Arsenal Thread

Doesn't sound very promising. A repeat of 3rd/4th is in the cards again maybe?

When are you talking about?

What doesn't sound promising? we have a few players that in a years time might be able to step into Fabregas role. But if they can't then Wenger will have plenty of money to buy somebody to replace him.

It is never good to lose your best player and captain, but we will have funds to deal with his departure. The dynamic of our team will change but it could be for the better?

nobody knows, so when Fab finally leaves and the managers reaction to that, will give us a good indication of what will happen to us.

Alot can happen in a year, players that were on the fringes last season can suddenly step up and play very well. It happened with Song and Flamini in recent times. So to predict what will happen next season is too premature.

You've always had funds. Let me elaborate further.. Wenger's going to stick on the I-want-a-young-cheap quality player. Which stems from refusing to make marquee quality signings and instead gamble on weedy little flower players that will cost you 5-10million.

His naive philosophies are the real problem. He has successfully tricked and cheated even the most hardcore faithful fans like yourself through his neo-psychology into believing he has no money to spend. When in truth he is running a vanity project to prove to the world, he can win silverware with his young players without spending big. That will ultimately be his downfall, whether you realise or not.

It's always 4 years when miraculously those kids will turn into world beaters

Mark my words, fabregas will do a henry while at barcelona and talk nothing but praises etc for arsenal more then barcelona.

I wonder, did you used to be called something else on these forums?

If I said Fabregas was a nice guy, what would you say to that?

would you post a picture of Fabregas throwing porridge out of his high chair when he was a baby to prove that he isn't a nice guy?

You have gone from just asking nice inquisitive questions, to being very attacking and condemning in a short space of time....very strange.

Hehe, I was waiting for the penny to drop, Bob.

Truly this my first stay here. It's an interesting discussion group, I see here. As I'm intrigued to find out from various fans how their club will fair with certain changes.

As for Fabregas, I have no recollection of any personal acquaintances with the chap to base any judgement on whether he is a nice guy or not.

As for you're last paragraph instigating that you believe I've delivered an attack or condemnation, I would have to disagree. Simply because one question can lead to many more discoveries and revelations. There is no reason why I should refrain from elaborating on certain things which have been requested from your good self.

If there are any issues you feel uncomfortable with due to sensitivity, then by all means, please go ahead and say....

Eduardos gone, I know gunners got sympathy for him cos he broke his foot when he had a decent spell..but did u guys really rate him.

Excuses asside I dont really think he was as good as he was made out to be!? thats just what I think anyway

We were always looking for a player with a great finish after Henry and would give us consistent goals.

Before his injury he was having a good season and showed alot of promise to fulfil our expectations.

I think we all just feel deflated and dissapointed because he hasn't shown what he showed just before he got injured. He seemed very sharp and dangerous before the injury and now he just doesn't seem the same.

I don't think he was overated, i just think we had alot of promise that he was going to be great for us, but it wasn't to be.

It's a good deal. What would concern me if I was an arsenal fan, is that they are beginning to become a selling club.

The club trains young players. Then when the young player is trained and become established they leave the club of their own accord or are sold by the club. Then the club trains new young players again, they then becomes established superstars and is then sold.

The cycle repeats itself and becomes like a never ending story. Or like a nursery rhythm of row row the boat gently down the stream, merrily merrily merrily the league is but a dream.

I have sleepless nights because of it.

Well I'd expect the majority to be use to it by now. 6 years is enough time considerably to put out of your mind the taste of success domestically.

Yep I'm used to it. I like it though, I hope we don't win anything in the future. It just makes me excited and makes my heart race, I probably lose a couple of days life, just by us winning things.

you got it wrong! In any club no one can predict when a player reaches it`s peek. Tell me Ole wise one how many players left Arsenal and became better . Not many I`m afraid.... academy is design to educate and produce. We seem to produce players that has not reach a level of elite is that our fault no it`s what I said earlier players reaching their peek which in our league not good enough. Jack is a perfect example as a good promising but not proven as of yet.

A selling Club I think there is a time when every player has a price tag. Good business is good business Fabregas might be very known more for his transfer tag then his contribution to success for the club. We bought him for peanuts and selling him back to his old club for a record fee. Until we win trophies we`ll always be looked at how unsuccessful we were on the pitch compare to how well we ran the club.

I just wonder, how Mr Wenger will be able to contain those who are becoming growingly more frustrated underneath their demeanour and veil of justifications and sentimentalities.

When the pressure suddenly calls for such a big club to deliver, surely one man at the helm won't survive a few more barren years to come. With the potential of reaching the big 10 with nothing to show?

Regardless how well the players who Arsenal let go performed at another club. The reality is they were your best players. Diarra doesn't look too out of place in a real Madrid shirt.

Adeboyor didn't look too out of place when he was running from one end of the pitch to the next to celebrate in front of the arsenals fans for his Man city victory.

Ashley cole didn't look too out of place when he was lifting the premiership trophy for chelsea last season.

I can go on however I'm sure you get the picture. You have sold you're best players and replaced them with infants.

Your manager seems on intent of standing by his dream of winning a league title with a team whose average age is 22 or 23. In the past Wenger had a title winning formula . However everything that was a hallmark of Wenger's successful teams in the past he suddenly decided to strip your squad of; To prove he could do it another way, his way!

Lets be frank here, it's all about him, he and only it was he himself who changed the winning blueprint he had with regards to personnel. In the past he developed championship teams with an abundance of experience even in the second string many times when he first took over. However now he has replace those veterans with kids all over. He used to bring in former world cup and euro winners, and players who won trophies in other leagues, and even in England Players who played at big clubs before and thus know what pressure is and what it takes to win taste success and trophies.

Back in 1996-1998 he had his championship winning teams with vocal leaders and strong personalities, the likes of Parlour, Adams, keown, Vieira, Seaman and Winterburn were real grafters and battlers who would never take a beating lying down. His championship winning teams had English players as some key contributors who knew what it takes to play in a winters game, and now none. He’s now replace them with a bunch of "nice boys" who he can control and are in awe of him.. Who have the courtesy to tag along with title winning friends at Chelsea to help them celebrate a glorious end of season party. To get a taste of what success feels like. They themselves can only dream of it, whilst under Wenger’s helm.

That answer has just convinced me that you are the guy I thought you were :PP

Who is this guy you're obsessed about that you believe is associated with me? Did he stir you up the wrong way> Please clarify, or is this some in-house joke on new members?

Nothing, you just post exactly the same as a guy that got banned a few days ago. It's just a bit weird that you have joined just now and you are very very similar to him.

I will pretend you are not him, if that makes you feel better.

I just hope you don't act like you did with your previous username.

But judging by your last post in response to Beboq, I am not holding much hope.

Sounds like an intelligent gentleman if he has as you say an uncanny post style comparable to my own.

You say this person was banned. What did he do wrong so I can avoid a similar fate if as you say we are so alike? Are there sensitive issues that are not to be discussed? Every time I mention the name Wenger it seems to cause quite a stir, I must say.

And lastly what was this person's title?

Just try and have a debate without thinking you know it all. Then you shouldn't go wrong ;))

Clearly you don`t know the situation on that one... he left because Flamini was the best at the moment guess what he left Chels for the same thing, guess who`s running RM now!
Adeboyor didn't look too out of place when he was running from one end of the pitch to the next to celebrate in front of the arsenals fans for his Man city victory.
another one who seem to be off the mark . At Arsenal he scored more than at City even they don`t fancy him. He was a problem an infection in the dressing room, head butting Bendtner no regrets
Ashley cole didn't look too out of place when he was lifting the premiership trophy for chelsea last season.
Cashely took 3 seasons to lift the prize...you won`t agree , clichy and english gibbs is the perfect replacement.
I can go on however I'm sure you get the picture. You have sold you're best players and replaced them with infants.
Please continue this time bring players name that won a few titles not the experiences foreigners so call best players. Reyes you know why he left...Henry made him feel like an unwanted player he made too many wrong decision . Hleb the reason for Henry`s hand on hip stare ,but then Hleb n reyes regretted their moves and did it publicly.

He has his faults no doubt and has a part on our success with our failures.

It`s a different time to then where our highest transfer is 17mil where most club spend that on their 2nd keeper. I admit Wenger hasn`t change with the rest and like I said before .Until we win trophies we`ll always be looked at how unsuccessful we were on the pitch compare to how well we ran the club. Biggest Club in England Pool n mutd ran by yanks and look how many r unhappy despite their past success.Arsenal r ran by English despite their failures the fans r CONTENT. I want to win as much as Everton or WHU want to win . I don`t want to win by throwing money at it where in a few years be put into administration or worst can`t compete in Europe due to debt ratio.
