Two player tournaments

Is there anyway to play against a human players in cups,
I can only play the CPU, and on the player settings screen the controller won't go to the other side,
this is very irritating:roll:

When setting up the tournament make sure to set the number of players to 2/16 before choosing teams.

No i mean if i'm suppose to play against the CPU in a cup game, can i make player 2 play as tbe CPU team?
