Arsenal Thread

replace him with a Marek Hamsik =p ahah

let fab leave for 30mil plus yaya toure and we have a whole new team..thats what we need...change=p. We already sign a foward...now we get a decent backup defender and were set. Ramsey will improve, wilshere will improve...I think we can definatly be solid next year.

Doubt it, Azpilicueta is miles better and has a great future ahead of him. Rumours state that Barcelona have a serious interest on him.

Gallas, Senderos and Fabianski will leave.

+ Sylvestre.

Doubt Fabianski will go. He'll most likely hang on for a couple of seasons yet. He doesn't really look up to it but I'm loathe to judge players too early these days, as the case of Alex Song goes emphatically to prove.

From what i see from Arsenals squad, these, for me, should be going asap:

Almunia, Fabianksy
Gallas, Silvestre, Senderos
Vela

That is crazy, both GK's.
Almunia is a decent GK, should be at least a back-up GK.
I still think he's got potential as first GK for Arsenal.

i'm in doubt that wenger sees the gk position as problematic.
he mentioned 1 maybe 2 transfers will be made. i honestly hope it'll be 2.
there's speculation on frey from fiorentina. he's french and would be great.
another one: mexes? anyone?

Thats because our defence coach is shit. gallas, vermahlen, clichy and sagna all have the ability to defend as a world class defender but they simply dont defend well as a "team"

It's not about the defence. Defending is something you do as a team.
That's the flip side of Arsenal's attacking style...
Arsenal need a strongman as DMF (like i already said: someone like Van Bommel).

Gallas will be off, so will silvestre. So I think we will need a very good central defender to partner Vermaelen and a back up. Although i think Djourou can step up next season. but with our injuries we need to reeplace both Gallas and Silvestre.

We suffer defencively because we are always pushing forward and attacking usually.

If Fab Goes then we need a replacement for him and someone to fill in for Song aswell. Can't see anybody good enough to play songs role when he isn't around.

If Fab stays then I think we need great goalkeeper, two defenders (one great, one backup) and a midfielder as back up for song.

Doubt we will get all of that, but I think we need that if we want to have a succesful season.

We do have an abundance of midfielders that all have the potential to turn into great midfielders, but we can't wait to much longer for them.

I am still really worried aswell that Wenger wont get a new keeper. lets wait and see.

I would like to do some sort of business w/ Bolton`s Gary Cahill and loan back wilshire possibly dropping the fee. Face it we need an English stopper !

i hope we don't regret merida's departure

Yeah I think he will be a really good player. But it was clear he was way down the pecking order when it came to being given a game. I think he has made the best decision for himself.

I can see him being a quality player.

Hey guys, if the Fabregas deal is really going through and we do get Toure from Barca, what would people think of this formation?

GK (we desperately need a replacement)
Sagna ------ missing DF ----- Vermaelen ----- Clichy
-------Song ------- Toure---------
Walcott ----- Chamakh ----- RvP ------ LW (edit: Andrey)

not sure who we'd put out wide, maybe Nasri or Rosicky? Given Wenger's previous spending policy, it wouldn't be too outrageous if we just strengthened the backline with a better keeper and CB.

Fab: "I'll leave it up to Wenger."

Well from that you can imagine what their conversation must have been;
"You can go if the price is right, but you know that you owe this club your current status. So, leave it up to me, enjoy the World Cup and we'll see what will be."

As Cesc is now with the Spain squad the pressure on him to move will be enormous. I guess we just have to hope he can maintain some mental focus and not be influenced too much.

even if we win something? doubt it. his number one reason for leaving us is that we dont win fuck all according to cesc

The number one reason he wants to leave is to play for Barcelona.

Personally I think if he does stay one more season if we win or lose, he will be off.

If he wins something, it will be the perfect opportunity to leave on a high. For us it would be great aswell, then we can get more money for him :))

But hopefully if we do win stuff, he will enjoy it and stay a bit longer :))
