Your first football game (or earliest memories)

Not the first I played but where my love for football games really started:

Ah jaysus..
So first one was this abomination

Then I upped my game up got into Kick Off 2. Till this day I dont know if there was a Kick Off 1. Never seen it anywhere.

And then everything changed with
INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR SOCCER.

Me and my dad used to play this for hours! I was always Spain, he was Holland.
I was always very jealous of few friends who had the Deluxe version, coz gameplay was improved and there was more teams.
But I got a notebook and created different Leagues myself. Each International Team would also represent a club. So for instance Brazil was Barcelona. I had all the squads written in the notebook, where I would record goals and cards, transfers and even player wages. Before each match I would edit kits to match the clubs. Each in game player would represent a player from a club. It was all so complex that I have no idea how I could get my head around it as a child.

From then onwards Konami just got better and better until they decided to shit all over their legacy and open online casino.

The End.

Sensible Soccer on the Amiga was mine, then FIFA International on the Mega Drive, same era as you. ISS Pro Evolution was the one that really stuck though, I played that for years.

I still play in real life a few times a week, and the kit side matters more than I expected. Zero Give grip socks are what I wear now, low bulk with a left and right fit, and they stopped the blisters and slipping I used to get in normal socks. It's the kind of thing you don't think about until you've played without them.

The 1st Super Kick Off was on the Master System. I had it along with Shinobi, Super Hang On and Duck Hunt.

My 1st Footy game I remember playing was on the NES, Nintendo World Cup. I think someone already mentioned it.
Stream Soccer

It was only like 5v5 but players died on the pitch if they got hit too much. They'd just lie down and have crosses on their eyes and the game went on 😂😂 It was utter shit but to a 8 year old seemed amazing.

Another early game I remember fondly was Hyper Soccer, also on the NES. I think I got if for Christmas in 1992, a few months after the European Championships had been on. I set it up, on the TV in the lounge and was doing commentary and shouted 'Van Basten' and my Mum thought I said something else and made me turn it off 😂
