this pics on ign were superb to me.
i mean, pes was never the leader because of its graphics, but because of its gameplay!!!
so i think, the game will though be a big hit even with this quality of game!

Morning gents.

I´ve read all the negatives in here and I can understand that people say they were expecting more for a PS3 game. Fair enough. But aren´t we all playing and loving the PES serious for its tremendous gameplay and physics. Little things might not be perfect and there will always be somebody complaining, but let´s be honest, it´s complaining on a very high level, isn´t it?

I never get carried away or upset about graphics of a sportsgame. I play the game in the wide-standard angle and you don´t see any details from that angle. GAMEPLAY, AI and PHYSICS these are the main concerns. After that you can rightly demand for truely next-gen graphics, untucked shirts, ML-modes, Nike balls, licenses and so on.

Stay positive and think of the reasons why you play the Konami series.

The amount of people who are bagging the player graphics have gone bonkers. The most important thing is that the players have the same build are real life players.. the same mechanics, the same physicallity (if thats a word). Fifa's players look all shiny n colourful etc, but thats no good, cause they dont look good.. ie. they dont look like human beings... well not as good as how they do on konami.

Im so glad the players still look similar to how they look on pes6, with the obvious graphical improvement of details etc. And they'll only look better once we see the real version, and while in motion.

As for fifa, as ive always said: they really need a new animation director.. so that the players look like human beings.. not monkey-ish with big shorts and short legs...

Lami same here, if it will have fantastic gameplay, I dont care much about graphic, but on the other hand its year 2007 so I am supposed to see some nice graphic on PS3 and again we ve been promised something, and Konami themselfs must feel this is not what we ve been expecting. No one wants PES to be fotorealistic , this is nonsense of course. And as about this Teamvision, first of all I must say I dont care much about that cause I play online and this is mainly singl modec thing, but. How many times we have heard about "learning AI " in the various games ? Was it ever succesfully adapted to the game ? And I seriously doubt its gonna work now, maybe we see some "tries" from CPU , but learning AI is problem to create in NASA at least in the terms of Konami statement. I think they already tried to make something like taht on Winning eleven 6 or 7 , they announced that CPU will learn from your style of play or at least it will try to defend u wisely when u still play on the wings or through the middle etc. Of course nothing like that happened and I dont think it will on PES2008. But maybe I am wrong.

You´re right Miro. They said that before. But I honestly do believe that it takes a lot of CPU power to create a good AI. As the PS3 provides that power, I really think it will work this time. If not, we wouldn´t get a game with much difference to PES6. I think Seabass was waiting for the technical possibilities to create a truely intelligent AI. Otherwise they could have easily released the game last year already.

as far as i'm concerned the screenshots look very good and konami say,

Konami promises it will be a true next-gen experience, so there will be proper facial animations, shirt pulling and kits that flow and crease as the players run around. Watermarks from sweat and rain appear as the game continues too, bringing the player that bit closer to the action than ever before.

people need to stop crying!

I think the graphics are a decent improvement and the players certainly look more like actual people than other football games, they just have to work a bit more on the detail. :)

Exactly. Ps3 offers much more power for AI this time around. Therefore things must be different somehow.

I cant wait for next gen version, I wann play noooooooooooooow:-),
but I must say, that even if the graphic is gonna be the same as it is on pics, I really hope that we see something special when it moves, great positioning, lifelike moves, great movemnet of players when they shoot, great tackles, and no more of this "moving" when player is going to make tackle he somehow "slides on the grass" and FW is going alone on the goal. I cant wait to see this oh yes.

PES6 is the best in my opinion and PES 2008 is going to be amazing, the only problem I have is I hope it will be good on XBOX 360.

You ended up with the 360 version from last year slightly tweaked which is what most of us people who live on Planet Earth expected!

For me its still too cartoony, you cant say that it looks realistic and if thats 18 months worth of work then I will be a millionaire very soon!

It will be great on both systems. I am a PS3 fanboy but I am not stupid. An X-Box 360 is a great machine and Konami would be stupid to miss out on this market.

So far the 360 has shown that it can play games made for PS3 perfectly! e.g. Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua Tennis 3 which were both made on PS3 hardware.

pes6 is mainly for poor players,it's a football game for everyone ->exemple:you take henry and say to your friend, "look ,i killed you!!!"but you don't even know how... Defense are static, the only way to stop an attack isn't real to me (long tackle or run in direction of my goalkeeper).If you play with big team, the score will never be 0-0 or 1-0, even if you try to do your best.In pes5, it was really hard to pass the defense, and when you did it you really made something good,somehting real...

I've to try last J-league to know if it's the same as pes6/we10
I hope pes2008 is more like pes5 and not for poor players...
