Arsenal Thread

You lot couldn't be more of a bunch of shitehawks.

I'm actually with those saying 'Sack Wenger' now because you'll never play a different way.

Why the hell put Arshavin up front versus Carvahlo and Terry? That's gotta be one of the worst tactical decisions you could possibly make, especially when you've got Bendtner on the bench who is over six foot tall.

To be fair, you just played us and then Chelsea. You can't really say you've had a bad run of games. Its just a reality check. Maybe its just proved to you guys that you're not favourites for the title. Title contenders? Yes, but not favourites.

Of course you can question the tactics, I personally blame the variety in the squad and the lack of options you have available.

I`ve been getting more h8te from utd supporters than our own supporters  saying Mutd have to play 38 games while Chels plays 37 cause Arsenal rolled over ...damn

Wenger out!! his dug his own grave, 5 years worth of digging. Arsenal have become a joke.

People need to Calm down, we are Hardly a joke being third in the league?! We are not far off contending for the league, just need to learn how to defend again and we will be fine....and maybe score again ;))

Excellent supporters, ineffective football. Arsenal are not a joke, 3rd place (if we can sustain it, that is) is still better than last season. What is a joke is this situation as a whole. We're playing midgets there against towering defenders and still insisting on crosses into the box. And when a pass comes through that wall of defence, Nasri won't shoot! I think Peter Cech had to defend just 2 shots (Arshavin's and Fab's FK). Other than that it's all possession and no shots on goal, which is massively frustrating to watch as a fan IMO.

Now I'm ready to condemn our season. That's it. We lost 12 points to our biggest rivals, gave 'em 6 each. For the CL I'm not expecting nothing. We cannot keep on being lucky and avoiding Chelsea, United, Inter and Barcelona in the draws forever. One day we will be facing one of them in the quarters or semis and that will be it. I simply can't see us winning the CL with liabilities such as Almunia, Denilson and Clichy (again in poor form).

Just like it had been predicted, Arsenal threw away both FA and Carling Cup and now might end up winning fuck all again. It will be very hard for AW to justify things this time around. In January he knew that RVP would miss the rest of the season, had £40M sitting and didn't use it not even to get someone on loan!

Did he really think that Carlos Vela and a Nick Bendtner returning from injury would be enough? Not only that, he's been sacrificing Andrey Arshavin in a role that clearly isn't his. Add to this that our talented captain is hungry for success and we don't know what can happen in the near future.

I really don't want AW to go, as he makes Arsenal play beautifully. But those things need to be questioned and maybe his ego is really getting in the way.

Well Arsenal are still third, after two teams who are not financially healthy, while Arsenal are.
I don't see a reason why Wenger should be sacked.
The choice for Arshavin against Terry and Carvalho ? Not necessarily a bad one...Terry and Carvalho are not the fastest and most agile players; while Arshavin is...it could have turned out better...i don't think Bendtner is an alternative...IMO he's not good enough for Arsenal.

Once again: you miss Adebayor.
Wenger is still the best coach in the world...i rate him much higher than Ferguson and all the coaches Chelsea have had the last years...
You guys should have patience.

I'm quite amazed by this season, a couple of months ago you were out of it, 2 weeks ago top and now you're out of it again. Liverpool were out of 4th place ages ago and now, with possibly a win on wednesday, will be battling for 3rd again?!

Manu and Chelsea will drop points, whilst your run-in after this will be pretty straight forward, bar the mancity one.

Could still be interesting. My gut feeling is we're out of it now as usually at this time of year the top two teams start to pull away, but the fixture list has been kind (cruel?) this year as we have all three 'biggies' in a row. Our run-in is relatively smooth as a result, so who knows?

Tonight is massive now. We'll be out of the race for sure if we lose, but perhaps more pressingly, anything less than a win will see us sink into the mire of the scrap for 3rd/4th. City, Liverpool, Spurs and Villa are all snapping away like hungry dogs just beneath.

Defeat would be, I think it's fair to say without too much exaggeration, a disaster.

I don't think I could deal with another bad result. It's time for the lads to step up and show what they're made of.

After that there are still some tricky matches (City @ home and Tottenham away) so when people say we have an easy run ahead from now on, I'd say it ain't quite like that.

Anyway, I'll be there tonight. C'MON ARSENAL!

looks like Rafa will set the stall out on defend and counter attack... like Utd and Scumski.

That seems to be the way to beat us

Hopefully our boys will have learned something from the last couple of games.

If we win tonight, the games for Chelsea and Man utd are both possible of losing points with their games. So it makes things a bit better. It all depends on Torres I think (is he playing?) and maybe somebody like Benayoun on the break. They could run our defence ragged!

Anyway fingers crossed :DD

Both out, thankfully. As is Aquilani.

I hope Wenger goes for:

----------Almunia--------------

-----Vermaelen--Gallas---------
Sagna--------------------Clichy

-------------Song--------------
-------Diaby-------------------
----------------Fabregas-------

---Walcott----------Arshavin---
-----------Bendtner------------

I agree with midfield and forwards...

i'd like to see...

Almunia/Fabianski are both as bad as each other, but lets give the Pole a go - can't be worse than Flappy Almunia.

--------------Fabianski------------

Eboue----Campbell---Vermaelen---Gallas

I may be exaggerating here, but I think Manonne is a better option than both. At least he shows signs of raw talent, differently from the others.

And although Clichy's been poor I don't see Gallas accepting to perform as left back.

Results couldn't have gone much better than that! :))

If only Man utd lost ;))

now we have to go on a super run of games to be in with a shot, lets hope we can do that, now that we have got most of the big games out of the way.

Hopefully it will give us a boost.

Good result, but both teams were woeful the only difference was Maxi Rodriguez  stay on your feet Gerrard,Kuryt and Bendtner

look at the GD btw top teams that is massive

Chelsea 39
Mutd 41
Arsenal 31
Spurs 19 ( wigan 9-0 )
