Wembley Stadium Update

We knew this for ages. they said 70% chance, I said 30%

The media wanted it to be late, and were speculating for about 6months.

It so the media can get heads rolling, because they all want their little power tips.

They will blame the government etc. But they can't control Steel Prices, or Construction unions. Even if they did, it would be seen as malicious.

Are you having a laugh??

Did you ever go to the old Wembley??

It was a shit hole.

Think he meant, incorporate it into the new design.

To be honest they weren't really 'towers' as such, but the new one is classified as a skyscraper. The Arch is as tall as the London Eye.

So if you haven't been there then really you cannot comment accurately

Yes it was a symbol of English Football but it had become an embarassment. The majority of seats had just been bolted on to the old standing terraces and the views were appalling in some.

The old Wembley was a 20th century stadium, it badly needed updating. The new stadium will be the best in the world, so if we have to wait a little bit more then so be it.

I'm gonna try and update this, and dig out some more recent pics for the talented stadium editors to apply their magic ;)

The most recent, that I know of. With pitch laid :)

Looking great, a true masterpiece.
Pitty it will host such a crappy national team.

after finally seeing some proper interior pics, and the general impact it has on the skyline too, this stadium pisses on every other stadium on earth from a height beyong the heavens.

Just AWESOME.

Once the roof support cranes etc are out the way, the construction will speed up. (as you can see it stops the stands from being completed. From the webcam they are lifting alot of the roof finish on.

Just to let you know, those lower stands can be moved back and under in preperation for a stage, for concerts, and a track for athletics if needs be.

They need to do build a construction like that in the Amsterdam ArenA too; theres a (too)big gap between the stands and the actual pitch. It would contribute to a great atmosphere...
