I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to video cards, I currently have a Sapphire Radeon X300SE which lets me play the pes2008 demo on medium, which card do i need to play pes on the highest settings and get the most out of the new pes?

Try 8800GTS-320MB! I've got one and it's pretty good card. Higher mainstream!

Thanks for the quick reply, will that run on my computer? also how do i install that will i have to get a professional to install it or is it fairly easy to do it yourself?

Open your PC, pull the old card out, Plug and Play. Maybe I should say, Swap and Play, hehe.

(If you have a really old vid card make sure you have an AGP port and not PCI, there are several PCIs and only 1 AGP if you don´t know the difference)

Install drivers and thats it!

I have Nvivda GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB and I can play PES 2008 Demo on 1680X1050 with full resolution and I don't have any problem .

the demo for pes08 doesnt work for me either which means i need a new graphics card i think, but how much do these things cost so you can play it, i have no idea. can anyone help.

Bit of mixed advice here, if you have AGP slot for your graphics card then a 8800GTS will be no good because that is PCI-E (express) if you don't know if your motherboard uses pci, agp or pci-e then you better find out exactly what motherboard you have before spending money on a new card.

Once you get a new one, it's very easy to install at home, just open the case, take the screw out the old card and slide it out before sliding the new one in and closing everything back up. But first find out what motherboard you are using :)

Edit: i searched up the Radeon X300SE and that seems to be a PCI-e card so you should be ok with any new card, depending on what you want to pay. I would imagine any of these would give you a big improvement:

I have a Radeon X1600 and the demo stutters on medium on 1024 x 768. Is this card not enough or am I not setting up something correctly?

Thank you very much for your response, really helpful advice mate thanks again.

using GF8600GT 256MB here, a bargained option.

1280x1024 @ HIGH: 60fps in match view and ~25fps in close view
1024x768 @ HIGH: 60fps in match view and ~35fps in close view
