Arsenal Thread

Happy with that! We'll beat Boro by a few goals IMO.

I am worried about who Wenger brings in this window though. We are still desperate for defenders and a holding mid, IMO.

Gabriel Paulista is done and dusted. Work permit apparently sorted. I don't know how, but they said it's official. So, yeah, we got a centre half ready for action!

I don't know much about the player, but I heard he's pacy and aggressive in closing down and tackling. Sounds very Koscielnish, which is great!

Yeah, lovely goal by Hector and the first one was the pick of the bunch for me. What a flick by Özil.
Fantastic display today. Bellerin and Coquelin have conquered their places I think.
It's early days for both, but they've been showing both hunger and maturity.

Since we didn't sign a DMF, Coquelin could end up being our much fabled holding midfielder, who would've thought. If that happens, we're covered with him, Flamini and Arteta and at the back Gabriel Paulista is now our CB cover. Let's not forget about Chambers too, who can fill in at both CB and RB.

Things are suddenly looking better. Today was so good that it was the first time Alexis didn't play in the league since he joined, and yet we didn't miss him. That's how good it was.

Still, it's only Villa, a team that seems on a certain path to relegation.
I'm a bit worried that Wenger repeats the formula against Chelsea or United at the Old Trafford, where Özil and Walcott won't provide the necessary defensive help on the flanks.

I hope Wenger has learned a 'plan B' using the blueprint of that win away at City. When we face Villa at home I'm all for combining Cazorla and Özil and worry less about defense. But when we face top opposition, that thing we did at the Etihad is the way to go if we wanna beat the big boys.

I really hope he doesn't play into the hands of Mourinho again, especially because we'll play at the Emirates and the team might feel a bit cocky.

Anyway, there's still a North London derby to worry about. I think we can keep going on our good run.

It was a good day, 5 goals , 5 scorers and Özil out of the lot gets MOTM . What a return from the long absence. Theo , Özil and Sturridge has all stunned me by the way they returned .

Our coq has a fairytale ending... Kid been loan out to every nook & cranny around Europe . He is a real DM !

Sturridge didn't return tho. What you saw was youngster Chuba Akpom getting a few Premier League minutes under his belt.

He could have scored a brace at least, the kid. Everyone seemed to be trying to set him up, even Mertesacker delivered an inch perfect cross with his left!

We could have done even more damage, there were 2 shots against the woodwork plus Akpom and Walcott missing easy chances.

Crazy huh?

I think he meant Welbeck anyway. Either that or bebo is taking a liking to Liverpool

I calls thems ,Like I sieze them :P

I enjoy Aguero before he joined ManCity it's hard to dislike a player , unless he joins Spurs :P Sturridge just stunned me and I used him not to show biases towards Özil n Theo ...

Man when we are good, we are one of the best.

Not getting too carried away but Wenger is proving me and many others wrong.

Bebo do you still want Wenger out at end of season?? I am having second thoughts

Look my bit has to do with challenging the league , not 4th pl trophy!!! Ok , Coq is a surprise revelation. We started the season w/ one leg short to be called a table. I think Wenger is a top 4th pl manager. Henry said it best a top club tries to win the league, not finished 4th place.

The argument is who are you going to get. I say life is about choices , and improvements start with changes...it's not my job to find a manager. We can sometimes change seats to get a different view even though we're in the same boat(no change).Wenger is a miracle worker at getting to 4th spot 'fact' . If , we can beat Chelsea n Mutd! it could prove Wenger has switched boats... I think Wenger's time is closing in .

Very good post agree 100%

The point is when Wenger implemented the few changes we've been banging on about for months, finally the team playing great.

Really, we've been saying the team needs a DMF and a better Goalie. And when Wenger puts a natural DMF, Coquelin, instead of Chambers or Arteta, and benches Schesny the team is now gelling great.

Good luck for the derby, Arsenal friends, l
Let's hope for an exciting match without controversy.

I would sdd that the best may win, but i'm a Spurs fan.

What a classless cheat that Walker is. Got Monreal booked for nothing. Ref's too card happy for anything Arsenal players do as well.

Just as I type this they scored an equaliser and we're now under pressure. I'll shut up and leave now!
