Arsenal Thread

Special _One he goes to clubs that offer him a purse , then leaves them or get sacked. Changing the relation between media n managers? mmmm ...interesting he`s known to disrespect refs, players, coaches n fans. ;)

Exactly bebo that's all Mou and the press wants. José's mind games are very useful to take out pressure in his team. On the other hand, the press loves those big and scandal headlines. I think his behaviour leads into a new level between how a manager prepares all game aspects and the way he influences the media.

hence why he loves going to hollywood for Training (Chels/Inter) Mayweather is an entertainer 1st and boxer 2nd. Mourinho is 1st a protagonista and manager 2nd ?

For what it's worth:

Just read in the Belgian papers that after all, Vermaelen will not need surgery. At the beginning of the week there was a fall back (is that English?) in his revalidation, but after further examination it transpired that the fall back is less worse than supposed. Wenger is reported saying that surgery will not be necessary and that only patience will help. Wenger has asked for a few more weeks patience.
In the same articles i read that Arsenal are interested in Upson to replace Vermaelen and Squilacci.

Upson isn't that bad beboq.

Just read that Arsenal have sent Wellington Silva to Levante. I thought Wenger would given him some minutes. Anyway this guy is a top prospect, my expectation are high on him

Has he got a UK work permit yet? It sounds similar to when Wenger sent Vela out on loan in Spain for a couple of seasons before he was granted a work permit to play in England.

Watched Arsenal this weekend agian and loved Nasri. He's really playing well. With him and Fabregas fit, you're a threat for every other team in the Premiere and Europe. On the other hand, some of the deffense was blatant abysmal. That pass to the keeper in the first half was atrocious!

Yes that back pass of Djourou was indeed atrocious. But i also agree on Nasri, i think that he's better than Zidane at the same age (but Zidane developed rather slow).
Yesterday there was an interview with Vermaelen on Belgian television, he will have surgery after all...i claimed otherwise in this thread. I was wrong...sorry.

yeah Gerd I`m taking your words with a grain of salt :P You`re our Belgian connection. Vermaelen is a bit special even though you don`t rate him as so.

Yes, our defense is not up to scratch and it hasn`t been for yrs imo .BUT! they only defensive pair on another lvl is on mutd . No other teams defensive department is up to scratch in the league. For some strange reason I`m not even bother by our GK`s anymore

No team has got the bull by the horns. Unpredictable season and the worst season I`ve seen. ManCity on top is just farce, Mutd weak attacks farce, Chels all over farce. Liverpool well, farce. Spuds ,well their just playing their normal self. Arsenal , well...huh  well the season is not that bad. I`m just saying everyone is dropping pts. everyone is playing badly some just worst then others. Shite season ! you do know if Arsenal win I will have to delete this, just saying.

The atmosphere in the dressing room isn't so good, it seems. Recently Fabregas had a dig at Denilson after the 1st leg against Leeds. A couple of days ago Denilson gave an interview to Arsenal Brasil website and was quoted saying "Fabregas is a captain, but not a leader, which is a quality lacking in this team".

If you look at Fab's twitter page, he posted a picture with Denilson, making it all look alright, but I don't buy it.

Let's see how the team goes tonight at Leeds.

Yeah big game tonight, it is going to be very hard. We need to play well to progress. They can easily beat us with our second team out and no determination from us (which happened in the last game).

Fab and Denilson might be having a pop at eachother, but it doesn't mean the whole atmosphere in the dressing room will be crap.

Denilson for me needs to go, he isn't taking his chances when he gets a game and just looks to coast through games. When Ramsey is back fully and Diaby he won't even get a look in anyway.

For all I care Denilson could f**k right off. Diaby wouldn't be missed as well.
Ramsey could take a while to fit in again, but Wilshere is fitting the bill perfectly.

We should get rid of both Denilson and Diaby really and get a strong holding midfielder. We are packed with light skillful midfielders, but almost no brute force. If we didn't have a gem like Song we would be screwed.

Diaby has the potential to be great, but he never has a good long run of games to prove himself because of his injuries. If he did have a good run, I do think he would prove himself.

We do definately need another Song, that goes without question. We have no back up for him and that leaves us very vulnerable.

In the matches that i saw him Diaby was always one of the better Arsenal players...is he injured at the moment?

Yeah, I think he should be back soonish. But he is always back for maybe a month and then when he starts getting games and getting better, he has another niggly injury and is out for another month or longer.

He still has that attitude which quite a few of our players have, when they think they just have to turn up and they will win. If he tried 100% in everygame he would be really good. When he has performed he has been a huge asset for us, but he has been too inconsistant, mainly due to injury.

Arshavin is stuck in the mud. Chamakh was getting amongst it ,but Nasri is such a clever player. I don`t want to jinx it , I`m loving this Van Persie :BOP:

All of our players played pretty well yesterday.

If Arshavin shows that much heart in the next few games, I am sure he is going to be rewarded. He was up and down the pitch and looking to take on players etc. His confidence is just so low at the moment, he needs a goal.

Bendtner also, alot of people don't like him and he doesn't do many great things. But he always gives it everything when he is on the pitch and I love that about him. He was also involved with two of the goals and his cross for the 3rd was perfection.

Another mention for Djourou and Koscielny, they both played really well. I know it was Leeds, but they are starting to look good together.

If Van Persie can keep fit, then I can see him being on fire and with Fab and Nasri playing like they have been, we really can be a force. Just need to get it right mentally and we can go far....but that is the big question mark over this team.

Anyway great performance :DD

Ashavin showed heart? where? he was shit as per usual

Showing heart and being shit are completely different.

He was trying his hardest in that game. He was attacking, trying to find space and getting amongst the play. He was even getting back and defending, which he wasn't dong at all at the begginning of the season.

I am Arshavin's biggest critic, but only when it looked like he coasted through games and looked like he didn't give a shit. But against Leeds I think he showed that he really wanted to play well not only for himself but also for the team.

If he plays like that in the next few games I am sure he will put in a great performance and get out of this rut and get his confidence back.
