Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I've noticed that we don't usually get info on weekends.. Maybe I'm slow, and all of you probably noticed this already...

Yep but in the famous words of Neil Warnock "We get the doom and gloom squad instead"

On a serious note not much of a surprise work not open and generally weekend is for rest so hardly any news. :)

W.E.N.B reported Stadium list for PES 2008 on PS2 though :)

http://www.winningelevenblog.com/2007/08/list-of-stadiums-from-ps2-version-of.html

No Old Trafford gutting i suppose no suprise as it appears the lost licence though prays for Next Gen version. :(

Seasbass seems like a dictator leader and a control-freak. He should hire more efficient people and LISTEN to them. The audio on this game is so 1990s soccer game-ish.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

i see the ps2 has got the same stadiums again

hopefully there are a few new ones for the 360/ps3 version

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Honestly I can't imagine more stadiums on PES 2008 but... oh well, we need to see that when the game releases...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

The PS2 version will be horrible. I am glad that I sold my PS2, but honestly I am not very confident that the PS3 version will be far better... damn, I am being very negative but with the last news... oh well...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I really cant see us getting any more information about the game until the 23rd (Leipzig). Lets hope i'm wrong

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I'd also like to thank Han for easing our worries. He's come in and assured us the gameplay is going to be completely re-worked and be different to current-gen versions despite multiple sources declaring otherwise. Let's all remember Han's wise words and we can thank him when the game is released for letting us know so early.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Considering how underwhelming the 1st "proper" next-gen version of the game is, I'd like Konami to keep its "surprises" for the release.

We were expecting too much from a company of 10 people. Poor, poor Konami. Poor and stupid. With very little work, they could have dominated the soccer market. Being #1 is hardly enough.

We all have to realise its not the first proper next gen releaes.
On the PS2 we didnt get a proper next gen release until PES3 the third installment.
And with Konami having no business sense and not using the time advantage of the Xbox 360 to their benefit we will have to wait.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

J League has 63 stadiums doesn't it? If so I wont be happy if all of them don't make it into the next gen versions.

few rumours (maybe confirmation soon)

- you have a mail box for tranfers etc...
- Henry control like that http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/henry+manchester/video/x1w57g_henry_sport
- Maybe Premierleague licence because Konami put fantasy kits (do the same for keep secret the Ligue 1 licence last year)
- push UP for add player in the wall and DOWN for delete
- Shirt pulling it's just a animation

Really doubt there Premiership licence unless Konami blown insane amount of cash.

Henry control would be quality though. :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

- More visual, the interface of the LM proves especially more intuitive, with in particular a multitude of messages flooding your box e-mail and some animations here and there.

- Secret still held gestures put which pourraien well, according to our information being three: the hook in talonade, control piqué and the dive, without forgetting a multitude of animations contributing have to immerse you in full heart of the match.

- a player who goes up his socks, the line judge which beckons to play when the attacker is not off-side, even, as its will be the case on PS3, with “insert camera”

- Thus, when your adversary obtains a frank blow you cannot move your wall for better stopping the angles of strike or putting the large one at the place the small ones, May by maintaining the L2 trigger inserted and while supporting on bottom or high, you will be able to withdraw or add players.

- It any more but does not remain to take down the licence of the first league, perhaps even as of this year since, in the version that we had between the hands, all the English teams had whimsical shirts. An easy way which had, two years ago, licence with Konami to hold secret the licence of League 1.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

What is the point of the Henry control? Sounds like another glossy gimmick they've added in to distract people from the fact they have done buggar all to improve the gameplay in 5 years. Let's face it Henry has done that skill maybe once in his entire career and you rarely, if ever see it done by anyone else. Complete waste of time in my opinion.

- you have a mail box for tranfers etc...

Let me guess this is going to be the "pimped up ML" we heard about. What a fantastic addition, forget about re-structured leagues, realistic finances and transfers, manager mind games and other managerial features, let's have a MAIL BOX. Wow that's fantastic, maybe it will make a wacky little sound when you get a new "email".

You really need to release the pent up anger hehe i understand your points but they always seem to be negative. Hey Adonis or Suff get this guy some VIP access to speak to Seabass he then might start to lighten up. :D

I understand that you are annoyed but from my perspective all you seem to do is hit on every new feature and put a negative spin on it.

Oh well each to there own as saying goes. :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Absolutely not if you look through my posts you will see a myriad of enthusiastic and positive comments. It's just every time a new feature list comes out it's an utter disappointment or I'm sceptical as to whether it will be ruined by Konami style limitations.

I will add something positive, I'm 99% sure most of, if not all the Premiership will be licensed which would be a great acquisition for Konami. We have these rumours of the fantasy kits and it sounds like Suff and Adam know it as well because they mentioned the fact Konami would never have released screenshots with only 2 EPL teams licensed, implying it would have given people the wrong expectation as in reality behind the scenes they were working on having them all licensed. That's my take on it anyway.

I have been through your posts i would say 70% of them seem to have appeared to be negative everytime i see a post like above i feel like you want to explode with rage.

Not saying stop of course its your right to post but that just how appeared to me. I can see how your annoyed but way Konami work im not a fan of there PR and its something they must change. I feel if they done proper research to what fans want it would be better hopefully with start of W.E.N.B thing can change further down line we shall see. :)

nice posts bingham.

Yup I agree with him as well. Their marketing department really has no idea how to present the game to the European market in the build up to the release. I can't see it ever getting to the stage where Konami actually take note of what the fans and community want.

The only real hope is that WENB get enough clout in the industry that they can impose themselves to the extent they were communicating directly with Konami, then again PES FAN have a suggestions forum which contains ideas for features all vetted and voted for by the community and which, Konami are supposed to be viewing, yet it seems not a single one of the features has been implemented.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I have been through your posts

Poor bugger...

For people like me who read this thread just to find some news, this thread is a virtual Guantanamo Bay...

Some of the moaners sound to me like spoiled brats who have got the faintest idea how corporate life works in practice.
One moment they are pretending that all that counts is gameplay and the next 50 posts, they are moaning about how bad a couple of screeshots are looking and for god's sake they are complaining that the audience are looking the wrong way...who cares about that when playing the game.
The fact that people complain about licences for clubs like Spurs and Newcastle proves that in football a very large quantity of "fans" are glory hunters...to me it seems rather courageous of Konami to license other clubs than the big ones...and just like Thomas said, who knows, maybe the premiership will be licensed.
Each year round the same period Konami is playing games with the fans, it's called building a hype and each year the same persons fall for it, some people really haven't got a clue.
And then there is the moaning about licenses and the number of clubs and stadiums...well next gen consoles have their online networks so it should be perfectly possible to give downloadable additions. New downloadable teams or stadiums or whatever...
I'm not 100% happy with the game aswell...i also would like a more realistic ML (but 20 years from now football will have evolved towards the original ML...a pan-European competition and then it will occur that Konami were visionary...) and it is absurd that Konami aren't listening more to the large online communities, but hey it's only a video game. And all those people who want 100% reality (with audience who are looking the right way...lol) they lack imagination.
All this so called discussion is very absurd to me...and this based on a couple of screen shots...you haven't seen the game in motion yet some of you are sure that it will be pants...
Sad.

Well the Premiership licence would be amazing although it sounds impossible and too good to be true. But it does fit in with what was said in the latest podcast, that there is still a secret that makes the game more official.

Whats the point of Henry's control? Point is having top player signatures in game to make PES as more realistic as possible. He did do it didnt he? So its not a complete waste of time; if you don't like it then don't do it.

Knowing we have a new feature in ML is better than knowing nothing at all. It doesn't really mean thats the ONLY thing were going to have. I'm pretty confident there's more to it than just a "mailbox".

And why are you moaning about gameplay exactly? ALL magz and contacts clearly said that we should PLAY the game and SEE it in MOTION to believe how AMAZING it is. Stop your useless moaning already about almost everything. Remember, its not Han, its the magazines and contacts.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

mailbox in ML? finally - have been waiting for this for years! who cares about league structure if you get a mailbox + pub cutscenes. wooohoooo I love this game!
