Arsenal Thread

Arshavin is a mystery. His latest goal was remarkable, that one where he caught a rebound and steered it in with a fantastic volley. And yet, he's capable of bizarre bloopers like that finish against Leeds... That was actually funny, even he laughed at that, even if the crossbar was 5 times higher he would still have missed

I agree with Bobby though, all he needs is a good performance and maybe play more frequently, cause we all know he has it in him.

As for Koscielny, he is turning into some player alright! His confidence is at the top. He was great defensively and also played awesome long balls to Sagna.

Trivia: did you know that Arsenal's 2nd goal against Leeds was only Sagna's 3rd in all of his career? It's always a joy when this player scores, and I was lucky enough to witness one of his goals at the Emirates :)

This Arsenal side going forward looks incredible having RVP fit is just joy all over!! RVP 2nd goal was immense even Beckham was applauding :APPLAUD: . btw Fabregas is simply the best player in PL period!

But it doesn't change the fact Fabregas is a better player but I agree, I think its between Nasri, Nani and Berbatov for POTY.

Nani or Berba nah, not even close Vidic is mutd best player thru n thru . Berba might get the golden boot. Yeah, Nasri is having a great season so far no doubt. I`m just talking how Fabregas has been consistent through the years , maybe not getting goals scored . Just look how every Arsenal player holds the ball n flicks it ....Fabregas has made clones of himself and everyone seems to be coming from that mold. I dare to say Nasri is who he is today by the influences of old fabby.

Tevez ,Nasri ,Van de vaart ,Vidic
are PFA material for me , but I feel Fabregas has been more consistent through out the years. That why I said imo is the best player in the premier. Even though Rio think Nasri is having the best season, well he said he`ll vote for him.

Van Persie in form such a joy to have him. I am just praying he can last until the end of the season. Fabregas is amazing aswell :DD

Nasri has improved enormous, but i still rate Fabregas higher.
The Spurs player in that PFA list should be Modric, but it definitely is Vidic who deserves it most of all this year...over the 5 or 6 last year there is no doubt: Fabregas.

I wonder what team he will pick tonight? I would go for a top first eleven and hopefully kill the game off in the first half, so we can sub a couple early on.

We need to get into this final!

yippee!

took a while, but we got there in the end.

I really like Bendtner, he always wants the ball and some of his passing to open up teams and crossing is top quality imo. Ok he still has quite a bit to learn, but if he sorts it out he could be really good.

I really hope Arshavin gets his groove back, If we had him playing well, Nasri, Fab and Van Persie all on form then we will take some beating.

Hopefully they don't let us down in the final :DD

IT`s the Final Countdown!!!! I was a nervous wreck before the half throwing profanity at Denilson,Arshite n Bendtner, but ...they all 3 turned it around and made it count. Bendtner`s goal, smooth n sharp finishing.

We played 8 games 1 more on Sunday . Imagine how sharp we`ll be when we play 1 game per week :BOP: ...no injuries plz :))

explain to me the rules about ref interference again? a drop ball cesc was livid

Gutted about Brazilian NT call for the upcoming match against France:

Lucas (Liverpool); Ramires (Chelsea); Sandro (Tottenham); Anderson (Manchester United)

Deni's probably better than all of those (maybe not Ramires). I'll root for Arsenal France this time.

If i would be Wenger, the first player to ship off would be Denilson. IMO he is the weak link when he plays. Compare him to Song and Diaby...well they 're much better.

But who am i of course.

I think Denilson can take part in most of the season with an acceptable performance, Gerd, but he isn't at the level for the big matches. There, Arsenal needs Song or Diaby there for sure!

Well drekkard, to undermine my own post, i've read on a very good site about tactics that Denilson is tactically extremely important for Arsenal's way of playing...i only see a player that is not as good as Song, Diaby and (before that) Flamini (who Arsenal miss IMO).

Denilson for me could be a consistantly good player if he sorted himself out mentally.

At the moment he is only effective if he plays against middle of the road sides. If the team he plays is of a much lower standing than Arsenal, he becomes complacent. If the teams are of an equal level or higher, then he doesn't seem to assert himself correctly.

He is a weird player and to be fair to him, I think he lacks something because he is out of the team so often. But he just doesn't do it for me, he is a good back up player and that is it at the moment.

But he will not ever get picked ahead of Diaby and Song with his current mentality. Like a few of our players, the potential is there, but there is just something missing that doesn't make them progress.

About 2 maybe 3 years ago I thought he was going to be amazing, but he just hasn't got any better imo.

I don't know where you guys got the idea that Diaby is any good. In my books he's a sack of shite, worse and more inconsistant than Denilson even. At least Denilson has much more accuracy in his passing. Diaby should be a physical player, given his size and power, but not even that... plus, his first touch is disastrous.

Both of them don't stand a chance in a team with Song and Wilshere.

I say dump Denilson and Diabolical and get one decent DMF.

I don't think Diaby is shit at all, inconsistant yes, but not shit. I also think his inconsistancy is due to him always being injured. So I don't want to see him go, until he gets a good run in the team, so we can properly have a good look at him.

The thing is the handful of games Diaby has had a good game, he has been the best player on the pitch and showed glimpses of being a really good player. If he can do that on a more consistant basis, then it could be great for us.

It is all 'ifs' and 'buts' but I would like to give him another season at least, to look at the injuries etc and see if he can produce.

Think most think Diaby is good by the way he holds up the ball and his movement w/ the ball. His movement w/o the ball is average his passing n game brain is not at the level. Where as Jack is so eager to learn , his brain game is at a higher level then most.

But we can never know when Denilson or Diaby game can change from zero to hero. If their not crying on the bench then leave them in the squad  Cesc, Nasri n RVP being fit won`t help them get games and rightly so! I`m a believer that a good player will rise to the top regardless of the amount of talent and Jack proves that. Saying that, Jack at 19 should never being playing as a starter. So, shame on Diaby, Denilson ,because Jack went from a CAM to a DM :P

Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said:
“A, it’s not something we could possibly do and B, even if we could, I wouldn’t want to do it. If some bloody Russian wants to buy the place and everyone wants to sell, then okay, I will go and grow tomatoes in Kent!

“But, if you’ve got a benefactor and he gets run over by a bus, you’re gone. We’ve got to have 50,000 people run over by a bus before we have a problem!”

Some call it stubborn, some might even say non-compromising stance . They stick to their guns, and won`t spend on any player. Why do I fall for it every window. :COAT: In wejger wee trust! oh boy

makes me think about something. many say that arsenal is the most un-british team because we had only one or two english players in the team. well, now we have two bright young stars: jack and theo. but did any of them thought that maybe arsenal is the only club that didn't sell out. as francais or wenger-ish it may get.

Read an interview with Vermaelen.
He says he will be out at least until march.
According to him, meanwhile has found somebody that can fill the gap at CB: 19 year old Croatian CB Sime Vrsaljko from Dynamo Zagreb. He seems to be a bright prospect. Never heard of him.

No, DIABY IS NOT BETTER THAN DENILSON

Diaby need to be sold, he's pretty much useless, especially in defensive positions since he's a yes... attacking midfielder.

He's horribly inconsistent and totally ineffective most of the time. I mean that disaster game against West Brom where we lost 3-2 kinda summed him up!

He's been here for 5 years now and he's really not progressed much at all.

Where i feel sorry for Denilson is he's very much a center midfielder at best but he's used as a defensive midfielder and he's not the best defensively. He's very much an all round player rather than a defensive specialist!

Denislon is a much better player and far better than some of those players picked ahead of him for the Brazil national team. Sandro? WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I agree he is more an attacking midfielder and he really has no place as a defensive midfielder. I think people think he should be a defensive midfielder because of his size?

but to say he is useless is very harsh. I've seen Diaby at least on a couple of occasions play amazing, that is when he fought off the injuries for a while.

He hasn't progressed in 5 years mainly due to the constant injuries. On that basis I wuold only get rid of him because he is injury prone. But I would love him to show us a full season where he wasn't injured as I think he will suprise alot of people.

Denilson has been at Arsenal just as long or even longer than Diaby and has regresses imo. I remember him a few seasons ago and he was hungry and played really well on alot of occasions and showed so much promise. But if anybody has the title of not progressing, then it is Denilson imo. I would like to keep him as he is a decent squad player, if he is happy to stay like that.

For me Diaby has dissapointed alot, but I don't think he can be properly judged until he has a decent run without injury. When he has played well he has played really well, just a shame he hasn't done it more often.

we play at 12 dont we. what kind of time is that! damm it im going to miss the match!

ahh well nevermind. my prayers will be for a arsenal win :)
