Something definitely isn't right about the AI's substitution logic. I've had the CPU bring on 2 players in the first half many, many times. I know this isn't to say that this doesn't ever happen in football, but the number of times the computer has used 2 subs in the first half is really stretching it. Often the substitution is a double substitution after 25 minutes or so, and most often the score is still 0-0.
Mainly, though, I just wish the passing wasn't so poor, to be honest. I'm pleased to see that there are more stray balls now, because if you watch a real match a great deal of the transfers of possesion do occur because of missed/intercepted passes, rather than crunching tackles. However I think they took it too far. Players routinely fail to complete a short pass to a teammate nearby, or they'll wrongfoot their teammate completely from an easy ball.
The L1 through ball has also been made almost completely useless now. They took most of the loft out of the pass, so that unless you're about 40+ yars out the ball will go straight to the goalkeeper. Personally, I defintiely say it's about time they included a meter for throughballs ala Football Kingdom, and also took through passes off the 'rails' they currently seem to be on. I know there's the manual pass option, but frankly this is poorly implemented, and even Football Kingdom showed with one try that manual, 360-controlled through passes are easy to include.
