Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

man, i can't believe how blind FIFA and other FAs are. Konami's WE/PES series is a rising figure in the football gaming genre, how can they not sell some rights to Konami? EA needs to be more nice. plus EA should focus on other gaming genre and leave football gaming to Konami.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

Sorry if this seems to be a pretty dumb question ,how come FIFA on the PS2 have more teams than PES on the PS2 ? I mean if it's bout space storage then I don't understand what is the problem not adding more leagues (lower leagues).Again if it seems to be obvious for y'all I'm sorry but I never got to understand it so please enlighten me .
Thank you

Oh boy, my favourite subject! This will guarantee ten "shut up" posts. :D

FIFA have lower-leagues because they pay for the license, but other football games (even created in Japan, such as World Football Climax) have unlicensed lower-leagues. In other words, the leagues are called "England Champ", "England 1" etc., and the teams are called various things (teams like Tranmere Rovers can be called Tranmere because that is the name of a town, whereas teams like Nottingham Forest have to be called Nottingham and nothing else, etc.)... Player names etc. are faked as well.

Why don't Konami do that? Because they don't want to. They don't have enough researchers, or data inputters. Seabass may well request them but Konami refuse the money (considering how well PES sells - is it their biggest selling sports game? - you'd think they would pump a bit of money back into it, but no, it's all into the businessmen's back pockets).

But stupidity is what stops them from adding blank leagues and blank teams (which could then be patched to be whatever leagues you wanted, Polish, Czech, English lower-league, whatever the hell you wanted). And that's what pisses me off the most about PES - where something could be added that takes five minutes, and they just don't bother.

Konami have in front of them something which could "destroy" FIFA badly and they seem so lazy that it frustrates to the bone.I mean they claimed to be listening to fans and according to them fans wanted badly the DIVING feature and I just cannot belieave that.I really love this game but with few minor additions that anyone with a decent common sense would think of ,PES could turn out to be so fantastic.I can only hope they make some miracles in terms of game depth comme the release date but I ain't optimistic .
ps: BTW Jack Bauer is my fav series character

This is a first from me (well, second) but I actually think those shots look good!

The expressions are a bit dodgy (they're good in the sense of, you know what they're "feeling", but they're bad in the sense of they look overdone on certain characters - which almost makes them look like cartoon characters, with eyeballs popping out of their heads). Some look great, really great, like Kaka and Mascherano, whereas the number 22 in THIS PIC (to me) looks totally wrong. The expression goes so "far" that it's not realistic and very cartoony, his face just couldn't stretch that much. Some people (in real life) can be really shocked at something, but still go :| rather than . He wouldn't make that kind of face, I don't think. Especially not in a football match. Possibly when about to be run over by a steamroller.

But the Kaka/Mascherano shot is a cracker.

Look where the subs and the coach are looking at in the 2nd picture. It's as if they're not even watching the match. Are Konami really that thick or do you think it well be adressed come the release date ?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

PLayer model is the usual old one, color palette is the usual old one. Those look like PS2 screens to me.

I couldnt care less about the pics. I just want to see it moving.
Animations are a lot more important to me than graphics.

Which picture is Figo on?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

Sorry, it's not Figo. Looks like a young Figo to me. ;) The number 22 in THIS PIC is who I'm referring to.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

someone said this game only had white fans on the stadiums, thats fake.

just watch the pic where ronaldo is taking a free kick vs gahna, there are black gahna fans on the stadium.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

that better not be nani on the left in the subs gear. looks nothing like him. the hair on the guy on the far right is very similar to the hair of liquid snake from the metal gear 4 trailer.

ya thats not figo, figo doesnt play for the NT anymore, the number 22 is Diogo Valente ( but he only went to the 1st NT 1 time, he still plays for the u-21)
