Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

players looking more like rappers lol with bagge shorts :D

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

fifa = basketball shirts and shorts with air constantly blown down them for some weird reason , there shirts are so creesed it seem they forgot to iron them. just looked at the ribery pic and so folded looks fake / just for show. we want realism not pictures from a advert but a real match. hopefully they will get wet and feel heavy on the player and show water dripping off and mud on them . best of all as a celebration take it off and swing it into crowd, overhead, or to opposition bench (lol).

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I have read the topic and the other one (Future WE/PES discussion) and, first of all, want to say "thanks" to Thomas, Vanished, Kaiwai and the staff of WENB. You guys do an excellent work, and if the game sucks or not, you still are the best. Don't stop the hard work!

About the preview (?) of the game, I have high expectations for the game, however the screenies not are the best, seems good for me.

A fact that is not arguable is about gameplay more important than graphics. That is right, but a next generation console like PS3 + 18 months of development means, at least for me, a better image from the game, even in beta phase as Konami contact said to suff's.

Also, comparisons with FIFA are non-sense. Ea's football games just SUCK. I prefer to play WE7 before a next-gen (?) EA's football game.

Let's wait a bit more when we can see a video. I still have high expectations for the game. The only issue that annoys me is the fact that I am afraid we will not have Bundesliga again. Fuck you, EA Sports!

can pro 2008 have decisions over pens and fouls coz of shirt pulling ?? :-);-)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

ok,

I think EA are too fixated on creating baggy shorts, its like a fettish.

They also seemingly have no knowlege on how a ball moves through the air.

I think the main difference between Ea and Konami when it comes to football games is this.

Konami have a superb core to their gsmes. Its something they have based all their games around since PES1. It still works, but is becoming dated.

EA on the other hand have never had the core that Konami have had. So thats why so many of their games have been abortions.

I think in the last few releases it has been EA making ground on Koanmi and actually trying harder to implement changes that fans are screaming out for though.

i wonder if we will be able to see a player grab a handful of another players shirt and see it stretch as he runs away? that would be cool.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

To all the people who said PS3's graphics would be miles ahead for the past whole year...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the same graphics engine, just tweaked player models!

At the ned of looking at the screens I'm happy. Not amazed, but really looking forward to it, glad Brazil and Portugal are licenced, that just leaves Konami to get Germany and they have all the big nations licened. Looking at the player models the animation will be amazing, no more robot running like in PES6.

And yes, I was right again, this game would be shown before E3.

u realy think konami would confirm that one version is better then other!??? LOLOL

they wanna sell!!! they will never confirm something like that!!!

its the gamers who will compare the versions and see what system has the better version when the game comos out!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

man we r not realising what part of the paragraph sad

1 Shirt pulling ... what i said above
2 sweat and rain effects ... sweat dripping from the players rains making them tired mud on the shirts etc ....
3. we will have moving shirts ;-) .. think about thats NEXT GEN AND WE R GETING IT

To me, that would maybe explain why the graphics are soooo csrtoony looking. Maybe the stills look shite, but when the game flows it will look awesome.

Although that maybe clutching at straws

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

does anybody know if this is a worldwide release? there was absolutely no mention of it just being released in Europe. This press release was from Konami HQ's, correct?

true agree with u. want to know about the changes to the master league and the last lic shows something different from the series , looks similar to the fifa feature they were talking about , something like libero which you control one player and follow him through the career. that player looks like a edit made player of your liking as looks alot worse than the other pics.

I wanna see proof of that : i want a vid !!!!!

by the way you peaple say graphics are shite now that's overpessimism.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

there is going to be completely new animation i think.

when we see this in action, i expect them to react close to real players. look at the picture of kaka'. i think how costinha is bent lower, placement of his feet and how kaka' reacting, looks pretty good for a still picture. looks like there is more weight them. also the players boots look like they are actually 'in' the soft turf, and not floating on top.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

i have seen kaka react that way in real life im sure

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

BRILLIANT! DRAGÃO IS THERE! "SELECÇÃO" (PORTUGUESE NT TEAM) IS THERE! "ESCRETE" (BRAZILIAN NT TEAM) IS THERE! :D

I hope Luz licenced and possibly the Liga BetAndWin.com! :D

Thank you very much! That's my anticipated birthday gift! :applause: :D

it says that on ign and the konami official statement about thos pictures and the game. you need to read what is written on ign , u will find out alot about the gameplay . very positve things like greater team play and a.i. to adjust to your play and make sure your not repetative and can't score cut backs as easily or similar goals out of stupid defensive mistakes like before.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

So any of the insider contact gave you some clue about when to expect some gameplay vid???

Once again and for the last time: the announcment itself wasn't really up to the game's fame and glory. Shallow statement and average screenshots. We could do much better without being overlypaid PR big egos.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

i'm just comparing these to the new shots and the new shots look much better.

check out the new c ronaldo picture and look at the no.6 of brazil. he is kind of bouncing on his toes. an animation not in the previous games.

i believe it will look great when it's moving.

please compare them

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Loads of people need to realise now that the PS3 and 360 versions will be the same, otherwise you are going to be awfully dissapointed. The PS3 while being a good machine is on par with the 360 and is not the super duper gaming machine it was hyped up to be. Take it from me a non fanboy who has all 3 next gen machines. The PS3 is no more powerful than the 360, well not yet anyway. As for the game requiring 18gig or more than a normal DL DVD it won't and any extras will be teh same as other PS3 games which currently hold 15 - 20 gig, just padding and uncompressed stuff. There is no actual need for it.

Back to the game I'm not yet convinced but really hope Konami can reclaim there place as my number 1 football game because at the moment FIFA UCL is a diffrent level in my opinion but admitedley is not the same as the feeling I had with WE5 and WE6 etc.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

looks the same just slightly higher res and antialaising

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Ok guys Im here to fill you with some info of whats been going on today.

I was told extremely early this morniing IGN had git a few hours exclusive in a press release that was sent straight to my inbox. I contacted my personal contant very early and stayed in touch with him until around 4 ish.
In all honestly he was amazed by all the hate that has comeout.

'The pics are from before the beta. simple as, the last thing we work on when making a game is taking the graphics upto another level. Its going to get so much better. I mean look at the boots, pitches and kits. First off all the players boots are preset, they've yet to be commercialised. As for the pitches and Kits, you think that those textures are final? The three traites mentioned about shows how old the pics had been taken. There not even from a beta version.'

So that was his defense, but aside from that I would really love to see the players moving. For me is the animation and feel that will make it nextgen.

Over the next four months Konami will rveal more things as it happens, but I cant help feeling this side of it is being controlled more so in Tokyo. Once they guys in Japan are ready to show stuff Europe will be sent the info imo.

Im going to hold my judgement right now. Its a game Ive been longing for such a stupid amount of time. I hope we see videos soon.

btw, if my contact is a visitor here, just wanna say thank u. From our convo it seemed you were in a tremendous amount of stress. Gonna let you chill then pester you somemore later in the week!

are u serious or kidding , FIFA UCL is is way too easy if you play football in real life and use your skills of how to ditribute the ball quickly and use the whole pitch it becomes too easy and the scores are way too high like 5-3 or 4-2 every game not realistic at all and the a.i. is awful , the ball moves aroun the air like a boomerang and the keepers are like spideman in net humping catching shots out of the air. if you like that you must not like watching real football matches on tv and call it SOCCER.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

lol - if sony did pay konami money for their version of the game, then seabass is running all the way to the bank!

Money well spent there sony!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

What did I tell all you PS3 fanboys

what , have you played the game , fifa o7 looked good but was a massive improvement by fifa but still was shit compared to pes 6 in gameplay, first fifa game i baught in 6 years and it was good for fifa standard but we pes fans expect more than money thrown at agame and shiny kits , gameplay is the core and so far team vision is the next-gen thing i wanted to hear great a.i. feature what real footie fans were wanting to here and not what fifa fans ( 4-12 year old boys ) but pes fans want ( 12- 45 year old men who love a tactical battle rather than a arcade game which you put 50p in and seems fun for 30mins but has no depth).

what's you reply????????

Im not putting down your contact, you have consistantly been giving your all to the podcast etc, tis a wonderful thing.

Howwever, the comment above sounds to me like the guy is shitting himself.
Cant believe all the hate? Yesterday he said they have been working on it for 18months, today they release screens that look average, and he comes out and then says it from before a beta? Add to this that he sounds stressed out....

Maybe if konami actually showed something that they think may impress us, then such a quick depiction of hate wouldnt be so obvious?

edit: and like jack said, in no way could they make the graphics near fifa07 in 3 more months

thnx adonis

what i cant understand is why show this level of graphics if its not the final look unless they doing the old 1/2 trick as in giving the weak left hook first then come round with a devastating right hook last
