I wonder if Arsène has been reading jonney's posts?
I think you've done really well but still short in defence, once those defensive injury's pile up it could be awkward again.
apart from last years disaster (which we all saw coming) start Arsenal normally start the season strongly, I think you'll start well this year.
van wieler bebo? Might as well say Van Wilder!
You mean Gregory van der Wiel.
I don't think we're short in defence this time around, far from it, we have 2 different sets of back four with great quality (*except Jenkinson for Sagna):
Sagna - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Santos
Jenkinson* - Djourou - Mertesacker - Gibbs
As for the Van der Wiel rumours, I really don't think so! He is an international with Holland and plays week in week out with Ajax. If he comes, he will know he will be a reserve to Sagna all season long.
I guess you can field two back fours but the quality gap between the first and second absolutely huge and your first choice defense isn't amazing by any means.
It`s rumored that Cazorla cost £12m initially and could go up
Alex Song is being looked at by Barca, last month it was Kosc and the month prior was vermaelen. Wenger must be doing something right that a club such as Barca want our players. I wonder if what we lack to hold our players is wages?
I`m very excited by what we have ,comparing to last start of the season we spent £35m atm .I feel due to other clubs misfortune and financial crisis we are able to spend wisely. You won`t see clubs rising the price tag ,because Arsenal is looking we don`t have that clout
Wenger invest in attacking, his philosophy is attacking is the best defending ! I expect Gervinho to have a major impact ,this season. Cazorla won`t score many goals ,but will feed balls for everyone. I see Arsenal going back to that lovely passing again.
I can see what you mean bobby. it would be stupid to allow RVP to go to Man Utd, but on the other hand i'm pretty sure that he will never have a season like the last one.
IMO a player like Adebayor is as good as RVP when he has a 'normal' season. If he has a season like last one, there aren't many better forwards.
What i don't understand is that there are no rumours about what is IMO the best goal scorer in the world: Falcao. This is the player clubs like Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea should try to buy. He is the only forward who is better than last season's Van Persie. And he does it all the time. Ir RVP leaves Arsenal, Wenger should try to buy Falcao.
I don't think RVP is a one season wonder. His Goal Ratio has always been right up there with the worlds best (Messi and Ronaldo apart), it's just that he's been injury prone.
If he stays fit again I can see him grabbing 20-30 goals
Next year RVP will be a 'failure' by the standard set this year regardless of the club he plays at, I'd be thankful for 10 goals out of him tbh.
