Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Gotta say...pretty disappointed with the graphics.

But PES has never been about that though - I'm more concerned about how they will add to the gameplay as, frankly, I lost a lot of interest in the past few Pro Evos (ever since PES4 tbh). It's not that I lost interest in footy games as I play PES3 and ISS PE more than I do with the latter stuff(!).

I really hope Konami sort out that cutback problem. Sure, you can say to change your tactics (which I do) but ultimately the b*stard I'm playing (offline & online) usually finds a way anyway.

Like really, how large is the proportion of cutback goals seen in real footy? I miss the occasional spectacular long range goal or the sublime header....I think I started disliking the game ever since people started pimping that move like anyone's business.

If you're reading this Konami, get that cutback "bug" sorted, and I will pop over to Japan to kiss you mofo's!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

when it comes to PES, i love my d pad.

here here. I think when you watch football players tend to move in those directions. What Konami need to do better is create better animations that flow while the player is turning.

I forgot to say I did ask about when its gonna be shown off in Japan. He said tbh hes not sure, they tend to do things their own way. But they have a little more to show off too.

I really think anytime before the 23rd. Any later then Konami and Sony have definately got something cooking.

Seriously guys, this is as close graphically, as your going to get to real life on the PS3. Just look at the comparison to real life..It's very impressive!

Having said that, I am very satisfied with the graphics on the pics. The graphics are smooth and with great faces. The only thing it needs is the "shine" on the skin..but we all know that this will show and look more dynamic with the new watermarks technology that's been implemented for sweat and rain.

With proper facial animations, shirt pulling and kits that flow and crease as the players run around, this will be the most amazing, dynamic and perhaps organic looking futbol game on the market.

I can't wait any longer....

Lets stop the Console Wars now! other wise it will ruin the thread and possibly this forum!

360 is as good as PS3 TG ok?

And Konami are NOT going to make a special version of WE/PES for PS3 which will we be different from the 360/PC version....

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I always used the d-pad in PES6 on PS2 cause couldn't use analogue sticks on ps2 for anything! The d-pad is bad on the XBOX 360 but I tried the analogue and got used to it very quickly and I actually like it better now.

PS2/PS3 users don't like using analogue sticks cause they are pretty bad compared to the XBOX 360's ones. I couldn't play a FPS on PS2 using analogue sticks, played Rainbow Six Vegas and was able to use them straight away!

D-Pad is bad on XBOX 360 I think on purpose to let you discover the greatness of the 360's analogue sticks \\:o/

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I hope the 360 game gets the same game as the PS3 apart from maybe some stuff like possible HOME integration, eyetoy etc because the game will sell even more copies and that can only be a good thing.

Adonis next time you contact your contact can you ask them if Konami have plans for PS HOME, eyetoy and xbox vision camera.

Imagine this: Shirt pulling..for example, you are rushing towards goal with Adriano, and then some scum from..I dont know, Valencia maybe :D is pulling your shirt..foul, the game is stopped, but the brawl continues, and Adriano and the enemy get into a fight, which Adriano wins ofcourse :D

An interesting take on things here:

"Most annoyingly, we've seen a lot more of the game that they've shown on the internet - be sure to buy PSM3#90 on 5th July to see all-new screens from unseen areas of the game - and our mood has shifted from curious satisfaction to full-on, yelping, PES-cuddling mania. We can't say any more. But we think there are bigger changes than Konami are currently letting on."

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I think when the camera is zoomed in on the player the crowd should be blurry this would give it much more realism.

I think the graphics are fine they just need to be adjusted a liiiitle bit and in motion the game must look great. But one thing I noticed when i was studdying the screen that ther was a wrinkle that i found on every shirt. It's a little hole at the right shoulder of the players in our point of view

That does sound promising. So here we go, we're waiting until 23rd June and then we're waiting until 5th July... Come on Konami, get your PR guys in gear, for God's sake.

This should be the magazine to buy. I'd be interested to see if the pics are from the same version we've seen or a more recent build.

Thanks Jonjo!

Played PES with analogue stick on 360. Sucks. You don't have the same precision while dribbling as you do with the D-Pad. Hence why Seabass insists on the D-pad.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

so forget 23 rd and prepare for the 5 th?

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Offtopic. I dont get it how come you cant play pes with analog. I cant play it with freakin d-pad..guess it is just me then..

Yo Adonis, any info about a movie or something?

by the sounds of it the ps3 graphics really are better than those that were released

I guess. I mean we've not had anything from Japan yet, which as Suff pointed out earlier is totally weird.

Japan is usually the first point of call. PSM3 magazine after all is a PS3 mag, so any particular PS3 only features might be announced here. Stuff like utilising the sixaxis etc

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

its that time of the year where the latest PES gets a big mag feature and i buy all the mags that feature it even though most games mags apart from OPM (which i subscribe to) and sometimes PSM3 are total garbage.

So it's sounds even better! I think it will be a wonderfull game as always. Konami is the best!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

konami were quoted in issue 2 or 3 of OPM and they said that seabass has plans for the sixaxis.

Looks like the positivo's of this forum are right ;)
And why not? I was wrong on the 360 movement, mixing it up with the Xbox 360  but I always kept confidence about the quality of PES 2008.
I bet the graphics shown in that mag on 5 july will be the same as we are shown on the 23rd, but they want you to buy their mag :)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

well, konami have been saying these shots were from a pre beta version right? so y are you all suprised?
