I have got both and yes if the PS3 version was better id like that. However BE REALISTIC! are they honestly going to work on 3 different versions of the game? PS2/Xbox 360 + PC/PS3??

Exactly! I really doubt that Konami will make PS3 exclusive game to just please Sony and it's fanboys where at the same time there is a huge auditory of Xbox 360 and PC users who've been playing PES/WE series for years. I, myself, think that my PC can handle those graphics (on screenshots) with ease, so there's a room for improvement even for PC users, because you can't even compare em to Colin McRae DiRT which works smoothly without any lags on Ultra settings for me.

I think the game has always been better on the playstation anyway but i think there might be little bits different in the ps3 verson and have slightly better graphics nothing major thou

19 GB means it has alot more than just 6 pictures. Graphics, gameplay, AI, modes, teams, players database, etc. Open your mind my friend. FYI, i do not have a ps3. I'm a 360 owner ;)

Mate, I do not get the fact that you already judged pes2008 graphics being nothing important based on 6 screenshots, and what a waste of 19gb is that. How is that relevant? Do you have all the info on pes2008? NO. Have you played it yet? NO. I mean cmon! All you have witnessed is 6 screenshots. Then you go on ranting about the 19gb being a waste. lol.

Well, incase you were thinking PS3 will not have 19gb of pes2008, i don't think so. Sony gave Konami a whole lot of cash for an apparent reason, which we are yet to witness. No one can argue saying "Oh no way Konami can't do that to their xbox fans!". Well my friends, Konami aren't doing anything to you, they are actually delivering the pes2008 to the xbox, and xbox fans will buy it. The Ps3 however should have the better version since Konami are obligated to deliver for all the cash given by Sony. Its not a matter of choice, its an obligation.

i do believe sony knows pes is the better football game on there system and i could also believe them giving money to invest in the game they know its going to be a money maker

But in answer to your question, Yes i think they will develop 3 versions. The ps2 version will be farmed out to a junior team, much like the ps1 version was when ps2 came along.

Why would sony pay 2 mill to not have the ps3 version offer somthing better than their arch nemesis MS?

Hey, me as a 360 owner, i do wish they are all the same and all as good. But if ps3 has the better version because of the Sony money, then its a fact and i can't do much about it.

Think about it.
- Konami want to be multi-platform with the nex gen PES 2008, so they wil have versions for PS3, 360, PC and Wii.
- They know it will sell on 360 as long it is better then the atrocious ( but still popular) PES6 for 360. It is almost a given that they cannot make it any worse so customers will be more than happy with the 360 version
- PC owners will get a new engine, gameplay so will be happy.
- Sony invests $2 million to assist Konami. I cannot believe that this is for truly alturistic reasons such as licences, where it benefit all platforms particularly Xbox. I speculate that this investment may be for licences in part, but also lot for the development team on the PS3 version. We already know that to develop optimally for PS3, developers need to learn differently for PS3. Cant believe that Sony will be happy with Konami coding without exploiting the different architecture of the PS3, just so they can easily port to 360.
- Wii. can only assume they will port the PC/360 engine for Wii. Whose users wil be happy as long as they can shake their wiimotes at the ref!! :P

plus first you told us it was big news that PES would be coming before WE, now you say World Wide release. First it was a beta version then it became a pre beta version 3 months old.

Don't you think your contact is a little bit messsing things around since they realize the screens they have shown are way lower than expectations????? PLus the information seems to be getting more contradictory.

But good luck with the podcast sent to konami Tokyo. I am sure they are gonna like it.

Well man i suppose what a big company shows is the best their have at hands and having worked for companies selling products that's what usually happen.

Now this is mid june is 4 months to go to mid oct, take away a month for testing and another month for productions and shipping etc.

But then again we gotta see the thing moving, screens indeed tell almost nothing. No need to be so defensive, we are having fun speculating and debating it is always the excting time before some real videos pop up. Come on konami, give us a little 30 sec video if u really wannna show us that 18 month process!!!!!!!!

FIFA08 with a much bigger player database will be on the 360. FIFA08 with incredibly detailed graphics will be on 360.

Etc etc.

You can't really compare, but you get the picture.

Besides, even if they fill an entire Blu-Ray disc, the poor PS3 still needs to be able to use it, in regards to RAM, VRAM etc. For streaming videos the extra space is probably good, but for caching gameplay data for use in game, seems very extreme being able to even use all that efficiently enough. But I am no expert. :)

That's why i stick to PC version this year at least. Kitserver, Oedited faces and stadiums it sounds very promising!

Ok guys, its getting a little stupid de discussion, x360 ps3, there might be differences, but not to big believe me.

After sleeping a night and really be dissapointed, not because its so bad, but because we've all been hyped up again.

We have to see it in motion, and it can get better, with anti ali.. and some effects.

And the best is to have all consoles, so you can play you prefered version, but in the end if you own one, you will still be able to play, because its out on all consoles, no bother fighting about it.

Dont get fanboyish no need, we have to be patient,
and @ Konami, please give us something to drool about but words
we are your loyal custommers. We deserve it

Am i the only one to think it is superweird that they have not release official news in Japan.......that is indeed something that makes me believe that we'll get something a lot better soon about the PS3 version.

Although i am very curious about this embargo thing by Sony? What happened SeaBass slept with some of the Big EXec wife???

Yes, you are wrong :) You have a totally wrong perception of what you get with this new title. Everything is wrong and you argue with people who has a positive feeling about the game. An example? In the IGN-article ( at the bottom ) Seabass mentioned the off the ball movement, together with the new close control of the player, which also means the CPU-control of your own players! So you DO profit from that on-line! That's just an example of your faulty perception...

I think you are arguing over two different things. Now one thing is a better off the ball movement which is indeed very nice both on line and off line, but I think he was expressing his indifference towards that new "Team Vision Thig" which seems to concern the way the AI team interacts with you during the game in terms of strategic positions, not only off ball movements.

Of course the two aspect are related so it is indeed a nice advacement.
