WWE Legends of WrestleMania

I cant even figure out how to kick out

do you tap the buttons until it reaches the marker? and what's this hold business all about?

I hold a button and then let go when it's in the blue bit.

Any word on hulking up? The move was in the older Smackdown games so there's no excuse for it to not be in. Even if Hogan doesn't have it by default, it should be there in CAL mode right? RIGHT?

Kicking out - you can either hammer the buttons until you fill the gauge or just hold a button down so it fills with green, you then release the button as the green is over the blue area in the gauge. The area gets smaller and smaller as you get beat up.

It becomes more and more difficult to hammer the buttons when you're beat up as well so this hold technique offers one last hundred to one shot attempt at kicking out.

So at the end you have 2 choices - do you hammer the buttons and hope you fill the gauge or do you go with the hold technique. Either way if you fail you can't go back and try the other so it's a gamble.

Hogan's move...
I think it's in there in a relive modes as a scripted event but that's about it. No word if it's in the game as a selectable move but we won't know until the middle of next week when people start getting the game early or if a site with the game let us know before then.

Cool, nice to hear them reference 'Wrestlefest' too! :)

Caved in last night and got SvR2009 as it was only £25 in Blockbuster and I traded in £36 of stuff.

Quite like what I've played of it so far, and the RTW is pretty cool.

It is very easy (so far) though to win the matches, but I still like it. May sell it after Legends while it's stock is still high though...

Does Legends have difficulty level or is it just a set one and if their is one what was the demo set to?

Demo's of THQ WWE games seem to always be set on easy or normal. They feel hard at first because they always revamp the AI and re do the controls so the initial difficulty feeling is always mainly attributed to those.

I think in this demo's case the difficulty will be on 'Normal' or 'Hard'. I don't think it's on 'Easy' as they reverse a lot of moves, but I'm not thinking it's set to 'hard' because on hard the AI usually spam blocks and reverse lots of moves (as least with the SvR titles)

So I'd guess at normal.

Added some bits to my 'legends save' today.

I've had to half make a few people because either their attire is in the legends game so it's pointless making it on Sd09 with designs and crap wasting time - or - the caw was originally made on the Xbox 360 which has 64 layers in caw mode but the ps3 only has 32.

So I've had to dumb them down to the ps3 layer limit.

Cactus jack for example - his shirt logo just isn't going to happen in 10 layers, the 360 caw takes something like 16. but there's a chance of there being something that looks like it on the legends game for us to use.

I've also made mankind in his white shirt and then made a naked version ready for his older debut attire that has been shown in the preview videos.

I've not given anyone a moveset either yet because they said that the movesets would be changed as you copied caws over and some of your caws will need their movesets fixing. So i didnt want to spend hours doing them all only for them to screw up as you copy over into the QTE world.

I'll try and add as many more as i can - people can just pick and choose who they want from it and get some images up soon just to wet your whistles.

Cool cheers Rad - looking forward to it!

Have you done Demolition? Brain Busters? Marty Jannetty? Rick Martel & Tito Santana (Strike Force!!)?

Not heard of Brain Busters before?

I'm stuck on which system to get this for. 360 has the gamerscore (always nice  ) and my housemate can also share it (I try to be a nice guy) but then I'm missing out on free online play and Rad's CAW's if I don't go with the PS3 version.

Custom music doesn't really interest me to be honest. The PS3 might have custom music through the XMB anyway as games are starting to support that more and more nowadays.

Brainbusters were Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard they were in WWF in 1989 and they were managed by Bobby Heenan.

Correct! They were quite intense and I like their finishing move - "The Brain Buster", which was basically a spiked pile-driver from the turnbuckle.

Cannot remember who they fought, but it was the opening match of Summerslam 89 - was either the Hart Foundation or the Rockers - think it was the 'Foundation in a a 20 min classic.

Arn Anderson is in the game, I'm not that big of a Tully fan myself so i'll leave that for someone else.

Demolition will be added to my game - but they won't be on the SD09 game save. A guy on caws.ws started making one half of them but it's a 64 layer version and with some of Demolitions attire being shown in the CAW preview videos I'm hoping that their face paints and other parts will be in there as well.

Marty Jannetty - I'd love to but the lack of hair in SD09 for him ruins anything I try at the moment so I'll be waiting for next week to start him.

Rick Martel & Tito Santana - I doubt I have time to add them to my Sd09 save but I'll be adding them to my legends game and be adding a 'Model, Rick Martel too.

-

I'll be posting formulas for any legends I make on the legends game so anyone can make them themselves - as we can't share the save file for the Legends game as it has trophies. The formulas will work on ps3 and 360 just like Sd09 does.

Who I have added so far (Limited by who has been made by others already and who I've managed to make)

Diesel - Basic black attire with straight font on the stomach - I wanted to try the slanted text but not enough layers - hopefully there will be someone on the Legends game for it.

Scott Steiner (Steiner Brothers Attire)
Rick Steiner (Steiner Brothers Attire)
Luke (By Me)
Butch (By Me)
Goldust
Cactus Jack - No chest 'wanted' logo - hoping there is something on Legends to go there.
Mankind - white shirt
Mankind - no clothes ready for the attire thats on the legends game

Owen Hart
X-Pac
Randy Savage - red trunks 80's attire (no stars as the critch blur ruins it) I made him basic as his attires on the legends game.

Kurt Angle - I took an 09 TNA caw, added hair and made his debut attire

Giant Gonzales - started making this tonight - I'm only doing the basic face as his attire body suit is in the legends game. I've set height at it's maximum and it's too short so hopefully once it's converted over to legends I can tweak it to match the in games better.
I'll leave it on the save though anyway.

I'll try to add as many as I can make over the weekend and start of next week - It's easier if someone else has made them for 09 as I can just remake or convert from 360 to PS3. but those that need to be made from scratch are near impossible with the tripe hair styles.

Thought of some more...

Texas Tornado, The Beserker, Pappa Shongo (is he in it already?) and instead of X-Pac, how about the 1-2-3 Kid!?

Razor Ramon? Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Tazz, Zeus, Red Rooster, Mr T

Ah man! Summerslam 89 is on YT... I'm so watching that now! Was my first real WWF main event and I got it for X-Mas one year on VHS. Was in a massive case so I think it was imported from USA, but I'd be surprised if it was as I doubt video players/TV's would have accepted an NTSC signal back then... annnnnyway...

Just watching SS89 - so many memories flooding back! This WAS PROPER wrestling. Schiavanie and Jesse Ventura are superb commentating team and this Hart Foundation v Brain Busters match up is a million times better than any of the shite WWE chuck out now days...

Right, I'm going to dig up the old Summerslam's and Wrestlemania's I think :)

We (as in the WWF Kingdom site) stream these online at the weekends if you fancy joining, we have just about everything and anything you can think of. We we're watching wrestlemania 3 or 4 a few weeks back, then put summerslam at wembley on, bulldog vs bret hart was great.

Might join that :)

Just watching SS 89 on Youtube ... man, they don't make them like this anymore! Look at the crowd go, they're loving it!

Whole atmosphere is different and the commentary team really make it too... love it! Makes you realise how good this era was going into the early 90s

Dusty Rhodes FFS  He pissed me off big time. Wasn't he Golddust as well?

Did P.Diddy model himself on Jimmy Hart?

Who was the guy who used to pat himself on the back? Was it Barry Windham?

Yea, the 'Widow Maker' - I remember he would team with the other jobber, the Brooklyn Brawler in jobber tag matches!

Gotta turn this off and go to bed - just up to Demolition/Duggan v Twin Towers/Andre.

The crowd pops in this are really something, far better than I remembered! They go mental at things like suplex's... and how nice to see a good old fashioned pile driver, before the 'WWE' outlawed them :/

Haha just reading on Wiki and it mentioned The Mountie! I used to have the action figure of him! I think I used to have the Texas Tornado and Hacksaw Jim Duggan as well

99/00 seems to be the era I remember most. The likes of Al Snow, Chyna, British Bulldog, Crash Holly, D'Lo Brown and Eddie Guerrero :)

Someone has made a decent Texas Tornado on the 360 but they've not posted the formula yet. The same for Papa shango - someone made a great one a while ago but never posted it. I might have a go at him.

I'll have a go at changing X-Pac into 123 Kid (have both on there) I added X-Pac for an old school DX - i have a billy gunn formula to make him, but no road dogg yet.

Razor Ramon - there are a few of him that have been made on the 360 but they're holding them back for next week for the legends game as his actual hair is in that game so it saves layers and looks better.

Tazz is on Smackdown 09 so you can import him over - red rooster should be possible as his hair is on Sd09.. i never was a fan of him but he is possible. Mr T, im sure ive seen a Mr T caw for 09 .. ill have to have a look.

GAMESPOT PREVIEW

http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/acti...c_id=m-1-48530198&pid=946180&tag=topics;title

I just wrapped a 20 minute interview with THQ's Paul Edwards....here are the highlights:

The Royal Rumble has been redone, there are new animations such as clotheslining your opponents ,back body drop , hiptoss out of the ring.

Custom music is confirmed

CAWS imported from SVR can upgrade overall stats in Legends of Mania

DLC ....No comment

There is a tag team style move but no tag team finishers to speak of...very vague on this question.

Characters in Legends were all approved through legal department-- so if they are not in the game there was some type of legality.

I asked about connectivity for future SVR games as far as bringing Legends into SVR the idea is there but thats all I got on that question.

Wrestlefest was a huge inspiration for this game

When you Import your characters (CAW) from SVR09 they take a slot from the 30 CAL slots in LOW....so you wont have 60 created characters only 30 but still it gives you over 130 wrestlers in all.

I asked about call names for superstars not in the game and he said players who were diligent enough will find that some superstars get the nod in this game ...very vague but I am interested in finding what he means.

Again ...This interview will air on Sunday night during my show SundayNightShowdown as we cover the TNA PPV Destination X and I will archive the interview Sunday night or Monday morning on its own. Feel free to stop by on sunday night at 6pm MST for the best PPV coverage and news and rumours of the last few weeks and of course THQ's Paul Edwards interview concerning Legends of Wrestlemania This sunday night March 15 th at sundaynightshowdown.com.
