Arsenal Thread

Good win today. Although it turned into a training session in the 2nd half and that concerns me... It could have been literally a massacre, but the players relaxed a bit too much after the second goal.
It's not gonna be this piece of cake on Tuesday, you know. I hope we get in strong and focused against Villareal.

Anyway, its great to see such a great comeback for Fab, Ade and Theo. Welcome back boys :)

Cesc is such a top top player, Arsenal was a lot more interesting with him playing then all the other games the guns did.
At this rate, Arsenals positions/results will be 2 short for his talent. Wenger better step it up, cous he will come to Barcelona.

Fabregas wouldn't be able to "buy himself out" before October. Until then it's pretty much up to Wenger.

Somebody can inform me a bit about the happenings in match?
I was in Olympic Stadium Berlin to watch Hertha-Dortmund :D

Oh, there you are Cesc :)

1st half:
Arsenal scored in the 8th minute with a Free Kick by Fab to an unmarked Adebayor.
After that, City came close to an equaliser a couple of times. In one occasion Gelson Fernandez hit the post. Our defense line positioning was horrible at this point.
Theo had some excelent runs, with Zabaleta trying to sideline him with an injury whenever he could.
Robinho did nothing.

2nd half:
Arsenal pretty much dominated. Throughout the entire 2nd half City lost the interest in the match. It was shocking really.
The 2nd goal came again from Adebayor with a great assist by Fab: a lob over Dunne that found Ade 1-on-1 with Given. He dribbled past the GK and slotted it home.
After that Arsenal wasn't incisive anymore. Wenger subbed the comeback Trio. Eboue came in and played very well. Arshavin wasn't inspired yesterday.
Robinho was harmless and got subbed too.

We won 2-0 but it could've been a hammering really. Our boys were merciful...

No prob mate. BTW, the first goal came from a free kick, not a corner. Now I've sorted it :)

What about starting eleven for tomorrow?
Arshavin, Diaby, Eduardo and Van Persie are out.
I'm so glad that Adebayor is back.

Maybe like that?

-----------------------Almunia------------------------
----Sagna-----Toure----------Gallas------Clichy-----
------------Denilson---------------Song--------------
------------------------Fabregas---------------------
----------Walcott----------------Vela/Eboue--------
-----------------------Adebayor---------------------

hopefully he goes with vela, that'd be a pretty entertaining attack. its too bad arshavin couldnt get in there.

Our lineups for today, hope we can score the first goal ;)

Almunia - Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy - Song, Denilson - Fabregas -
Walcott, Nasri - Adebayor

btw. Pires sits on the bench

Not bad a result, was it? Terrible 1st half - and unlucky too, with Almunia and Gallas injured - but in the 2nd Arsenal dominated. Let's hope for a comfortable win next week at the Emirates.

Oh, and how good was that goal by Ade? Him and Fab are one deadly duo :D

The first half was definitly not good, we allowed
Villarreal to much chances from long distance, so
Senna scored this beautiful long shot goal.
Gallas player awful, so it was no problem that Johan
came in.

Goal by Ade, brilliant, just brilliant...what a great overhead kick
2 Games and 3 goals by Ade, 3 assists by Cesc
so happy that both are back :)

I noticed again that we play terrible in small stadiums.

It was a good game the yellow submarines were fantastic in the 1st half but to play like that in 2nd was always going to be hard. Both goals were a peach shame we couldn`t finish them off. At home return leg I expect us to run rampant.

If he has medial ligament damage then yes, he could be. Usually at least 4 weeks for that kind of injury, and that will take us into May.

Djourou's time. I thought he did well last night.

I can't believe how cursed we are with injuries!

When was the last time we actually had our full starting 11?

Always when one player comes back, then another goes off injured!

We moved to the Grove and got too use to it

Good work Agent Rossi...taking down Gallas.

If we go through and play you lot in the CL semis - what are the odds of a Silvestre goal winning it? That'd amuse me...
