Apparently we've bought Diaby from Auxerre. A 20 year old, a young one again. We need a ready made one. Oh well is better than nothing. Hopefully this is just the start of a spending spree, I doubt it though.
 
i would not be too surprised if we beat real. they have been pretty poor this season, and for the last couple as well. i do believe it is possible that we could win the champions league, although very unlikely. i dont see how being four ties away from winning it is irrational though, we can all dream...

and arsenal looked damn good against portsmouth, and we'll have ashley back by then...who, by the way, has said he ain't going anywhere.
 
Its a lot, but I doubt its the money thats being quoted. How can we go from being broke to spending that sort of dosh on a 16 year old.

Its good forward planning cos he is a talent, but we need established players at the moment, we have too much youth in our squad (especially in midfield) at the moment. Even this Diaby we have signed is only 19!!
 
Wenger is definstely rebuilding and as long as we can push for the 4th place I'll be happy.

As for Walcott I'm chuffed to bits that we're looking at good English players and I very much doubt he'll be £15 mill. It'll either include some of the squads deadwood or will be around £5million with appearance, goals and trophy clauses to bump it up a bit.

Walcott and Diaby are already a legend's for both snubbing Chelsea ;)
 
Im glad both players have gone arsenal instead of chelsea. Arsenals track record for bringing up and taking care of their youngsters is much better. Im sure that was important factor of both their decisions. Smart lads.

Yeah I totally agree, it's a shame Shaun Wright-Phillips didn't realise that!
 
Yes the official saints site syas the same. There are a lot of conflicting reports going around at the moment, I for one won't believe it fully until its reported on Arsenal.com.

However, there is no smoke without fire and there does seem an awful amount of smoke in this one. Its exactly the sort of signing Wenger likes to make.
 
I want a big hairy hard arsed player, to go in the centre of midfield! I want him to bring fear to the opposition! I want him to eat their balls and shit out Steele!

I don't want a 19yr old that if you add water, he might be ready in 3yrs time!

We need players that are gonna do it for us for the last half of this season. If we don't, then I can't even see us getting 4th place and that would be a disaster!

I trust Wenger, he is fantastic in every way - but I don't feel it is right to accept we have to sacrifice this season just to bring up future stars. We need the right balance, so we can introduce these players and also still challenge for the Title.

I am just Very annoyed that Tottenham are above us, as most of my friends are Spurs supporters and it is really getting on my wick!!

Ask them the last time they finished above us, as this is why they are getting excited. Also say to them thats its only January. Ask them who they have got in the next round of the cup and also ask them when was the last time they beat us. That should keep them quiet for a bit. :mrgreen:
 
Done all of the above, but It still gets me down! I think I get wound up to easily.

I'm sure we will finish above them in the league. (Fingers Crossed!)
 
He(Adebayor) looks identical to kanu, maybe he is his brother or something lol. Hopefully for you guys case not as lazy.
 
well the fact that we are buying players at all is pleasing, and i'm sure if arsene thinks they are good enough they most likely are. i really like to sign theo, i can't remember the last time we made a high profile english buy (sol doesn't count ;) ...and nor does jeffers).
 
I liked the knowing smirk of Wenger's during his press conference that concerned Theo. Something is definitely in the works and it looks that if the lad is going to move, it will be to Arsenal which is great news.

The Adebayor signing is interesting. If Wenger is content to go along with playing the 4-5-1 on occasion (I'm hoping it does not become a staple but I can see it can be useful in some circumstances) then Adebayor would be our best leading man for it. He seems a good alternative, but I'm hoping Wenger has another signing up his sleeve for the midfield.
