Arsenal Thread

Looks like Adebayor has a lot of explaining to do after head-butting Nic Bendtner in a heated game with Spurs...

As usual,Arsene 'Blind' Wenger, replied that he did not see the incident when being asked about it.

However, club captain William Gallas witnessed the clash at close quarters and admitted that the behaviour of the duo was unacceptable.

"They know they have made a mistake and they will have to explain why they did that," the Frenchman said in The Sun.

Signs of cracks appearing at the Emirates?

 Keep hoping mate, keep hoping.

nonetheless AW has to review the future of Arsenal some eggs were pulled out abit early. But let recover and take care of business FA Cup

I hope manutd rip the spurs bubble...1st vs 1st team bunch of vjs

More than the lose(not worried cause it our B team against their A team on steroids...kidding about the steroids part),i am worried about the tussle between Bendtner and Adebayor.Worried about morale of the team with such tight schedule ahead.

Hope Wenger clams things down and returns the lads to play football the Arsenal way.

Peter Eyres i smell something burning maybe the fact that Liverpool were knocked off their 4th position in the league had something to do with, especially when you think about all the pre season hype after signing Torres....No one gave us a chance at the title after 22 games we are still in it.

Way to go Arsenal!!

Bendtner has already apologised to Adebayor mate, was on the news earlier. I wouldn't worry about yesterday if I was a Gooner either, you lot will push us all the way until the last day of the season I reckon.

I hope the title race is fought just between Arsenal and ManU.I Don't mind even if Manu wins the title but i would hate to see the day when chelski(just 3 points behind)become champions.

No mate I just enjoyed seeing a team with such obvious potential, who have underacheived, smash their city rivals in a semi final, with the backing of a jubilant crowd.

I think every neutral in country did too.

I don't remember hyping Liverpool up. We needed to go an buy another 3 players of Torres' caliber to stand a chance.

Thats funny I thought you were going to go into their history aswell! :)

'I just enjoyed seeing a team who were formed in 1882 and who were the first team to do the double in the 20th century who also have an Emblem of a cockerel and have such obvious potential, who have underacheived, smash their city rivals in a semi final, with the backing of a jubilant crowd'

Wouldn't any team have a Jubilant crowd if they won?!

It was a semi final of a shit cup that you didn't even get to the semi final of.

What difference does it make if they underachieved? Underachieved = Shit

When we have our full team against their full team we will see who will have the jubilant crowd - us thats who :)

seems to me the only time you have a jubilant crowd, is when you tie united at home.... spurs crowd was immense, dont try and downplay the game or the crowd, when you guys were at home it was nothing like the spurs crowd, they were quiet as usual... united is similair as well sometimes

Unbelievable:shock::(

The less said the better about a club which tries to buy its way into history.

I think Liverpool don't need 3 more players of Torres's caliber,What they need is another manager who does not take players off the feild for scoring and just for the sake of taking players off.It is so frustrating to see Torres and Gerrard not taking to the feild or being subbed inspite of being fit and in Form.

Believe me mate - If we beat Spurs 5-1 we would make alot of noise.

Our reputation is still a hangover from Highbury - I have been to about 5 games at the Emirates and the atmosphere has been brilliant. Arsene Wenger has never berated his own fans for being quiet like Ferguson has.

Its great to have a noisy crowd - but it doesn't meen you have worst supporters either if they are not noisy.

At Emirates you are told to keep sitting in your seats which is ridiculous - nearly everytime you stand up a steward comes over and tells you to sit down! Its very hard to belt out a song sitting down.

Also I went to the West ham game last season (where we lost :( ) and there were loads of West Ham supporters in the Arsenal ends shouting and screaming and celebrating aswell. They should have been booted out - cunts!!

These are things that ruin the atmosphere at Arsenal.

Our game against united had a lot more at stake aswell - so don't try and downplay that draw either. Again we came back from defeat against the league champions and with us drawing we stayed top of the league. So rightly so we were happy and celebrated. It was a much more important result than losing against spurs in the Carling Cup!

I wasn't downplaying the game either - I said exactly what it was. It is the second cup where we blood our young fringe players. Its what most of the top four do. Its really a nothing cup - but it would mean everything to Spurs if they Won it. The main reason I wanted to beat Spurs in it - is because they are spurs and because our youngsters deserved to win it last year and I wanted them to have another crack at it.

Your points would be much more acceptable if you didn't put little digs in about us :)

As a season ticket holder, I feel I am well placed to comment on this atmosphere issue.

The Highbury Library - a myth borne out of the fact that Arsenal's football wasn't boring anymore so what else could be?? The atmosphere thats what! And the fact that Highbury rhymed with Library. The atmosphere at Highbury declined as soon as all-seater stadiums came in, I know this cos I was there but this has been a genuine problem in football not just at Arsenal. Before all the singers stood together and made the atmosphere, with all-seater they are jotted about. This issue is the same at ALL clubs with all-seater stadiums. I have mates who live in Yeovil and sometimes go down and watch Yeovil Town play, I stand on the terraces and believe me they make one hell of a noise!! They certainly put places like Fulham to shame who have many more fans.

There are games though whereby an all-seater stadium can make at great atmospshere. At Arsenal I see it when we play Spurs, Man Utd, Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool or a big Champions League game. When we play against teams that we are expected to beat Wigan, Derby the atmosphere is not as good, its almost as if we are waiting for the team to lift us. Against the big sides we are with the team from the start. The same can be said of Chelsea, Man United, its not just Arsenal's problem.

The atmosphere at the Emirates is comparable to Highbury, the best atmosphere I ever encountered at Highbury when it was all-seater was when we played Real Madrid a couple of years back, it was like nothing I have ever heard before, and this was for a 0-0 draw!! The Clock End was jumping that night.

WHL was buzzing on Tuesday because they finally put on a performance against their bitter rivals and beat them, thrashed them even for the first time in 8 years in a competition they now have a realistic chance of winning. Don't believe for one minute its like that every week!

My ten pence worth....

Bitter? No mate, we are the champions and:

1. Manchester United
2. Arsenal
3. Chelsea

I just HATE watching Chelsea. With all that money and potential yet you still play a really dull style of football. Didn't Roman sack Jose to bring in frog-features for a better style? I haven't seen it.

I think so many other factors come into play, when you talk about Noise being the major component in setting up an atmosphere..Emirates is a big stadium and majority of the structure is open and the spectators a little distant from the turf, unlike Highbury which on occasions was like a cauldron to the visiting team.

Hey read this about wenger pondering possible loan for Theo.

Yeah of course you noticed only the game you wanted to.we played some good football against City,Tottenham, shalke 04 at home But of course these games i suppose you didn't watch them..
And oh you know it takes time to change the style of a team
i don't think for example when Wenger came in England he changed the style of Arsenal in 6 months

As soon as Wenger arrived he SCRAPPED the long ball system and got the Arsenal playing neat one-touch passing football. It's something you do on the training ground.

ok so can an Arsenal Fan comfirm that please?when Arsene Came 4 months after you played the same one-touch passing football as now??
And it's not just a matter of doing it on training, you MUST have the players to do it,just try to do it with Derby i don't think the result will be the same
