Went to see it last night and it was AWFUL. I am a massive fan of the series (right age to have 'grown up with it') and have all the box sets etc.

This was terrible though. Any film in which Billy Connolly is the best thing about it (and I HATE Billy Connolly) then you know you are in trouble.

Horrible pacing, false acting, incomprehensible story line and 'horror-schtick' that just wasnt in any way scary or gripping.

A real turkey. I prefer Duchovny as 'Hank' now and Anderson can stick to doing soft-porn with Danny Dyer :LOL:
 
I read the spoilers and halfways through i had forgot i was reading the x files and it felt like i was reading some random cop drama.

X-Files should have been left for dead. Anyway it's just Carter getting more money, kinda like George Lucas with Star Wars.
 
The way it's advertised on tv though you'd be expecting weird x files shit - but the spoiler i read basically said it was the fbi out to try and catch a killer using some psychic nut ball and a parallel storyline is some crying kid.

Yup totally, because...

about 20 mins into the movie, they are in bed together (asleep) and Scully makes some crude remark about Mulders cock. She also explains why she 'fell in love with him' in another scene. But it comes completely out of the blue, no hint of it at the start of the film, in fact, Scully creeps into Mulders house and says she is worried about him being a recluse!

Totally ruined 10 years or so of 'will they wont they' with a 'they did and you missed it'.

Its all very odd (and sad).
 
MillenniuM is awesome if you can stop forget the terrible season 3.
Season 2 finale IS the series finale for me :D.

Yea, series 3 let it down, but series 1 and most of 2 was awesome. I will never forget when I first settled down to watch the Premier (think it was on Sky 1) and in the opening scene when he is in the strip joint and Nine Inch Nails are playing in the background, I knew it was going to be great :LOL:

We watched a film the other day and Brittany Tiplady was in it (Franks daughter in Millenium) which was quite odd as she looked no different or older!

As superb as Millennium was, that is quite the statement! The first 6 series of X-Files are some of the best TV ever made. To say 2 series' of Millennium was better... sorry, cannot agree!

For me the X-files was individually brilliant, as in certain individual episodes were brilliant, some weren't, Millenium was collectively brilliant, which for me makes Millenium the most brilliant out of the two :)
 
What a bunch of miserable bastards :((. I thought the film was excellent. It was a great storyline and had my heart pounding right til the last minute!

What were you expecting? It said it was The X Files, and it was indeed an X File. Job done, and done pretty well imo.

I disagree, it was not. Scully and Mulder are randomly linked to the plot. The only pleasure is to see them together again but it's just a loner episode of a very average quality. And the post-credits scene is a disgrace.
 
The X Files Complete Collectors Edition, (all 9 seasons plus first movie), turned up Saturday morning :)). I watched Episode 1 & 2 last night in bed :CONFUSE:. Classic stuff :)).

The scariest one out of all of them is when Sculleys Dad dies or something and she sees him in the chair in the front room!!

I hate shit like that. He just sits there and his mouth moves up and down and no sound comes out.

Its probably not scary now - but it was when I was younger.

A good episode is the one with the Freak Circus or something - I remember that being good.
