Arsenal Thread

Brilliant - not many times I wanted Spurs to win, but they did it. We just need to keep winning now :DD

Official Lineups:

Fabianski - Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Gibbs - Diaby, Song -
Walcott, Arshavin - Van Persie, Vela

Myhill - Ricketts, Gardner, Zayatte, Dawson - Ashbee,
Barmby, Geovanni - Fagan, Manucho, Halmosi

No1 commented about it yet? Im shocked.
IMO a deserved win, yet gallas was clearly offside but Hull just started defending with 10 mens at the back and barely attacking, so thats what they deserved and thats what you get when your defending for a margin of 1-0. I really liked Arshavin the guy seems to be as good as expected on the other side, Song is nowhere near Fabregas level, Cesc needs to recover so Arsenal can start thinking in the CL, since the title is impossible atm.

Song is not there to substitute Cesc's absence. He's a defending midfielder. And IMO he's got what it takes to be a proper DMF.

Yes, Gallas was offside. Maybe the linesman thought the ball came off the keeper's gloves, I don't know...

The thing is that Mike Riley and his assistants were terrible (again) last night. He even spotted a non-existing hand on the ball from Van Persie from 2 meters away. That among other wrong decisions against both sides.

Nonetheless it was well deserved. They got lucky with that goal coming totally by accident and after that defended with 10 men behind. It was still 30 minutes when they started to delay the game taking fucking ages to take free kicks, goal kicks and throw-ins. It couldn't be soon enough when the ref decided punishing this behaviour with yellow cards.

At the end of the day Hull deserved the defeat. After grabbing the lead they renounced playing football, so they got it coming IMO.

Is it any different than when your team takes the ball to the corner flag and holds it there?
yes it is because we dont do that for an hour . we do that towards the end of the match with 4-5 min left if that. Hull was doing that shit as soon as they scored.

i dont recall us doing that in the 1st half of a match!

Exactly Jonney well said. They were taking twice as long to do anything. Phil Brown had the cheek to say that Arsene got their goalkeeper booked?!!!

So it wasn't the fact the goalkeeper was taking 10mins just to kick the ball out everytime he got it?!

Hull and Phil Brown are just bitter and twisted, they feel like they were robbed for some reason! The scored a very flukey goal and then after about 30mins of the match we dominated (atleast Definately in the second half). The ref was also shit for both teams, so they can't feel that unjust.

All this shit about Fabregas spitting is just them being dicks. If Fabregas spat in the guys face or on his body, then fair enough. But they are saying he spat on the floor! If he gets a ban at all then it is ridiculous, also I don't know how they are going to prove it either!

They just need to accept the best team won and they need to concentrate on getting wins in the premiership and stop all this petty crap and stop acting like children and grow the fuck up!!!

i fucking hope they get relegated now. they talk and moan as if there a big team! i expect rafa and fergie sobbing like that after a loss(all top managers do that) but Phil brown? who the fuck is phil brown!!

But what did you really expect them to do? They didn't break any rules as far as the referee was concerned. If the boot was on the other foot, I'm sure you wouldn't complain.

But thats the thing they did it, yet THEY are still pissing and moaning about other stuff.

Basically the ref was shit. He should have stopped the Hull Blatant time wasting, before Arsene went crazy and had to point it out to the thick bastards.

Hull beat us at the Emirates when they played well at football, they played a nice game of football and they beat us. They played like cunts yesterday and they lost because they were being dicks. They only have themselves to blame.

Its playground stuff them going so mental about Cesc spitting on the FLOOR!!

Read this it shows you what a lying cunt Phil Brown is;

Given that with the fact he couldn't make his mind up if Fabregas spat in the tunnel or out on the pitch! when he was meant to have seen it with his own eyes?!!

Its despicable crap!

I think you got it all wrong, mate. It isn't illegal to hold the ball near the corner flag. Thats part of the game. What is illegal and Hull did was take fucking 5 minutes to take every FK and throw-in.

It pissed me off particularly when their keeper got a yellow for delaying a free kick and then gave up on it, calling a team mate to do it. You don't see Arsenal doing it. I mean, it was deliberate. Cheating bastards got what they deserved. I'm almost happy our winning goal was illegal now

That's a well written piece on that blog you posted Bobby.

Brown's making quite a fool of himself about this. The 5Live interview was so cringeworthy and embarrasing.

If they'd carried on playing football and Arsenal had've equalised, maybe there still would've been time for Hull to score again. They got beat by their own 'cheating'.

Yup and the league dont need teams with that sort of attitude. like i said again, hope they get sent back out of the premiership. fuck em

good draw for us against Villareal. Just hope we can take the chance and beat them. Who knows what Arsenal will turn up during the two legs?!

Then Maybe Man U if we progress!

And You get to play the 2nd leg at the Emirates! and Bobby its Man Utd.

I'm happy with the draw out of all the ties in that draw Man Utd and Arsenal have easy ties and an easy route to the final, on paper that is.

Sorry I forgot about that - I nearly always have called them that (Never knew the stuff behind it, just thought it was a shortened version of Manchester United). So it is going to take me a while to change. No offense intended :))

Arsenal and United definitely got the easiest draws. Of course all matches are pretty tough from now on, but I wouldn't want to be on the other side of the table.

Is Robert Pires still playing at a high level?
