I haven't seen Vermaelen play myself but some who have say hes not that good, We'll have to see. I think Gallas and Djourou would be a good pair if Vermaelen wasn't upto it. Your main worries are a CM partner for Cesc.
 
I think the transfer fees for Adebayor and Toure should be enough to get a world class player for the midfield. I hope Wenger really doesn't take any risks and just makes a quality buy.

Cheers Cesc, but as the report is in the Sun, I would take it with a pinch of salt.

Vieira would be better than no-one but I fear it will actually be no-one!

I think Viera would be a good signing purely for his influence and experience around the younger players and also the respect he would command in your seemingly unsettled dressing room.
 
Vieira, I don't see it happening. He is too old, hasn't been playing constantly and is far far away from the player he was in terms of fitness.

It doesn't look like Wenger at all. I'm sure he is keeping tabs on cheaper physical DM's in other leagues, specially Ligue 1.

Have you seen what Touré said at his unveilling at City? Funny stuff. Something about love. I think he's getting love and money all mixed up now.
 
So basically contrary to what was said yesterday, Wenger has said he will spend but only if the player and price is right. I dont see anything wrong with that. Reports are he's in talks with Viera and Matuidi.

I know Viera may be 'past it' but as I said yesterday I really dont think you can overlook the influence he would have on the younger guys, especially the French ones due to his experience and the respect he commands. He's your former captain who won a hoast of trophies and is still national team captain despite his patchy last couple of seasons.

If you signed those two and players like Eduardo and Rosicky can stay fit I think you'll have a good season.
 
I think Viera has as good as said he wont go back, I'm sure Wenger has his eye on at least two but we wont hear anything till they have sorted it or the other party goes public...

But even Wenger has spoken about it so who knows...

Do you think Wenger needs glasses, "how many players are standing up"... You seem to be shipping players out at a rate of knots from a squad most would argue far too weak before the end of last season...

Arsenals season is over before it even started unles wenger buys 3 new fucking players. i have a better chance of playing fifa10 next week then wenger signing 3 new players
