Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Well the Premiership licence would be amazing although it sounds impossible and too good to be true. But it does fit in with what was said in the latest podcast, that there is still a secret that makes the game more official.
The Premier League WONT be licensed.. EA have an EXCLUSIVE deal with the FA. Basically Konami can only license 2 Premier League teams in game which has been the case since PES5. We best get used to Newcastle and Spurs everyone... it aint going to change.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Uhm, they actually might have lost the italian license.

There was a drastic change in the italian football League and the new guys are a bunch of old ass..les, they put superhigh prices for ball licensing ( nike offered 30 millions for 5 years, adidas and puma decided not to make any offer) and tv rights, so it does not sound impossible they also rise the price for their games licenses.

So they might have got milan and other big ones individually. Just pure speculations, but the lack of italian stadia and the presence of a stadium editor seems to suggest that maybe they lost some stadia license and therefore league license as well.

P.S.
I hope not, my fav italian team is back, genoa....it would be nice to play with them on line, my bilbao kinda suck lately.

Where has this Stadium Editor been confirmed?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I think it is not confirmed........just dull monday morning speculations....but one thing is sure the game sells tons, i guess around 10 mil. worldwide (more or less), so they should make enough money to buy some new leagues. How much can those brasilian or argentinian leagues cost?? i mean every decently diving player with long hair is sent to europe, maybe sending a couple of pages contract to tokyo shouldn't be so expensive.

And what happened to SeaBass blog???? 3 paragraphs every 2 months is not a blog ffs.

I'd sooner they spent the money on bringing new members of staff to the team who will help develop and expand the game.

If the in-game editors are as really good as people are making out, licensing is surely completely irrelevant, as we can create all our own stuff in-game now and share it via option files.

And if they added editor options for creating loads of new teams and leagues structures, everyone would be happy, even me.

But of course, that would be too easy, so instead they waste some money on buying licenses for a couple of mid-table Premiership teams in a risible attempt to appease people. They may as well have not bothered.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I Look forward to doing that move.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I stil wonder if we can exchange option files. If everything is in one option file, the player-profile is there as well, meaning that every option file is unique en then we canNOT use others option files.

I didn't think of that.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

even if the option file is bound to the user account, I still have hope, that someone creates an option file editor with the option to copy parts (kits, formations, players) from one file to another.

The other problem with unlicensed teams is online play. Unfortunally you have to play online with the default database (PC can be edited, though)

It would be a good addition, if you can choose to play with your edited db (in friendlies only, otherwise it would be cheater's heaven)

Let's hope so...

Maybe one of our members who have contacts with a beta version can ask them to take a look at the option file?
Is it a single file or is the profile separated?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

They shouldn't have restrictions on option files. It's nothing illegal. Lets say i want to use my option file on my friend's PS3, you want to tell me i'm not allowed to? I don't think so. Lets say i have 2 PS3s, or mine broke or whatever and got another one, does that mean my option file won't work on my new PS3 and have to start all over? Don't think so.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Thomas, can your contact answer the question in my previous post?

I never ask about that, i don't know

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

What do you mean about the option file?
We wont be able to make a general copy paste from ps3 to ps3 via a memory stick?Like the one in pes6(ps2) for ps3...?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I don't think we'll be hearing anything exciting before we see the "game in motion" video...

Konami's press office (if such a thing exists) has clearly ran out of 'exciting' news to leak. I say that after the earth-shattering news of the "mailbox" has arrived.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Well, we got a whole bunch of interesting news last week.
We can't expect every day to get news. How should they be able to feed us with daily news until 26 october? That's roughly 80 days :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

@ Han, maybe if they actually developed some new and innovative elemets with regard to game structure and options they would have a better chance. Instead they have to feed us the "Mailbox" Which surely is essentially the topic pop-up but with an email icon next to it :D / :( / :@

Just saw this, dont know if its old news:

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/display...CSext.page=games-PBODY-HC_HOMEPAGE_REC-637873

Release date 21 september according to hmv. Are they reliable?

Hmm Play.com still lists 26th October still i hope Play.com right and not HMV. Reason i say that is because i hope Konami havnt brought forward the release due to Fifa 08 release next month.

We will know for certain in a few weeks the release date at Leipzig. :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

konami don't need to bring their release date forward IMO, they've never done it in the past, EA have done it though so they get out there before PES.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Gamekult (biggest French video games website) and the Micromania (biggest video games shop in France) the both says 15 October

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I think it is the old trick to get some extra buyers. Just pick a far too early date... good for selling games

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Just read the W.E.N.B. Blog for all news from last week.

I think he was being ironic about the fact there was no newsworthy news about the game its self.

I'd also like to take the time to thank Lami for assuring us the Master League is going to be completely re-done from the ground up with realistic finances and league structures and the mailbox will NOT be the only new feature. Thanks Lami it's good to know.

I have not assured anything. I said I'm pretty confident. I do not work for any magazine and do not have any contacts. And your sarcasm is quite crap. You need to chill.

Yes, I know. If I really thought he missed something I would have taken the time to tell him. My answer was also ironic :)
Like you are often, see this post towards Lami.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Ok, I'm pretty confident there won't be. I do not work for any magazine and do not have any contacts.

Who is right? So far all we've heard is there are no changes to the ML or it's simply been "pimped up" (suggesting things like pub scenes and mailboxes), everyone is hanging to this thin thread of a dream that a brand new ML will be unveiled in Leipzig - but what evidence is there for this? Absolutely none, zero, zilch. If a jury were looking at this "case" who do you think would win.

I am quite chilled thanks and I certainly do not need your advice - if I want it I will ask for it.

Lami, I think there are two groups of posters overhere.
The group sended by EA ( ;) ) to break off every positive post :D
The group who is here out of genuine interest in the new game.

Nothing more to add ;)
