Simple as it sounds. Being favorite doesn't mean better.Its more like it has place in your heart, something like that...

for me it is pes 6.

That was the worst "of course" using i've ever seen. :THINK:

P.S: PES 3 for me, but PES 5 would be better, but those small fouls were really bad for the gameplay.

I'm not sure which to say:

PES3 - Patient, fairly realistic build up play leads to some great passing moves and some nice goals but the shooting, handballs, refs, crosses and headers (too easy), corners (too easy) annoy me.

PES4 - Very fast game where every players was superhuman and could control the ball in an instant, really great for online fun. Shooting (especially long range) and keepers were quite bad though.

PES5 - The most solid game of the series in my opinion, the best shooting system of the series (especially volleys), a fairly good pace to the game and super cancel was a good skill to have in it. Constant fouls were annoying though. This is probably the only PES I have played Master League for a fairly long time on (played it for about 4 seasons).

PES6 - AI seems to take over more and make the game more scripted, the shooting system gets screwed (shots that get rocketed into space for no apparent reason), long range free kicks are impossible, cutbacks, Adriano becomes superman, more twats come into online but the fun I had in some 2v2s and how good it looked when fully patches made up for it a bit

PES2008 - Absolute joke of a game, nothing more to be said.

So it's between PES3, PES4 and PES5. I will go with PES5 because its the one I remember having the most fun on and enjoying master league a bit.

FIFA has overtaken PES now so I rarely play PES any more, seems so arcadey and scripted to me now :(.
 
I´m between PES 3 and PES 5. First one took gameplay and graphics to a whole new level and PES 5 simply because it´s the most solid game of the series in every aspect.
 
the auto side-steps of pes5 really killed the game, but pes5 without auto side-steps and the refinement of pes 6, could be the perfect game IMO (for that gen).

reagarding sidesteps, they were manual(by pressing R2) in pes4, auto(pressing the d-pad 90º) in pes5, went to manual in pes 6, went to auto in pes 2008, so seems that in 2009 they will be manual again :)

I'll go for PES6 purely for the 2v2 online.

PES5 was great except for too many fouls and no 2v2 online unless it was 2 on 1 console/PC.
 
pes3 of course.....and we7.....(we7 was better than pes3 ..but both they were very realistic games)

and now we have this pes2008 shit [-(
 
If the old PES or even better WE's had full leagues and cups not the asinine ML I would still be playing on my chipped PS2 with the great patches the guys on here belt out... I'd be one happy bunny...

To be honest Czarny PES2 was one of the Stiffest and Worst PES's ive played to date. I went back to it the other week just to see what it USED to be like... It made me realise how fortunate we were with PES4 and 5 allthough in 5 my players felt as if they were on Rails and would miscontrol the ball everytime they ran onto it!!
 
When I think about the time I had fun with a game it would be ISS Pro Evolution II on PS1.

But on PC I think it is a race between 5 and 6. I'm still playing both titles but I think PES 5 ist the more "complete" game.
 
PES5/WE9LE. I really like this version even the fouls. You actually have total control over the fouls. You can decide to have a clean game or a rough game. Also tactical fouls are possible while in other versions you have to slide tackle and get either yellow or red.

I don't care your opinion because you are FIFA fan :r1 I'm kidding ;))

Serious now... I'm very honest mate, look -> WE2002 / PES2 ONLINE LEAGUE and tell me why 900 players want to play this than the newest PES? The game which has 6 years is alive! The best football game! :)) You are mistaken mate... Try to play online please and check this awesome gamplay, great phisics of pass & shots, no lags etc. PES 2008 have more bugs that game which has 6 years... Konami lost mind and make shit arcade game for kids and money with shit online mode, no for real fanatics of PES - this is my opinion. Graphics and animation is not important for me.

PES6.

Fully patched, it's just amazing.
Really loved 4 though and 5, as those were the first I got from moving to PC from PS2, and saw the benefits of patching.
 
pes5 for me although ive gone to pes6 now

But pes5 patched with superpatch i think it was called + kitserver ballserver stadium server etc i was more than happy with.If the squads stayed upto date and teams in correct leagues id be happy with pes5.That said i believe konami should put out updates tso that everyone can keep there game updated with new transfers.
 
PES4 for online play, as I played that most online and had some amazing matches, probs the best football game I played online, for XBOX that is.

PES6 and 2008 were similar to me (this is the PS2 versions which were no where near as bad as the next gen versions) anyway, I also loved 3 for gameplay, and 5 its hard to decide, 3 or 5 I would say, although 4 was really fun online. Hmmmmm... I got them all anyway, could play them and get a different opinion.
 
pes5 is without any doubts the best pes ever. balance is great, pace is solid, shooting and passing takes skill and ball physics top notch. you really had to work for your shot and there are probably no real glitches like putbacks in pes6.
