Arsenal Thread

And gave him Henry's shirt.

What's that supposed to mean? Theo picked it cause it was available?! What are you trying to get at? Am I missing something?

Aside from that I happen to think Henry was and still is one of the greatest strikers to ever have played the game but where was he when he was 19 like Theo Walcott is now? Theos had a tremendous weight on his shoulders to perform from a very young age and I think he's doing fine.

Lets try and support him and not build him up too much, he is still young and he is not going to play like that every week...

We all knew he had potential but we are now seeing more and more of it. I did wonder if he could finish but after last night I now have no doubts..:)

If Denilson doesn't have a game like the one against Fulham (81% of passes to the opposition), but plays like he did in Preseason, then i think it'll have the chance to bear fruit.

Denilson v Fulham was the worst performance by an Arsenal player i've seen in 25 yrs. Even Remi Garde was better!

I still think the following is our strongest formation..

-------------------------Droopy

Sagna------ Silvestre--------Gallas-----------Clichy

Walcott-----Fabulous-----Song/Rosicky------------Nasri

----------------------Van P

------------------------------Ade

I will not pick Toure. He seems to be in the squad by name now. Not the same player since he got injured in the ANC.

Denilson has had two good games since the Fulham one. I think he will come good once he settles into the season. But it seems like Diaby will be back this week and he will probably be prefered.

Also I would rather have Toure until I see what Silvestre is like :DD

a bit harsh ice-man.. on Toure he looked great vs. newc .I hope your family in Dallas r safe (ike)

:) Gracias amigo. Mi familia está a salvo - vive en Dallas, no en la costa. Espero que su familia esté a salvo en Miami del huracán también.

We'll see with Toure - he's been strong - sometimes the best player at the back. I guess with Silvestre now there, he'll perfrom better. Not like Sederos/Djourou was competion. :D

how do you Djourou would play as a DMF? since he has practicly no chance to against the others CB's...
he or Diaby are what's needed, a strong dominating dmf, but Diaby is sloppy with slidings and doesn't defend that well either IMO.

what would be AW first choise?

I don't think we will ever play Rosicky and Fabregas together in the centre. But apart from that I agree with what you say.

And to think we have Eddie to come back too, he could be vital to us in the 2nd half of the season cos he was beginning to look like some player!

Agree about the Rosicky thing in the middle.

Also If Eduardo comes back the same player - then we will have a great front line. But there is a lot of Ifs when players come back from such a bad injury.

Fingers crossed!!

Just that he is having a trial and he would be a free.......oh and he is 33

But on a 1 year deal it will be fine....he has the quality and he's not going to play every game.

We need to get Walcott on a new contract, rumours Man City are sniffing around him... Seriously though it runs out at the end of next season!

Yep we need to do that sharpish!! - but I have no worries or doubts that he will sign. He seems sensible enough :DD

Lets face it contracts mean dick, apart from money to the club losing the player... What you need is to win things to keep your top players...

The contract just means that we get the maximum amount of money for the player if they leave within the contract. Thats all they mean these days. So we definately need to get him signed up again - because he must be worth quite a bit now :DD

Nice half, Arsenal are still a bit messed around the defense and are not applying pressure in the player with the ball, that is a problem or can turn into one. Overall the Guns are delivering the cards and are winning with a nice advantage, hope they can score more in the second and sustain the advantage.
