Star football players who ended their careers before 2006 but then returned to professional football

Aldair (finished in 2005, resumed in 2007)
Overmars (finished in 2004, resumed in 2008)

A mention for players who played until a very good age.

Shunsuke Nakamura, retired at the age of 44 in 2022. taker of amazing free kicks, scored the best FK ive ever seen for Celtic against Man U to win 2-1 and take Celtic to the last 16 of the champions league.
 
Nakata's retirement always seemed way too early, I think he was more interested in fashion and other endeavors than in football by that point. It was quite clear at Bolton that he had lost passion for the game.. Actually, I think it's quite a shame he retired at age 29, I always enjoyed watching him play during his days in Italy, he had good technical ability and was an intelligent player!
