I hope the formation setting is broad. They cut a bit out in PES6.
I know they've added the option where you can choose players that you want in your wall or who you'd like going up for set-pieces. I hope that's available in the edit team menu and not before or during games unless if it's gonna be quick and easy to apply otherwise the waiting time, especially when you're playing online, is gonna be well frustrating.

E3 seems more likely every day, and it would be awesome if sony said something about it in their press conference on Wednesday cause the whole world will be watching and its good promotion.

Well duh! Its th videos to the start of pro evo, easier to make graphics better than that, like saying shrek and toy story has better graphics than pro evo in game
Who knows, they might be able to make graphics that good soon to come, but as far as we know they cant be bothered yet, so now im more interested in why did thy use WE and PES united in the screen shots, rather than ANY other team they could use? maybe they areny done yet, or maybe they are holding back all their real player faces etc for a surprise or something who knows!

At normal wide angle zoom, you will not see this detail. Much like the complete waste of time that was players eye movements.
No doubt PES2008 will be immediately suffering from slowdown, but as we're so used to slowdown in the PS2 versions, they'll think they can get away with it.
Seabass will soon be bringing out the old "we've reached the limits of the PS3 power" line as an excuse that they cannot make a more complex AI model.

I think there is a lot of unfounded negativism on this topic about Konami. Why expecting slowdowns without seeing a single movie? You are not the only one , just another example of beeing that negative.

Personally I think the WE dev team has a very talented project leader, but a severe lack of talent on their own.
So he says that he's reached the limits of the PS2...
...Maybe "God Of War 2" has been a proof of concept of what good developers can do with a decent though still limited hardware, don't you think?

The game needs lens flare everywhere.
Not just on replays, all the time. Loading screens, close ups of faces, Konami logo edit mode etc. etc.
It's also severely lacking on wacky hijinks, like the controller randomly going in the opposite direction that you're pressing.
There should also be the ability to get sacked in Master League, especially if you're real Madrid. Won the title? Great, but you didn't win the Copa Del Ray because it's not in the game so you're sacked.
The game disc should be lens flare and lens flare alone.
When the opposition has a peno the whole screen is engulfed in lens flare so you don't know when to dive.
The computer has mulligan mode, if you tackled their guy who was through on goal, they can Prince of Persia it backwards and give it another go.
Something about lens flare.
Also if it's a PS3 disc it will make any 360 console in close proximity explode, and vice versa. Although the 360 doesn't need much help there.
The 360 version will also have the red ring or whatever on at all times. It should also turn off the fans in every console it's in.
People who sell all of their black players in ML will have their console bricked for racism. Likewise for anyone who edits players to all 99s.
There will be a compulsary game of chess before every match and the loser has to play another game of chess before he's allowed to play. Players who lose 3 times in a row have their disc re-formatted to 256 different variations of chess.
If the post is hit the console resets.
If the keeper catches the ball then the screen is mirrored vertically but the controls remain the same.
Multi-ball for the first 45 minutes. No ball for the other.
An indoor football option where you can only watch.

I don't think the negatvity is unfounded. It's based on underwhelming screenshots which looks like effort has been deficient, news of gameplay developments which do not leave one with the impression that any major progress has been made, no news of major (indeed, any) ML improvements - if there were any of significance, they surely would have already been proclaiming them with a blazing trumpet. No news of lens flare, not even in the sumptuous pub scenes.
Nearly all of the new stuff seems to be gimmicky, sideshow poppycock. Not features of substance.
But most of all, it's based on the fact that PES hasn't gotten any better over the past few years. PES and disappointing are words that, thesedays, spend too much time in each others company.

Where did you get the info that the ML will NOT change drasticly? Maybe they don't, but there was nothing more than a screenshot with Espinas on it. Can you see what will change in the ML from that shot? I can't.
If there is some other news they certainly will proclaiming that with blazing trumpet on a big worldwide stage to reach as many people as they can. That can be at the E3 and it can be in Leipzig.
We have reason to worry if nothing new has told on Leipzig... I expect some movies where you can see the effects of the new Teamvision-AI.

Really? Did Konami ever release many screenshots in begin july? This period was always the cautious start and later on ( like on conventions ) bigger news came out. It's just early days!

I think Konami wants to bring the poorest screenshots earliest and end with the best. For me it makes sense that people tells us that the current screenshots are early build screenshots. Apart from that; can't you imagine a much improved game where graphics has only improved slightly, or is that the most important thing to you?
Again, you haven't seen anything sofar, apart from some old screenshots. You begin to believe it will be the same as previous years and you have no proof that it is the case. On the contrary: The Teamvision sounds like a HUGE next gen step forward to me. Pure AI added thanks to the processor-power of the next-gen consoles. Okay, that is not graphics, but it is a huge step forward on previous versions...

It's not that the screens/news were bad, in fact they were "too-bad", that any improvement will not make it close to anything we expected.
For me, it was the last in-game shot that threw dreams of a "graphical overhaul" down the drain.

It is pretty interesting that Konami does not put some effort on improving the game, since I think it is pretty easy to improve ML or make a deeper edit mode, to mention just a couple of things that could be easily improved/better implemented. The gameplay, which can be called the most complicated goal to achieve, is already there; it just needs some adjustment here and there and we have a perfect football game. But year after year we have the feeling that they fix something but also ruin something. Honestly I hope that the game would be really great since I will buy a PS3 (already sold my PS2) because of the next- gen (hopefully) PES.
In other news, dont know if this was said in another topic, but PS3's price was cut down by $100 on the US. Great news, at least for me.

I think making judgements concerning the game fluidilty thanks to some screenshots is insane :shock::shock: .I am of course worried that we haven't had enough news concerning the most important part of pes :numbers of teams ,ML overhaul,better keepers. I honestly don't care if we can see the bench,the fans at the pub,the interviews or not .In terms of giving information concerning their game,Konami are really really bad. I wanna convince myself that this is a strategy of marketing ,to keep people anxious and frustrated but I just don't wanna ,a couple of real new wouldn't hurt from Konami
