Any excuse to post this:
I think (it's not a secret, really) it's will be like "Uncharted 4 Style Driven Game", but if some balance of most important things will be here, on project - we can get a good game, that give us nice emotions for few hours of our life. This will be an awesome game. Intro Sequence is 100% James Bond, presentation is authentic to action films, and the gameplay from the footage alone is great combining Hitman style interactions, stealth and shooting mechanics with cutscenes from James Bond movies. Great job from IOI, another quality AAA game!
Can you turn off ALL hints and handholding and up AI and shooting etc difficulty?Just finished Mission 7 on the game Knightfall.
The game isn't really what I was expecting.
I thought during missions there would be more ways to complete, either a stealth way or brute force way.
And the game would be more thought provoking and difficult, having to solve problems and use your head - But this seems to be a problem with all modern games, with everything laid out in a yellow or blue path.
Some of the gadget usage can be pretty cool although on the standard difficulty the gadgets are not really needed, except for when the game dictates they have to be used to progress.
The main gripe with the game is the weird mechanics and how bad the AI is in gunfights.
You can be in a room with 10-20 guys all trying to shoot you but you can run around and just charge strike them and just knock all of them out without using your gun and they never shoot you - The game is as if bullets don't cause you hardly any damage.
The gunfights are also incredibly easy on PC - Everything is a head shot even if you are close to the head and not on the head, guess this is due to console having a bigger hitbox and the developers not changing it on PC, which ruins the gun fights pretty much.
I will finish the game as want to finish the story but it is very much a case of forcing myself to do it rather than enjoying.
The game is absolutely bang average or just below average - I just can't recommend this game.
The missions are all very linear and there is so much lazy design, I need to get through this door but can't so need to find another way and to do that OH look there is a blue pipe completely out of place, I bet I can climb that and then another security guard to easily get past 5 minutes later I am through the door.
Not finished it yet but this is def a 2/5 game.
You can change the game difficulty but not sure if you change the yellow markers and blue pipes to being normal. Can you turn off ALL hints and handholding and up AI and shooting etc difficulty?
The reasons why I dislike First Light and it isn't just this but a big part - You never need to use a gun in the game just charge and punch.
The Yellow and Blue icons parts of scenery to show you the way.
But it is the really little bits which annoy me the absolute most - You get to a part of the game and it makes you go get a key or some ID badges which are incredibly simple to get but take like 10 - 15 minutes. It is a massive chore to do not fun.
The story is pretty good and feels like a James Bond story and the cutscenes are well done.
But my god the actual gameplay is awful.
Dang mate... I find it surprising that this game isn't even remotely divisive (in what regards to review scores). To me everything about the game felt unsatisfying. From the combat (totally unbalanced), to the story (uninteresting... seriously, the way the antagonist returns back from the dead is just laughable, sounds like total A.I. Slop to me), to the characters (no attachment to any of them, starting with your fellow MI6 agents that go down - namely Monroe and Cressida - then Greenway... and also couldn't care less if Moneypenny died from the knife wound or not!), all the way to the ending (shitty last boss, plus just a couple of shitty cinematics). Overall, I had an AWFUL experience all throughout the game...Just rolled credits after an absolute rollercoaster of an endgame, the twists and turns in the story are inventive and often unexpected. Abosulute full marks there.
For me though, the gameplay was frustrating and overwhelming at times, especially mid game, during shooting sections where enemies flood the zone and you are supposed to use gadgets and the environment when being shot from sometimes all sides, and Bond goes down fast as well.
It didn't have that problem because the game is just simply unbalanced mate...The endgame did not have this problem however, and I either had finally managed to multitask accordingly, or the game was simply more balanced.
Yeah definitely all the positive reviews are paid for, games between 84 and 87 on all platforms on metacritic, a lot of critics there paid off, the user score is a meager 83 so obviously those users reveived a lower amount, with all the positive Steam reviews though they had to pay so many people off that they probably made no money from this game. My check is likely in the mail, although I don't expect a large amount for only posting in here.Dang mate... Not to mention some false advertising of sorts: the Aston Martin Valhalla sequence that happens in the beginning of the trailer only happens (or WILL happen, no idea if it will be a DLC of sort) in TacSim (haven't played TacSim BTW). Which is irrelevant, as I believe we're only discussing the main story here, in which you only use the car inside the Q-branch garage by the end of the game. Also important: It's a LINEAR experience. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Hitman games, apart from the fact that it's from the same dev, and the lead character is a secret agent... Main campaign is WAY CLOSER to let's say, Uncharted 4, than it is to a Hitman game.
It didn't have that problem because the game is just simply unbalanced mate...
Can't help to think that IOI bribed some (a LOT of) outlets for the score... IGN giving it a 9 is just mind boggling. I'll redact my score and give it a 4.5... couldn't decide between 4 (maybe too harsh...?) and a 5 (too generous), so there goes. One of the worst gaming experiences I had with a triple-A game since Assassin's Creed Valhalla, in a way that I kept wishing it would end soon, so I finally "got it off my system" (literally). To be fair, the game could've ended by the point where the Vietnam chapter concluded. Everything after that, again, is just sloppy (A.I. or otherwise) writing.

I meant the bigger outlets (IGN, gamespot, etc.), but I'm sure you got that part... And then all the zoomer sheep go along with it. I'm not referring to you, obviously, as you're probably as old as I am... I also don't mind that you (or anyone else) like the game. Again: opinions. That's a lot of moolah
For all the hype created (by the devs and the already mentioned outlets), I guess I expected at THE VERY LEAST different ways to complete mission objectives and such... But obviously that's not in the game.did you expect them to put a wig on agent 47 and have him shag a bunch of women and call it a day?
Agree, it's an awesome game. Let's not forget it's a 10-year old game (two thousand and freakin' sixteen), and it basically did EVERYTHING (graphics, story, gameplay, set pieces, covering...) much better than this piece of A.I. SLOP double O seven bullshit.good thing that Uncharted 4 is an awesome game
