new code from EA for $15, so maybe Project Ten Pound would have been a better title.

On another note... I thought DICE said things like this were not going to be an issue with BF BC2.

i've got mixed feelings about that Rad, in the vid the guy gets shot in the ankle/calf area and one shot in that region with a sniper rifle would definitely incapacitate you, especially if it hit the bone. i didn't see the hand shot (i'm at work so can't keep watching it). you still can be revived remember.

it does seem like your going to get alot of snipers on hardcore mode, but you do in MW2 aswell. it's one of those things, if your not in cover then your going to get shot at.

The hand shot was in the other video but it didn't show up. I posted this on another forum and then copy/pasted it here but the 2nd vid was one of those 'embedding disabled' ones so i just removed the vid but forgot to delete the text.

There were 2 examples - 1 was some guy was running and the sniper fired and was aiming at his arm at the time - it would have hit the hand but it kills them instantly ----- the other was a sniper lay down and then player comes behind him and pistol kills him by shooting him in the wrist area.

I do like the look of it - makes it all more realistic - it just seems it will be full of snipers who will be playing it for kills ignoring the objectives. The first game was plagued with snipers and the beta/demo is as well so this mode will end up even worse.

9/10 from Eurogamer, a GLOWING review and better than MW2? Interesting.

I'll pick it up but will only play the SP, I think I'm bored of online gaming nowadays.

I LOVE defending.

I never noticed if in the demo you could respawn where a teammate was.
With this possibility I can't complain anymore. Weapons seem more accurate which is great.

Time to try solo before France/Spain.

Its getting such positive reception I might end up buying it on Friday now. Damn there are way too many games coming up!

^ Same here mate. Think I'll be purchasing this.

As a side note, I don't think Eurogamer said it was better than MW2, they merely said the original MW is the benchmark for these sort of games, and BC2 surpasses it.

I was going to pass on this and save my money for God of War 3 but I traded in a few games today and got £100 (and 1 p) so looks like I'll be grabbing it in the morning.

got £20 for uncharted 2 which surprised me as that's been around for ages.

I don't think I could sell Uncharted 2 purely on the fact it was so good, and I'll no doubt want to play through it again for the 4th time.

The single player is very good so far, the sound is amazing.

Get the feeling I'm gonna be on this all tomorrow.

It's brilliant when you get in a squad of mates and do things properly, especially when we've all got mics.

Trading in MW2 because it's a pile of shite.

Finished the game a couple of hours ago. And yes, it is really short. But also really enjoyable. I'm not much of a FPS or (non-free roam) singleplayer player, but I really enjoyed this and much prefer it to the paintball-like experience of Modern Warfare 2. The story isn't the best but still entertaining as a random brain dead action movie. Now onto the multiplayer which really is why I bought the game at all. :)
