I have to agree with Vannizzlefashizzal, the Gooners are a joke in Europe and all of England think this apart from the North-Londoners. They just show lack of experience, and do not know how to take their chances in the Champions League. Chelsea have proved they mean business in Europe this season, hats off to them, but Arsenal, without Henry, would be a disaster. As for winning your next 2 games, not a chance, I would put my house on it.

Yeah cause Chelsea have beat those world class teams, Lazio aren't brilliant anymore they are a team of hasbeens, when was the last time they did well against a good European team, if i'm right you got turned over by Besiktas at home and a lucky win away to Sparta. Doesn't seem to me as if you'll be going much further than the next stage!!!!

Man Utd I have to admit can perform in Europe but even they aren't good enough to win it.

We have to face facts for the mo, no English team will win the champs league now or for a while because are game is too physical and refs pull us up all the time

Sorry to post again, it won`t let me edit my last one. But . . .

Yeah thats right Zico mate, like when we drew Deportivo and Juventus last season, they were really shite teams! Duh! (We beat them too) :eh:

I think what Zico means is that during the first group stage you always seem to get an easy draw. Weren't Depor and Juve in your second group stage group last year?

Same with this year, I think you are much happier with your group and I don't think you would be so cocky if you were in our group.

Is everyone ignoring my post at the top of the page then?
I'll say it again. It doesnt matter who you get in the first stage. If you cant beat the hard teams early on then you wouldnt beat them in the quarter finals/semis either. If anything, you're at an advantage playing quality teams early on. I mean, its pointless beating shit teams for half of the season (affecting your premiership hopes too) and get all these false hopes of winning when you're gonna get knocked out later on by a good side. Know what I mean?

Yep, good point mate. I guess we Gooners are frustrated with our European failures year after year. However, I do feel we will be in the last 16 come next spring. Just a feeling I have got

Wrong. Deportivo were in our first group, Juventus in our 2nd. Stop making excuses guys, the Champions League is the Champions League, simple. Doesn`t matter who you draw! Look at all the Rangers V United hype, we killed them. But fans, pundits etc predicted the "Battle of Britain".
Just admit the fact that Arsenal cannot cut it in Europe, they are 2nd rate. Domestically you are one of the best.

Did you not read my last post?

In addition I respect what United can do in Europe. Chelsea are slightly different as we have p*ssed the group stages before (like they are doing)and then surrendered like children in the next round.

But I will argue till I`m blue in the face that you won`t beat Inter away.
I REALLY cannot see it. But lets wait and see.

Ok mate, these threads have brightened up my afternoon. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I am going to the Inter match so maybe my optimism is hope rather than expectation!!

Yes, I went to the Italy V Wales game not so long ago, it was an electric atmosphere. Wales lost 4-0, but I didn`t care (my mates did they are all Welsh!) it was fantastic to see the Italians in full-stride.

at least we can make peace ;) i just wish the CL could be more of an english affair as well, not another all italian final or 3/4 of the teams italian in the semis  soo if the gunners pull through, things will be better in the EPL too!

Are you going??

I've been mate and its amazing, the way they support the team is  the Ultra's have their own tier and again its

I've been twice, once with United and once to watch Inter, like I said mate the show that the fans put on puts anything you've seen in England or Scotland to shame IMO.

Ive not seen Seria A for a while so im not fully up on hown Inter are doing.

Of course Arsenal have a chance but its cos they've been so poor that its hard to see them pulling it off, but if Henry is on top form they could do what they did to Roma.

Yep, I will be there. Can't wait for the game. Going over on the Tuesday and staying at a mates house (he's an Inter fan!!!) for the night in Milan. Gonna have a few beers and check the women out. ;)

Yup and you'll enjoy it even more, when we give them one serious beating.

haha, well, i think we all know that it is going to take something special to beat an italian side, chelski have shown that already, but you gunners must provide some special football, im hinting at YOU VAVA VOOM!

If Henry is on form, Inter have problems. If they shut him out, then you have problems - its gonna be one of them REALLY unpredictable games.

yea, thats true, i think it's a matter of whose striker gets wiped out, and whose defense manages to stand up after 90 mins... i think that the gunners only have one main threat, with freddie only managing to get a gol this season off a deflection, inter have martins and veiri, and thats enough, not to mention lads like van der meyde, and a solid defense (yes mainly a french back vs italian back match) but i really want a gunenrs victory, perhaps a sweet 3-0 win on away soil?

-azn

hmm, i think another surprising last minute strike from ... ooooh veira? 3-2 gunners, no wait, let them beat inter all together, 4-3 on away gols> that works right?

-azn

Were gonna win this match 3-1. Goals by Henry, Pires and Martin Keown.

havent been watchin serie a have ya?zach doesnt fancy martins,v.d.meyde,luciano or most of the inter team which played at highbury.its pretty much...

......................toldo......................
cordoba......materrazi....cannavarro
zanetti....almeyda....zanetti.....coco
....................emre........................
.........recoba............vieri...............

even as recoba is injured now,he'll most probably start with cruz rather than martins.looks a more stable team now and i'm goin for a score draw...

I know Cordoba is a solid defender but he REALLY has problems w/ long balls(see Inter-Roma game). If Materrazi is assigned Henry w/ Canna covering Materrazi's ass then Inter is going to have problems, cause even though Henry is the main threat...he's not the only threat. I say Pires draws first blood...50', then Henry nets two more 74', 83'. Veiri w/ a solo effort...1 goal stoppage time.

3-1 in favor of the visitors.

I hope Recoba does play, because that means they'll only have 10 men.

to answer misfit: no, i havent watched much seire a, dont get the chance to... and 90 minutes of flawless defending is hard to find, utd - lpool, it didnt happen, it had to be reinforced with a shotty offciating decision right? (that was a good example) , i ll make sure to stay out of the serie a thread though ;)

The San Siro still ain`t an easy place to go and "cruise" 3 points. Don`t get carried away with yourselves just yet.

Well I honestly believe were gonna hammer them, and if im wrong you can all give me pelters. ;)

On a sidenote- Lehmann looked such a good keeper while playing in germany, However he has looked shakier than ozzy ozbourne while playing for the Arse.
