hopefully!!! then people like you won't be able to play this game, because they don't want to support the best football game!!!

hmm let me comment on this one and I think the moderator's won't consider my comment as warez talk.

In my point of view Konami indirectly motivates a higher rate of pirated copies. Let me explain myself. WE is probably the only global game that still hasn't got a global release. It's totally ridiculous that the european market, that nowadays buys as many copies as the japanese market gets a version with a difference of 3 months. In my opinion the european deadline is in the fact the right one, since it allows proper transfer update. Konami can't expect to avoid piracy galore when it releases we9 3 months ahead, in a ridiculous move. Surely many ppl will get their hands on a copy of the japanese release, even if they later on buy their licensed PESx version.

I think all true fans of WE/PES feel they should buy an official copy of their game, Konami deserves it for giving us the best game around. Nonetheless, Konami sure also deserve the punishment of the dumb: the day they stop being so regionally arrogant and treat WE/PES (why different names? here you have it...) as the GLOBAL product it is, surely piracy will be a meager number, with ppl buying their copies, launched globally like other sucessful internacional titles.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

Look at how many people import the game to Europe and then still buy PES. That's extra sales right there too.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

that's meaningless jumbo, you are talking about 10,20 peole in this huge forum who are ordering it. It's a drop of water in an ocean of millions of copies sold. In fact europeans aren't supposed to be able to play WE in their PS2, that also means they have changed it, either hardware either software meaning, so it's also a kind of piracy.

It doesn't make sense. Nothing in this makes sense since this august release is ridiculous in terms of transfer update in european teams, and WE is 70% european teams (merciful percentage). So why in the hell konami don't launch a single WE9/PES in October, with proper testing, bug erradication and transfer update? Beats the hell out of me, but it won't be the first nor the last marketing peculiarty about the jap gaming industry for sure.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

Are you tryin to say that if there was one worldwide release, pirates would buy the game instead of downloading it? I don't really see that happening. :)

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

well mauras you have some valid points but my opinion is that WE is a japanese game created for the japanese market. i believe SEABASS makes the game with this mentality and it can be backed up with things like the "go for 2006 nippon challenge" and the focus on japanese players and team. it would have been great if you could pick any team and go for through the regional qualifiers towards the world cup but that is more work and not a priority for them. in the end it comes down to how much of your resources do you want to put into globalization of the product and for KCET the first priority is the japanese market.

they release versions for europe and US later because it's not the first priority. europe before US since they have a much bigger market for football. japanese before europe because, well the creators are japanese. in the end it is partly resources and partly ethnocentrism, which would be the case if this was a EU game made by europeans.

my perspective is we are lucky to even get european and US versions of this game, and even more lucky that we have the access and ability to get our hands on the japanese version and play it. i'm sure if they had the resources, they would do everything perfectly but in reality, resources and time are always limited. and for me, i would prefer they continue to evolve the series rather than using more resources to globalize each release.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

It's a grey area. I mean I buy the PES and WE:International versions each year but d/l the Jpaanese versions which technically were never meant for me to buy/play anyway. I support Konami financially by buying the copies which are meant for my market so how pissed would they be that I rip the ones which aren't in all reality?

The cheap scum are the people that never buy any version but rip all of them.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

Because is not just 20 people from this forum that are going to buy WE9, people from all over the world try to get the game, what about places where WE or PES don't even get to, like Argentina! So they release WE9 so like that asia buys it, people from all over the world, then release PES so europe buys it, and then WE9 so people from all over the world buy it again! That Simple! :D

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

I live in the US and i have bought and will be playing WE9 in a few days.

But i am all for scrapping all these releases and Konami should concentrate on 1 worldwide release a year and make each release significantly better than these slight improvements every 6 months or so.

The reason why I can't play is because my PS2 isn't chipped and I don't want to risk it, and don't have the money to spend on that.

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

I just bit the bullet and went to Play-Asia and ordered WE9 with the UPS shipping. I just don't think I can bear coming here reading about people playing it without me having it myself!

Oh well, cost me over 80 bucks including the fast shipping but I'll play the living crap out of it so it's all good!

Hey I have a question, i live in the U.S. too and I want to order it, what do you need to play it? do you need the swap magic? because i asked and somebody told me that you can play it with the swap magic in a ps2 from the u.s, can somebody help me with this?

Re: Winning Eleven 9 - Official Discussion Thread Part 2

I think a sub-forum for people to post their own reviews of WE9 should be created.

This would be handy for us none-WE9 buyers to stress out envy...... and also see whats in store for us when we get our PES5
