seem more likely

One thing i hope Konami add in pes 2008 is more elaboration on injuries, not just a simple yellow or red cross "injury". Something like "Hamstring problem needs 5 week rest" or "Ankle fracture" or "Mentally fucked needs to seek therapy". :p

Boot kicked in face by manager: 2 weeks
Dropped wallet on foot: 3 months
Attacked by Joey Barton: 6 months

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

Is it just me who thinks that the new Teamvision is the most risky feature ever developed by Konami since the early days of WE?

If it is properly done, sure It is a winner, but if they screw up, even subtly or slightly, It will ruin most of the gameplay that has taken them years to develop.

In the end, I am sure that risks taken will pay off and maybe the graphics will not be that revolutionary, but Teamvision could be the next big thing in gaming, not only for WE but also an example for other game devs to follow.

Now if only the teams with which you play against in ML could learn from previous matches and elaborate their tactics based on that experience... That would be a great leap forward with little or no processing power!

Well, if it is a risk, then I feel it is most certainly a risk worth taking. My fear is that we'll hardly even notice any difference in the AI and that TeamVision is just an EA style gimmick by giving something that already exists a "funky" name.

The biggest disappointment of all for me will be if the game moves to next-gen consoles but after 10 minutes of play I'm thinking "but it's exactly the same as before", a feeling that has become all too prevalent in recent years.

I hope TeamVision is a massive change. I want something new! If I want the same old experience, I'll go back and play PES6, or 5 or 4 or 3.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

What about developing a Master league on Line?? In that way they could have saved 18 months on trying to make a couple of defenders smarter that the usual dumb asses we have been playing for a decade....TeamVision uhm what about calling it "woken up teammates....."

yes I feel sarcastic today.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

Reading between your sarcastic lines, I see your point and agree with you and winston.

Teamvision could be a clear winneri IF it is what they are telling us. Otherwise, as we say in Spain, "same sh*t with a different smell".

But if it is indeed a massive change, not only it would be a big feature for this year, but it could enable further improvements to realism in the game.

Guess It's time for Konami to stop capitalizing on efforts made 4-5 years ago and invent something new.

It'd be perfect for Louis Saha

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

Actually "Cant be arsed during a match" Injury would be perfect for Saha :) I like some of the ideas Konami have come up with like the Pub TV and manager/sub reactions caption. I just hope this so called new Team Vision AI Cuts out all the bullshit scripting that most of us are used to.

Those Ronaldo Screenies look pretty good.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

Good find.

Sorry, it's been said a million times, but oh my God. Those graphics are just absolutely crap. Ronaldo's face is good, as is Deco's, but A) they're better in FIFA, B) they're a million times better when the patchers on this site do them, and C) how retarded does the Portuguese number 16 look? So he's permanently smiling then, great. The whole game looks like a cartoon to me.

I mean, what are those Portugal shirts made of? Look how flat and single-tone they are on the front, they're Microsoft Paint-esque. They're low-res as well, the Nike\FA logos are blurry.

And check out the Nazi crowd! Heil! (You can also see the smiling-for-no-apparent-reason number 19 in this shot, is he high? And look at his arms, it looks like he's trying to squeeze a fart out!! That would explain the smile, maybe it's wind...)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

All I can say from the screenshots so far is that the gameplay better be phenomenal, because there's no argument who is going to win the best looking footy game this year.

I'd be fine with it if Konami spent all their timing taking the game off rails, getting rid of the cheats and improving the modes, rather than focusing on graphics.

However, if that is what they'd done, you'd expect them to have at least alluded to it. Instead we haev 'teamvision'. yay.

those shots are definitely from the same build and i was hoping for Kaka to be on the cover but ah well.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

That confirms it for me no untucked shirts.

This is just gonna be a re jigged 360 version.

When was the last time C. Ronaldo ran around with his shirt tucked in?

Pathetic bring on fifa.

don't care for your opinion

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

just because you don't see an untucked shirt doesn't mean there not in the final game.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/05/07)

graphic discussion round 4... i´m tired of it ;)

IMO the graphic looks pretty good but maybe this has somthing to do with my small asian eyes :)

I like the facial expressions...

I know but I have a sick feeling this is gonna be like last years 360 version with the glass pitch and marble ball physics.

I hope I am wrong mind.

See, that's what I was most looking forward to graphically, and they've totally pissed me off now because in the top screenshot you posted, the guy on the left in the background has an amazingly realistic expression on his face - only for the number 16 on the right of him to be smiling as if he's high as a kite!!

maybe the number 16 is just smiling because Christiano is going for a goal ;)...
