Arsenal Thread

I think we are only a couple of players away from being a force again.

But if we do not get 4th spot I can see a couple more players leaving and then it might be the point of no return!

I just hope we can shut Roma out - I think the away goal will kill us otherwise.

Lets hope Bendtner with his pink boots and Persie with his Chocolate leg can get scoring!

WHY DIDDNT BENTDER TAKE THAT FIRST TIME. stupid muppet, all he had to do is guide that low cross from nasri in the 6th minute.

pathetic

I got to watch the 2nd half. I thought Diaby was good very powerful player, but he doesn't seem like a very technical player to me. Good speed, good physique, but no over the top vision, passing skills, or technique.

I couldn't make too much of Denilson.

I had a chance to see Bendtner a couple of times last year. He was a laughing point for me and my father. We were surprised how such a player missing such obvious positions could make it to the Arsenal A team. I'm not joking. I saw him on many occasions, not just one or two, miss goals that make your jaw drop. This season I saw a couple of his goals, and I was beginning to think he had improved a lot. Today, again he was very dissappointing. In game he wasn't bad, but his wasted positions were laughable.

I liked Eboue. Nasri was really good in my opinion. RvP showed a lot of positive things as well.

Why was Ade not playing? He was injured as well??

It was very promising last night - hopefully our missed chances won't come back to haunt us!

Why the hell couldn't we play like that against Sunderland? or all the other times we played super shit and lost?!

Anyway - we know this team can play and with players due to come back - hopefully we can give a real push for 4th place.

Just hope it is not the continuing story of our season - that we play well and win, then the next games play crap again!

ps. Diaby out injured AGAIN

Are you serious?

Either Arsene Wenger has a very shitty training system which leaves players vulnerable to injury. Or coincidentally every player on the team is very injury prone. Or God is having a great time. :D

I thought things like this happened only in FM. I remember I would have my starting 11, then about 3-4 subs. Then the rest of the team would be injured.

I think he got tackle and was knock and he try to carry on but AW took him off. Song-the-square passer came on ...so nothing to do w/ training

Rumours are that Wenger might bid for Felipe Melo of Fiorentina. Hes a solid DMF aged 25 years. Seems to be good. Anyone knows how good he is??

That would be good news if true mate. Felipe is becoming a real force in Fiorentina's midfield. He's a good passer and would bring much more bite to the challenges in our midfield. He is becoming stronger physically as well.

Have you seen his debut with Brazil against Italy at the Emirates? He was immense and I really want him to be in our national squad for a long time.

what does his nationality has to do with it?!?!
yeah i agree he's got a very heavy touch, and shoots with his eyes closed, but nontheless...
we need to have faith in him at least for this season.

from what i've seen in vids, we played very well against Roma, imagine how things will look after the others recover!

i HATE BENDTNER...STUPID DANISH IDIOT....He sux....Hes only good in header but mostly screws up the guuners wins/.....Manchester match we could hv won wit a beta score if he jus pass da ball>>??:S
Mods can you please have a word with this racist fella

Joystick, that post looks really funny when I see your avatar with Baptista being really classy.

I just imagine Baptista sipping on tea saying that with a proper British accent.

Vela starts today upfront!

Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Arshavin, Denilson, Diaby, Nasri, Van Persie, Vela.

Subs: Fabianski, Ramsey, Song Billong, Djourou, Bendtner, Eboue, Gibbs.

Wow. Fulham pretty much layed back for the 45 minutes I watched. Naturally, they got their chances through counters. What do you do when the opposing team has 11 players in their own box? Is that considered good defending or displaying healthy soccer? But then can you blame Fulham for giving up the pace abd control of the game for hope of 1 point away against a team like Arsenal?

TBH, this is the first time I watched the Gooners this seasons(apart from the Roma game). But I can imagine this being the situation for the whole season. Most teams just don't display the courage to go out and play what I would call true soccer. I don't honestly see how anybody could blame Wenger in such a situation, especially when most of his firepower is out due to injuries.

For some individual player notes, Eboue was brilliant IMO. I especially liked that he was looking for deep passes from the ground instead of just shooting crosses into the box. Arshavin, Nasri, and Diaby also catched my attention but I feel like Nasri should be playing a greater role. Denilson didn't really have too much weight what so ever. Bendtner just seems one step away from being a quality player always. I don't know wtf is wrong with him, I think he just needs to play with a little more confidence, gain some more experience, and find his skills and strengths and weakness (basically figure out what type of player he is).

Yeah sacking Wenger will make sure Van Persie scores instead of hitting the post and Schwarzer making 3-4 100% saves along with Fulham having 11 people in the box. Apart from having half of the team injured.

sacking wenger is the answer

Yep thats the answer  Not getting Adebayor, Fabregas, Walcott, Rosicky back and buying a couple of quality players in the summer? thats definately not the answer!

Our defence is working now, just need to see what happens with a full team and our captain back. We are still deserving to win games - just not scoring. When we get to a point when we play consistantly shit and do not deserve to win - then we might have a problem.

But hopefully Wenger has learnt from last season and will buy a couple of decent players in the summer.

If Villa win tomorrow - which is probably likely. Then I don;t think we will qualify for the champions league. But you never know.

As Jonney keeps saying he should be sacked. I will keep saying it is not the right thing to do and he should stay!!! YEE HAA!!

I honsetly didn't see what Wenger did wrong today...I guess he should have played Cesc, Adebayor, Walcott, Eduardo, Rosicky, etc instead of the current players. I would like to see Man U without Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov, Scholes, Giggs, adn Carrick.
