It looks good. Really good.

looks ok not good but workable if they have good in game features and a.i. , don't think it will be twice as good in 3 months , maybe 40% better. but it's all about in game animation as that can make it another level.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Whatever mate, x360, ps3, I dont care, even though I am PS3 fan..I am just sayint that the game will look awsome, and like naz11 said, the motion is the most important thing to look after..

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

hope that is true , there is so much more potential on a 25gb disk where they could improve it much more than shown here, hopefully they look more like the adriano screens but better as they were a year ago.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Yep. From now on till then, whenever someone comments on the quality of graphics/ps3 special versions etc, I'll just plead the 5th. :)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Finally... The thread seem calmed down... :)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Just talking to a few journalists, so not direct from Konami. They reckon the Tokyo team are doing their usual thing by not releasing info over there until the game is done.

For some reason they also reckon it will come out before PES 2008. Im not sure why, Ive heard nothing different. TBH the news coming out in Europe first confirms an earlier release for PES 2008.

Time will tell I guess.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

come on...i'm a PS3 fan..i'll say this first so you XBOX fans or others can take what i say with a grain of salt...but this is what i feel:

These are stills..how many times in your life-time will you be playing PES in still motion??? never!! And i don't care if these are XBOX pics or PS3 pics as if this is PS3 pics, i'm happy with it already!!! IMAGINE these pictures moving...now that's good enough for me!!! they look realistic enough for a game and as long as the game-play comes along...that's all I care!!!

with that aside, now IF...and i repeat IF PS3 does have different graphics, (which has like a 70% chance of happening), i'll be SUPER happy...but if not, it's still good enough!!!!!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

So what is it...early build pics like these "contacts" say, or are they 360 pics?

I swear...lol...lol....oh boy...

I agree. If it has great gameplay and these graphics, I'm happy.
If it has Uber graphics and PES6 gameplay (Freekicks, passing, shooting etc), I am going FIFA... ;)

The bottom line is that for me the gameplay is where it stands or falls. Graphics are just icing.

If the gameplay is great, I'm sure I would like it with wireframe models running around on a grey pitch. Well... you get my point atleast. :)

Off to bed now, sooo tiiiired. I'll argue with you guys more in the morning. :D

Adonis, Suffdaddy, sleep well guys, job well done as usual. :)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Funny to see the mood about the graphics, change so quickly. Getting a much more positive fibe now, compared to say yesterday :)

I'm getting more and more excited by the day. I think when we actually get to see the game flowing, pfff it's gonna be overwhelming.

I'm sure by the 5th of July we'll go insane!! gimme gimme gimme

p.s. our (young)WINNING ELEVEN will crush the english squad later today!! hehe

lol man u must be crazy or anybady else, whu really think that the PS3 version, will look amaizingly superior & as good as that Adriano pic (or like my aviator for that metter) if u say it might look slidely better, u would look les PSfanboy.
wake up dude:mrgreen: Adrianos pic looks more like an (intro) trailer movie, i have not seen a ingame character looking that good in any counsel yet;) (only fight night 3 looks as good)

botom line is: i pesonaly think PS3 will not look much better, compared to the xbox360, according to what we have seen so far, the graphic look very identicul in both counsels at the moment, i am talking about now, what will hapent in the near fature, with PS3 we don't know, but for now i just don't wan't u 2 get 2 excited or espect to much with your PS3, cos u will be very disseppointed.
if the rumors are true about sony paying Konami, then i belive PS3 will be having a better version diffinitly, as sony will try to sell more cousells throw this popular game, but again not in terms of graphic, but they might have some extras thing in it.

anyways the only way for me 2 buy the PS3 counsel with the pes 2008 on it is, if xbox360 will not support a new contoller similar to the PS3 controller, which is more likely that not gonna happen, & it is worrying me as the tiger buttons & the d-pad on 360 controller, is taking the fun of the game away for me, & i might end up getting it at the end:8):

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Just had a quick chat with the PSM3 reviewer whose PES7 blog entry was quoted on here before. I said to him that the graphics were a disappointment after what Seabass had said in interviews about there being a new graphical engine, and that it was perfectly normal to feel let down. I also mentioned why I've been slowly going off PES for the last few years, with the novelty of the new features wearing off after two weeks and then being left with the "I've done this all before" feeling. Here is what he had to say:

Dan D said:
It's a bit late and I'm knackered and on deadline, but you make some really valid points.

I sometimes think a large part of the reason that games mags, myself included, are so forgiving of PES, is that in multiplayer - which we literally do play in 4-player every day - just keeps on giving. And giving. I play the game solo, too, but I feel like the Master League has been stuck in a trench, however fun, for years. And the core faults crop up time and again. The 'scripting', at times, is laughable, especially at the lower level in Master League. You can have 30 shots, and still lose 1-0 to a 'bent' unstoppable CPU goal in the 90th minute - but there's a perverse thrill in 'breaking' the script.

I played quite a lot of 360 Fifa last year, so I'm sceptical of their claims, but admire what they're trying to do. It's in everyone's interests if both games are excellent, but bitter experience teaches you that EA are masters of the big promise - I've been on countless press 'romancing' trips to their HQ where they've promised all sorts of things, and listened intently to our feedback, only for it to be completely ignored. But every year is a fresh chance, and you treat it as such.

I've seen a fair bit more of PES 2008 than they've shown on the net, and I'm now super excited in an unashamedly zestful fan's way. I might be wrong. But at least I've got an idea what they're up to.

I was also initially pleased, but underwhelmed, by the first batch of shots. From what Konami tell us, a lot of internal resource has been geared to the PS3 version, and it's seems only fair to be optimistic.

Time will tell.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Dan

Looking at what I've highlighted, the first bit sounds really promising - a few people have said stuff similar to this now. What the hell could he be talking about that is so amazing? And as for the second bit I've highlighted - is it just me or does that say that the shots released currently are 360 shots and so the PS3 graphcis will be better after all?

Thats interesting, been said many times. We will have to wait and see what happens in the next shots.

First off, excellent work on getting a reply mate.

And yes, you can tell hes trying to say the PS3 version will look better in his secretive journalist type way. Im not sure in what degree though. I mean he states that Konami have geared more towards the PS3 release of the game, but Ive know that for a while and passed that info on here. So has Riot.

It will be interesting to see when the PS3 shots do get shown.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

thanks for the info and your effort jackbauer... sounds really promising... and will see if "time will tell"

A very promising, and well thought out response

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Jack Bauer nice one mate,
i hope i am wrong about the PS3 graphic i posted earlier, but again for anyone out there whu still belive the game will look as good as the Adrianos screenshot, they should forget it, its not gonna happen, anyways we will have to wait & see
at the end i will be getting the best version out there, no matter at what counsel is.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

This website says from few Japaneses retrailers the WE11 are dated for the September 6 in Japan and speak about the rumor of the 360/PC same game and different on PS3

http://www.playlipse.fr/actualite-ps3-Winning-Eleven-11---date-japonaise_3644.html

Thanks for the updates Thomas! Here's the article translated in English.

"Winning Eleven 11, the Japanese version of our Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, should be marketed next on September 6 if one believes plannings of certain Japanese retailers of them. But it is not the only information of the day about it. Rumours announce that the versions PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 of the play would be indeed different, and in particular in graphic term of engine, the version Xbox 360 being developed jointly with version PC and the version PlayStation 3 being developed with whole share. For the moment this information is to be taken with enormous tweezers but Konami should not be long in revealing some more on its title."

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

6th Spetember would be great... after so many sources speak about the extra PS3 version... for me it only hints to one point... the DS will get a special Version :)
