quality. i like the movement. doesnt move as if your on flying off the ground ie no jerkiness or anything in most FPS games

btw placebo i guess this is the all german release, do you know if it will be possible to patch it to english later on? especially the voices...;)
 
Wow that video looks great. The scenery and the way the view bobs around just looks so realistic.

Errr the voices are all in English? There's no German audio localisation, just the UI texts and such.
 
see, didn't know that ;) very good than. no time to install it yet :) + allready found an all english menu patch...

40€ invested in the future of modern warfare...can't wait for all the mods etc.
 
Yup until at least tomorrow, German launch traffic was too much for the server which hosts both the website and the forums, so we took the forums down to ensure the websites stay up, tomorrow we'll look into splitting the hosting so one isn't affected by the other.

The websites and forums had all been running from the same server, in the past it never really caused any problems, this week for some reason the traffic of the German release exceeded anything we'd seen before and the forum activity alone ran the risk of bringing down the websites, obviously with the patch being out we felt the primary importance was that the customers could come to ArmA2.com and find the patch and download it so we decided to take the forums down and leave the websites up.

Today we've arranged for the forums to be on a dedicated quad core server and they're in the process of being moved over, hopefully they will be back sometime within the next 12-48 hours.
 
amazing game. love the animations, atmosphere, shooting, everything! playing mostly in 3rd person though, prefer that.

very lovely attention to detail, just a bit dissapointed with performance so far...

placebo, any specific recommendation on a new graphics card for this? currently on a single 8800gt, but was thinking about a gtx or something. want to enjoy this in full resolution if possible.
 
Well I have an ATI 4870 with 512mb, haven't tried any build since about 6 weeks ago but it ran uber well on that, I'm loathe to say try this card or that card as I don't want to steer you wrong, I primarily went with ATI because of Nvidia butchering TV Out on the Geforce cards.

When the forums are back up I'll point you to the system specs thread on our forums, otherwise you might be best off looking at some of the other ArmA forums :)
 
will do that. thanks mate. it's running okay on high @ 1280x, but this simply deserves more :) willing to spend 200€ or whatever just to play this says everything about how high i rate it :D
 
What's the rest of your spec? And what settings are you running it on? Presumably you're using 1.01beta now right? :)

Really pleased to hear you're liking it, first reviews have an average of 75% now, which isn't too bad considering we knew the German press would be tough because of the ArmA1 release (and also the fact ArmA2 needed about 2-3 more weeks development than the DE release date allowed). User feedback has been very positive which makes it a great shame our forums went down as word of mouth was helping us shift a lot of German units ;)
